2 knobs, 2 switches. 2 LED's. Does it get easier?

Sound Quality : 10
I can't say enough about the DD cup, btw- the full boost is perfect (kicks my Zvex SHO's ASS!) and the treble boost combined w/ a guitar's neck PU turns my guitars into the perfect Tele lead tone machines!

I use it primarily with -
Guitars-
Gibson Firebird w/ mini-HB's, Gretsch Duo-jet w/ Filtertrons, Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion w/ Bill Lawrence HB's

FX-
DD cup, Boss Octaver, Snarling Dawg Wah, DLS Chorus, Ibanez Delay, EvermanThe Pot (for clean tones)

Amp-
Overdriven 2-input Hiwatt DR504 into a Hotplate into an Orange 4x12 w/ 30
watt greenbacks. My other "live' head is an Ampeg V4 w/ a 2 KT66's and 2 Yellowjacket EL84's.

Reliability : No Opinion
Hasn't died on me yet & I don't think it will unless I try & kill it.

Customer Support : 10
Jaques is great. I've inquired about his pedals and he's even gone so far as to test his stuff on similar gear! Who else will bust out a hiwatt and firebird for a customer?

Overall Rating : 10
If Husker Du crashed their van into Tom Petty's rehearsal space while listening to a drunken Replacement's bootleg, it's sound alot like my band. Hear fr yrself at www.charmless.com !

It's easy to get sound out of it. Just plug it in. One side is a full range boost and the other is a treble boost. Each side has a volume knob.

Sound Quality : 6
My usual setup is my 96 Gibson SG standard -toneman rangemaster-amp.
To test the dd cup I removed the rangemaster from the signal chain.
The first thing I noticed was noise. The ddcup was noisy even when bypassed. I then systmatically went through each part of the signal chain to make sure the pedal was the culprit. I also tried carbon batteries. It still made twice as much noise as the rangemaster. Keep in mind that this was while the dd cup was BYPASSED! My Rangemaster was set at 75% gain and it was almost silent.

Reliability : 10
The housing looked strong. I liked the fact that you could change the battery without using a screwdriver.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I am sending it back to the dealer today.

Overall Rating : 5
I have a zvex super duper 2 in 1 which does the same type thing without the noise but is a bit more expensive. However the toneman rangemaster clone was only 100$ and it sounds even better than expected. In conclusion I must say that the name of the pedal originally influenced my interest in the pedal. For me it did not live up to my expectations- but if you've never used a zvex or a rangemaster then you might like it.

2 Knobs, esaier than Boss, You are a fucking idiot if you can;t do it...
It has two footswitches, BIG and POINTY.

Sound Quality : 10
Gibsons Les Pauls, 52 Telecaster, PRS... I am an vintage and boutique effect collecter. I use it for a Clean boost whe I donot want compression. Also to drive amps like JCM 800 to full thick overdrive modes. The treble boost I use for funk sounds. I use it alot with my wahs and envelope filters. It sometimes helps for boosting solos actually. I use both modes in one song when start off clean, then clean boost, then treble for ultra climax!!

Clean Boost (BIG): Very Organic and super clean. It sounds Sooooooooo clean that it is so fluid. It never gets distorted even at extreme settings. It is an amazing clean boost!! As good as my Zvex Super duper 2 in 1. The 2 in 1 is not as clean but good in another way. This side is very very very very very usable.

Treble (Pointy): Better, yes I said better than the so called almighty Dallas Rangemaster. Trust me, I've got both! It is so dam funky!! Amazing with wahs, specially colorsound ones. Dam good with a Mu-tron III or a EH Y triggered wah. It is not only funky. It is very good when I put is through an Ac30. It sounds like an improved Brian May. I use it ALOT to get Tony Iommi sounds! GREAT!!

Ofcourse, it does have 2 AC128 Germanium Tranisters, which I am in love it. They do deliver a distinctive tone of brightness.

I have NEVER given 10 to an effect, this is the first time! I can't think of anything at all wrong with this baby!!!!

Reliability : 10
Hard-core box. Cool writings, read good knobs and footswitches. 2 hardy LEDs. I have 2 other Jacque effects and they haven't broken down yet!!

Customer Support : 10
Jacques is a freak!!! He replies e-mails in 5-10 minuets!

Overall Rating : 10
Vintage/classic rock, Alternative, little metal. If it was stolen I will get one again. It is the best overall boost I have ever used!! I love the organic tones. There is NOTHING I can think of that I hate about this baby. Better thand Dallas Raqngemaster. Better thand Zvex Super Duper 2 in 1 (a close match) and better than any of the other boutique stuff.
I wish it had nothing else. Leave it alone, Jacques. You can't improve it!!
I have never given such an amazing review. I think I have betrayed myself!!

two knobs, two buttons, hey i can do it! the two germanium transistors interact, so with one working and the other one drawn back totally or souped up totally, the sound gets cut a bit, which is nice is some situations.

Sound Quality : 10
ok, this is a double germanium bootser - a fullrange unit and a treble boost unit. so, some hissing is desired - hey this is a highly professional boutique pedal! i use it with a variety of amps and guitars and i think rory gaalgher, early clapton and other sounds that require some germanium/rangemaster tone lurk around the corner.

Reliability : No Opinion
i own it for about a day, i don't know yet, but as jacques gives lifetime warranties, he can't afford to build things lightweightedly!

Customer Support : 10
jacques is a pedal specialists and a great communicative guy. he definitively knows about pedals, You bet! email him and he'll reply very soon.

Overall Rating : 10
i play rock, soul, blues, funk and pop. this pedal offers the great comfort to boost amps with germanium transitors without having a) teeth melting treble and b) totally cranked 150watts! as there are TWO boost units in one, you can use fullrange and treble boost at once and adjust them to your needs. i think, most copyists of the legendary rangemaster can pack their bags - the great dd cup has arrived!

another thing is that it's always a great experience using germanium powered pedals with the guitar volume drawn back - sweet clean tones coming up!

so, anyone with a vox ac? or a fender or a plexi/jtm45 will dig this pedal for dd cup climax (check jacques homepage for details) and anything in between...
