This is the basic Boss compact pedal design with 3 knobs: level, drive, and tone. Very simple.

My current rig = American Strat w/ vintage noiseless pu's -> Boss TU-2 Tuner -> Keeley Compressor -> Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive (Keeley Mod) -> Boss OS-2 (Indyguitarist Mod) -> Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi -> MXR Phase 90 (Script Mod) -> Boss CE-2 (Keeley Mod) -> Roland Cube 30 Amp (usually set to the Roland JC-120 setting).
Before the mod, the OS-2 was not a bad pedal, but was somewhat muddy on some settings (when adding a lot of overdrive), and was really just average.
I bought this pedal used, and have really enjoyed the ability to mix overdrive and distortion in one pedal; however, the pedal sounded somewhat boring to me. I tried various settings to try to find my sweet spot(s), but never really found exactly what I was looking for.
Brian's modification really brings out the best in this pedal. I had decided to either sell the pedal, put it in one of my equipment bags, or try a mod. I am glad that I tried the mod. The pedal is much more responsive to picking, and generally sounds much better than the stock version.

I bought this pedal used, and it looked pretty beat up when I got it. However, it is a Boss and has never shown the first sign of letting me down.

Brian is great. He called me to ask me exactly what I wanted done to the pedal, which was surprising. Excellent customer service!

I play Christian Rock, Rock, Blues, and Punk. I have been playing for 20 years, and have tried various set-ups (usually fender guitars and fender tube amps).
This pedal has become an important part of my OD/Dist. Sound, but only after Brian modified it.
