Very easy to do and very effective! I like the Boss-DD5 as an affordable and versatile delay pedal. This simple mod does improve it considerably and is worth the money fo the DIY mod sheet.

This mod is effective on a DD5 and makes it more natural sounding. I tend to use the rightmost and second to rightmost delay type (right knob) with the delay (left knob)set to about 10-11 o'clock adn a little bit of feedback. The mod trims off some of the highs to make it sound a bit more natural. It's a good mod and easy to do. The connections are between the #4 and 6 solder points.

If you solder carefully, it is no problem. Make sure the tip is clean and tinned and use forceps or tweezers to hold the component while soldering (no need to burn fingers).

Great guy to work with and answers questions quickly and knowledgeably. He's got a very useful service for DIY'ers and I want to hear a CS-3 modded!

This mod is easy, simple, effective and costs very little including the instructions. Remember: you are paying for what he knows, not what he does! If you can figure it out and do it, fine. I prefer to play and leave geeky electronics stuff to those who want to explore it. It's not my preference, but I can solder! For the $$, this is a very good and very simple mod that gives a substantial improvement.

I did this off the indyguitarist DIY kit, and I found the kit pretty easy to use, and the DD5 mod fairly easy as well. The only difficulty is in taking apart and reassembling Boss pedals--there's a lot of stuff in a tiny space, so you have to be patient when doing the mod.

The mod, which pretty much consisted of soldering a capacitor on one of the lugs, cuts some of the treble frequencies, makes the pedal sound much more analog. The brittleness of traditional digital delay is gone, and while it doesn't sound 100% analog, it's a lot cheaper than buying a new pedal.

I trust my soldering skills and boss's quality. No problem here.

I did a few other mods from the DIY kit, and they are all relatively easy and sound pretty good too. I can't remember what I paid, but I recommend the indyguitarist DIY kit.
