it is too easy to use. It just sounds good and that's it.

It sounds good and has a cool sound. The Clang mode is kinda crazy and does weird things with different imput volumes and whatnot. It does a sort of volume swell effect as well as sort of an octave ring modulator.
the tube mode is a really great sounding distortion and can go from overdrive to really thick fuzz very nicely. most pedals sound like crap with the gain turned down, not this one. I wish there were more controls than just gain and volume though but it sounds great!

seems good and heavy duty. the soldering was definitely a hand done job.

It would be cool if there were led lights, more controls, and the box was bigger so it wouldn't tip over when kicked (kicking pedals?) But it sounds great so hey.

Very simple to use. Volume and gain knobs, Tube/Clang switch, on/off switch, 9volt adapter socket, 1/4" in and out jacks. This is a new effect Justin developed and is very unique. No manual was included with the prototype series (limited to 10 boxes), the final version will probably include one.

I use the following gear: Hamer strat copy with Bill Lawrence L250s, and custom electronics, 2 Peavey Delta Blues amps, Boss CE1 chorus, J. Philpott Tyche Octave, and a Snarling Dogs Super Bawl Whine-O wah. I put the XYLO after the Whine-O and Tyche, but before the CE1. The sound is incredible. It takes a little time to get it under control though. You can't crank the volume and gain on the pedal without getting feedback if your cranked up. I set the volume at about 10 oclock and the gain between 9 and 12 oclock depending on the sound I'm looking for. These settings give me ungodly sustain and a huge, phat distortion. This thing is hotter than a 4-balled tomcat.
The other sound this pedal has is a harmonic clang. When engaged, it adds harmonic in the upper range which add a very unique character to your playing. It is similiar to the sound Prince used on some of his early albums and I've also heard this type of sound on Hendrix albums. It really adds to your solos and gets kind of funky when you use it on chords. Nice touch.

I've had a Tyche by Justin for about a year and have gigged quite a bit with it both on stage and in the studio. I have had no trouble at all and I expect the XYLO to perform the same way.
The enclosure is metal and the components are well mounted. It should last a long time.

Justin is a great guy who will go out of his way to help with a problem or answer a question. I wish all companies acted that way.

I enjoy using Justin's effects and I hope to acquire more in the future. I have used this pedal to play everything from blues to thrash to straight ahead metal. It works great. The harmonic clang is just the right thing when your looking for something different or to make a solo stand out a little more.
Great job Justin!!
