The Jacques TB-2 Tubeblower Overdrive Pedal is a very good overdrive fashioned after the classic Ibanez TS-808 overdrive only with a greater range of bass,treble and gain and distortion.
Good versatility and tonal quality.
The Indyguitarist Mod improves this pedal and makes it a better pedal. The pedal now sounds warmer and smoother but with an edge with more gain. The clipping distortion is more organic and less mechanistic than the original, a huge improvement. I think they call that asemetrical clipping. Sustain is very good but not overboard ,notes decay nicely. Great note articulation.
The Jacques pedal has a good foundation to work from because of it's fine engineering with good control of tone. The Mod maintains the great Treble and Bass control. The drive can go from a clean boost to serious distortion. The Modded version is nicely voiced , it can sing like a bird or roar like a lion. This pedal packs a punch and makes your gear sound much fuller.

I have 4 Indy modded pedals and have never had a problem. The Jacques looks to be well made.
Note: If you have an old hand wired Tube Blower , don't get that one modifyed because it is collectable and a mod would devalue it.

The modded Jacques Tube Blower is an excellent pedal for rock or blues and slide guitar. I tried the pedal through a Peavey Bandit, a Peavey Blazer both solid state amps and the pedal performed very well. I also played it through a Peavey Classic 30 tube amp and it performed very well. This pedal does good with solid state or tubes,
with single coils or humbucker pickups.
I play classic rock, southern rock , blues, R+B and this pedal gets the edgey sounds I like. Very versatile as well.
