Easy to use. 3 knobs (level, tone, drive)and 2 modes. (ts9 or hot mode, hot mode has higher gain/drive)
There's a manual with 3 settings suggestions. you can creat your own sound using that suggestions.

Sound Quality : 10
I play it with a strat copy and a marshall 30w amp, usa big muff and boss turbo distortion. I mainly use it as a booster for solo with low drive and high level. I tried the hot mode and turned the drve up. It gave a good overdrive sound.
It sounds great. It cuts out the gain on the Big Muff if used together but it gives a good lead sound. (I don't really know if anyone uses it with Big Muff though.) It sounds good with the distortion. I used these two pedals to play some 3-doors-down's songs and basically a lot of rock stuff sounds fine.
It gives a nice clean sound if the drive is very very low...can use it for clean intro. Don't play chords if you don't want gain.

Reliability : 10
I don't gig but I can definitely depend on it for performances.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Everything's fine so far.

Overall Rating : 10
I think the unit is very versatile for a lot of style. I mainly play rock/pop/Greenday like Lifehouse, Greenday, Staind etc.
It sounds good for clean lead sound/solo lead sound/overdrive. It worths it since it's pretty cheap. Quality is as good as boss ones so far and it's so much cheaper.
If it's lost or stolen, I'd defintely get it again.
I wish this thing can have a remote to switch between two settings, but I guss I might as well get a second one if I need to.

Simple as you can imagine.3 knobs, stompbox, and a mode switch.
It's great.Find your tone and push the knobs down to lock them.(TONELOK,hehe)

Sound Quality : 10
I use an Ibanez rg550ex,and i wanted something that would bring out my ROCK/METAL/PUNK songs. When i used it alone it didn't gave enough satisfaction, but i used ZOOM505-II with it and woooow. It's very simple,if you have a cheap multi effect processor, set all of the distosions to 0.Then find an effect on your processor you like(FLANGE,CHOURUS,PHASER,DELAY,ECHO...),and use the tubescreamer after it.That will really bring you the sound you like. From metal, blues, rock, punk,to reagge,grunge...The choice is yours.Trust me.I was very confused at first, but when I connected it all in one I was thrilled.Exelent pedal, not just for blues like most people here say.Everything works

Reliability : 9
Great reliability.I think it would take an elephant to smash something like this.

Stolen,,,,lost..... I would shure go buy another one.Great price, great tone.Sweet TS9 mode, destructive HOT mode.As I said before, save a lot of money with an old multi effect and this baby. You will get the sound you desire and deserve.

very easy, make sure you use it with a tube amp though

Sound Quality : 9
great sound, im using this with a mexi strat into a peavey classic 30. the only thing better would be a TS-808, IMHO, this is a bit better than the TS9 cause of the extra features and identical sounds

Reliability : 8
not as good as a boss, but it holds up nicely

overall, its a great pedal with a nice price tag

A stomp box: switch and three knobs (Read: E-A-S-Y T-O U-S-E).

Sound Quality : 9
My setup: Yamaha SG700s, Fender Blues Jr (15W tube combo). I normally use the TS7 as a booster, with drive set to 0-2 in TS9 mode. Great sound! Wonderful sustain, bottom strings sound really tight and higher strings ring beautifully (also thanks to Blues Jr's typical Fender sound). The TS7 is great for blues and rock sounds. Some people might think it sounds a bit nasal, but I prefer it that way. The HOT mode gives you a shitload of gain, and is OK for punk and (perhaps) metal rhythm sounds, but in terms of lead playing, the strings tend to lose most of their definition and bends sound bad.

I've also tried the TS7 with a 90's Telecaster & Blues Jr. (nice combination, though Tele's pickups don't give you much overdrive) and with my friends Jazzmaster & old Selmer head & 4x12 cabinet. Remember folks, this is an overdrive pedal. If you want loads of gain and distortion, look elsewhere.

Reliability : No Opinion
Built to last. The fact that you can push the knobs back inside the cover, is extremely useful when gigging.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea. I've never had to deal with Ibanez.

