Sound Quality

Compared to the stock sound, this pedal scores a 10 with me.
Here's why:
Before the mod, the stock sound was very harsh and ultra bright sounding. Brian was able to tame the brightness without altering the pedal's original sound. The tone knob is now usable. Before, I had to keep the tone at 0 and even then it was too high. The pedal now stands on the line between a traditional fuzz tone and a distortion.
I wanted a fuzz/distortion box that would compliment my overdrive tone. I thought that this pedal hit pretty close to the mark in its stock form, but now I realize that the mod really did the job.
Reliability

DOD makes decent pedals and are fairly reliable.

I received an email when the pedal was shipped out. I did not have any other contact. The service was excellent though.
Overall Rating

Overall the fuzz/distortion sound is upgraded and now produces a much smoother fizzy tone reminiscent to a sovtek big muff or silicon fuzz face depending on your eq setting. I use pre and post eq to further enhance the sound of my overdrive and fuzz pedals. I will need to invest in a dual true bypass looper pedal and another EQ though.
My favorite overdrive EQ does not mix well with the fuzz.
I use a standard Mid Boost infront of my overdrive pedal and a scooped setting behind the overdrive to achieve my overdrive tone.
I use a bass boost, treble cut, and volume boost before the fuzz and a scooped setting behind it to achieve my fuzz tone.
These settings give me the sound I'm looking for.
I might have gotten away with just getting another EQ pedal but I think the money spent modding this pedal was well worth it.