Overall Rating : 9
I would give the TS7 a '10', if I wasn't such a perfection freak. It's a great pedal, and INCREDIBLY cheap! TS9 costs more than twice as much and, in my opinion, isn't worth that much, considering that the difference isn't that big. Great pedal, great value for money!

Well, here we go into the search for the holy grail of tones. I surfed harmony central for months to find the "perfect overdrive pedal", but the comments and ratings led me in circles. the bottom line is tone is in your hands and your heart. if you have good inherent tone, then tone will be there. that is why a lot of people will rate effects so diversely. Also, it is important to consider what amp you use. A DS-1 sounds are not pleasing to me through my marshall but sounds good through a solid state evans or my crate amp. People always ask what set-up i use and then try to buy the same stuff i have only to tell me later that it doesn't sound good when they use it. I like to try out pedals, but I look for unique sounds, but as my wife puts it: "I don't know why you buy all of this stuff when it sounds the same." The TS-7 serves my needs and I will save a few bucks until I get lutred in by a Red Snapper or take ol-yeller home.

There is nothing to add, it's simple.

Sound Quality : 9
I use an Ibanez s470 sol or a cheap strat copy, then a crybaby, the ts 7, a soldano sp-77 preamp and, last but not least, an engl tube monitor.
I tried the ts 7 in comparison with the sp-77 overdrive channel and hey, I didn't hear that the sp-77 does cost ten times as much. ok, the soldano is much better for playing rhythm (much more "ass"), but for playing solo I will definitely use the ts 7 more often.
The unit is somewhat noisy, that is the reason to give it a 9, but the overdrive tone is beautiful, rich and warm, it is a good choice not only for blues.

Reliability : 10
Sturdy metal case, but you can destroy it, if you want to I guess

Dont know, it is quite new

It's a stompbox with three knobs and a switch. How hard could it be? You set the switch to TS9, play with the knobs until you find something you like, and go jam.

Sound Quality : 9
I bought the TS7 because the distortion on my Peavey amp sucks, unless you're a metalhead. I also wanted a tubescreamer because Stevie Ray played one. I ended up with a TS7 because I can't affford a TS9. This does the job, though. I can very closely approximate the SRV growl, and I play a tele! Granted, part of that has to be me (I know I sound like a cocky asshole, but I'm saying this based on what other people, specifically after hearing me for the first time, tell me. In the words of one, "Damn, that was really good!"), but the growl part is definitely enhanced by the tubescreamer.
I also use the tubescreamer to get a really smooth overdrive- perfect for "Tuesday's Gone" (Skynyrd- their guitar players are underrated), "Sister Luck" (Black Crowes- listen to the solo in the intro. It's almost Slash tone.), and the lead from "Let it Be" (If you don't know who did that, you've been in a cave for the past thirty years.)
My only complaint about the TS7 is the fact that it quite literally eats batteries (non-issue. I use a power supply.) and the fact that, even on the lowest setting, the highs seem to scream when I pick hard and have the bridge pickup on. It's not as bad as the distortion on my amp, but it gets on my nerves sometimes, as I almost always pick very hard. But other than that, I love Ibanez. They did a great job. It's got the sound and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Reliability : 10
The thing's a goddam tank. The only thing I'd worry about is some fool taking the word "stompbox" literally. But if you have common sense and use it, the thing should last longer than you will.

Customer Support : No Opinion
It's called meking friends with local guitar techs. If I break anything, it goes to Chuck Levin's. I know the people there, and I trust them not to lie to me to make an extra buck. They're cool. The hell with Ibanez.

Overall Rating : 10
My overall judgement of the tubescreamer, in any form is that it gets labelled (incorrectly) as a one-trick pony because of the SRV connection. As I said before, it does do SRV, but the tone doesn't stop there. It's good for just about anything, unless you're a metalhead. In which case, why the hell are you reading this review? F*** off! But back to what I was saying. The TS7 can do anything. Even if you're not an SRV fan, it's a good investment. And don't listen to the assholes who say that this is one-trick pony. The TS7 is as versatile as whoever's using it. Peace, love, and soul.

Finding a good tone is really a matter of seconds. 3 knobs, could it be simplier. Plus Hot-mode of course.

Sound Quality : 10
I`m using Fender American Standard and Marshall VS65R which is a no-good amp for my music. I also use my VOX Wah V847, and it is good with TS-7 ( It sounded like a shit with BOSS Metal Zone). TS-7 is noisy with Hot-mode on, but I liked the TS-9 mode better. Think SRV, and The Sky is Cryin`. It is the every blues-man`s MUST! My settings: Marshall`s Gain 4 (a little bite..)and TS-7: Drive 0-3 (to give a little more boost, gain and volume...) Tone: 4 (just the sound like without it, or i put it right to 7) Level: All the way to 10 (Full boost!).

I`ll play Blues. Like mess of Stevie Ray, Albet King, Jonny Lang, Jeff Healey, Clapton and B.B.King. I also play Hendrix, and now I know how did Stevie use just Tube Screamers and VOX Wah when playing Hendrix (OK, he used Octavia and Fuzz Face sometimes). Like I said, it is a MUST for electric blues players.Dot.

Three knobs, a drive, a tone and a level. That is it. I have a newer one which has a "hot" switch as well - which is basically just a db boost. It also has "set and forget" knobs which are great. I didn't think this a big deal until I had them. Now, I think every pedal should have them as dialing in a sound can take some tweaking - not something you want to be doing everytime you plug in.

Pretty easy to get a good sound. I set the pedal in about 2 min to replicate the sound of my tube amp. Now when I press the pedal, I get what essentially sounds like a volume boost from my amp. There is no real tonal difference, just a volume difference. But, because I have more front end gain, I can really get some nice harmonics out of the guitar, especially pinch harmonics. I couldn't get those running straight to the amp. Very nice and easy to use.

Sound Quality : 10
As stated above, the pedal can replicate the sound of my all tube amp with no problem. Tonally it is awesome. I run a Fender Strat Plus (mainly, I also use a Peavey Vandenberg and a Les Paul) into a Morley Vol/Wah, then the Tube Screamer direct into my amp; a Carvin MTS3212 (100 watt all tube combo). I also run a rackmount effects preamp processor (Digitech Valve FX) through the amps effects processor.

I set the gain pretty high on the TS and my amp is usually cranked to the max (I have a phenomenally loud drummer). So, when I step on it, I can get an immediate feedback if I don't dampen the strings. But, other than that, you can't tell if the unit is on or off by sound as it is very quiet. My sound is pretty ballsy even with the Strat, and the TS rings out with a sound very near the natural tube distortion of the amp. Pretty impressive I'd say.

Reliability : No Opinion
I've only had this unit a short time, so I can't really comment. However, I used to have an original TS808 (that I sold off for about 6x what I paid for it back in the late 70s) and that thing was like a tank. This new unit doesn't seem as solid (plastic exterior instead of metal), but I don't expect any problems in the near future. The set and forget knobs are a Godsend as I constantly, and unknowingly, changed my settings with my old TS808.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing over 25 years. I've had all kinds of guitars, amps, pedals, processors, etc. I play a wide variety of stuff, mainly bluesy rock stuff. My new band plays all originals in a Creed vein - but with lots of real bluesy solos. This pedal is good for me. It has a nice warm, tube tone that sounds great with my setup. I just use the TS as a lead boost for solos and for that it works great. I don't really know how well it would work as a constant unit for both rhythm and lead playing though. I'd suspect you'd want a bit more bottom end in that case. I've found that the hot switch really just makes the unit more edgy with a bit of db boost. Because I run such a high gain setup, I don't use it as it's just that much harder to control feedback, etc. But, if I ran at a lower overall volume, it might be usefull - but you'd really jump up in volume with it on. From what I remember, the unit sounds just like my old TS808 (which now sell for about $300 mint). So, I'd say a $45 investment is more than worth it. I wouldn't listen too much to the "old is better" people as I don't know of many companies that change too many things for the worse (excepting the case of "new Coke" of course). This unit is new, and good.

I'd definetly get another if this one were lost or stolen. Cheap and good - can't be that combo with a stick.
