2 knobs, 2 switches. Takes time to get the prime sound actually!!

Sound Quality : 9
I collesct botique and vintage effects. This pedal comes with a cardboard box with "The Fuse Blower" hand written on it and the Jacques Stamp on it. It has 2 instruction sheets inside. Also comes with 5 celluloid mother-of-pearl picks. The knobs are all NOS vintage babies!!
This is not noisy for a fuzz. It has a true bypass switch which is very good. I play a 52 tele, some custom made teles, LP custom, 58/59LP reissue, prs, Ibanez with Dimarzio... I use my Marshall TSL-100 through just one 4x12 the most nowadays. I do however have many other amps but I still go back to Marshalls. This effect sounds good when the fuzz knob is on full. To obtain a good sound the knob has to be at least on 2:00. The volume knob can go loud and I keep it at 7-8:00ish. It sounds like no other fuzz. Very unusual sounds can be obtained!! It is very organic indeed, even when it is fuzzy. Lovely chords can be played. I have vintage Germanium fuzz(mainly Tonebenders and other colorsound stuff) but this sounds different from all of them. Everyone knows Jimmy Page of Led Zep used tonebenders for fis famous crunch. Even with the 4 different vintage tonebenders I have I can't get the sound of "Communication Breakdown" With the FB I can!! It has that shoe box type nasal fuzz sound. Very very nice that way!! According to the sample settings, with the volume at 10-11:00, fuzz at 12:00 and the BLOW switch on, it sounds like a Maxed Hiwatt. I wouldn't know what that sounds like cause I don't have one, but this setting sure sounds good too!! ALWAYS play this effect through the clean channel. It is not an overdrive (Trust me!! I am an OD freak!!) The blow mode is kind opf strange... Like a volume boost in a way but adds more brightness, I think.

Reliability : 9
I ordered a custom one with a power supply feeding (The standard ones only take 9v Battery). The pedal seems hard core, the paint job/writting looks feeble as hell but looks good. The knobs are good!! What i am afraid about isa the BLOW switch. It takes a second to "Stablise", whatever the hell that means.... TRUE BYPASS!! I wouldn't bother with back up.

Customer Support : 7
Jacques is reasonablely good. BUT sometimes he has to be "reminded" to reply e-mails. Firendly when e-mails are replied.

Overall Rating : 8
I play from Classic rock to Zakk Wylde type chaos. I might not buy a new one if lost to be honest cause it is not very usable. I can only get a few good sounds from it... Comapred with the other fuzz I have (Colorsound, Vintage Big Muff Deluxe, Frantone Cream Puff, Zvex Fuzz Factory...) This one is unique. I am looking forward in buying a Sleep Talker soon!!

It's simple to get what you're looking for with the Fuse Blower. It has two overdrive/distortion modes: normal and Blow. There's a stomp switch that takes you between the two, and a switch that turn the pedal on and off. And nobs for volume and fuzz (though it's not a fuzzface type fuzz at all).

Sound Quality : 10
I use it with a '62 RI Strat and '65 Vibrolux, often also in line with (after) a Fulldrive 2. It works great in conjunction with other pedals. To me, it's an very natural--yet extremely intense--overdrive. It gives you a ton of sustain yet maintains clarity along with it. It doesn't sound at all like a normal fuzz or distortion box.

You can play chords with it much as you would with a ts808 type thing, with the added bonus that it offers the sustain and overall intensity you'd expect from a Rat or Hot Cake. My biggest impression of it is that it just doesn't sound like a guitar pedal . . it sounds like a maxed-out tube amp--it doesn't mess so much with your EQ in the way many dirt boxes do and it leaves you feeling still (for all its gain boost) intimately connected to your amp. Highly recommended.

Reliability : 9
It's handmade, and with care. Haven't had any problems. One cool thing about it is it works on a 9v battery and it doesn't need to be changed (even if the pedal is plugged at all times) for a long, long time. I've had it on my pedal board for a year (without any AC adapter going in) and I tested the battery just last week and it was still fresh!

Customer Support : 10
I've corresponded with Jacques about his other pedals and he has always been very helpful, and responds within 24hrs.

Overall Rating : 10
I'll just reiterate the the best things about the pedal here:
1) very intense overdrive and very natural sounding at same time
2) great sustain, particularly cool in the low registers
3) doesn't sound like a pedal
4) cool looking box
6) good for chords as well as solos at high gain
7) long, long battery life
8) true bypass

This is a permanent fixture on my pedal board--any pedal that does that for me gets a 10.

Easy to use. 2 knobs (volume and gain)...but the "blow" mode can be hard to tell if it is in or not because there is no led for it. It is a loud boost when you amp is turned down but when you are pushing some air the blow mode just has a bit more "hiss" and almost the same tone. You can only use it as a boost if you are playing at low volume on your amp. And when you hit "blow" it takes a few seconds to "fade-in".

Sound Quality : 7
This pedal sounds very different with various amp. Sounds great with my Tophat Club Royale...warm...but with my Matamp or Hiwatt it sounds very bright and a bit thin when playing at stage volume. I like it...I won't use it live anymore...but it is very cool to have "up my sleeve" for studio overdubs.

Kinda sounds like a "bright bigmuff with alot less bass and slightly less gain".

I have got some awesome tones with it. This is what I like it for...take a small amp (even a shitty little of the wall amp)...crank it...drive the hell out of the front end with this pedal (all knobs on 10)...stick a 57 in front of it and you have a cool Pumpkins/Sonic Youth ugly yet cool tone.

Reliability : No Opinion
it's only been a month...so far so good.

Customer Support : 5
Music Toyz are a little slow and don't return emails.

Overall Rating : 6
Cool pedal. I would not buy it again...but I might keep it around in my pedal collection.

Sounds great at low volumes with small amps...sounds bright and thin at loud volumes with big amps.

In one scenereo it is great...in the other it is not so great. It does have a cool vibe and seems to be made well.

sounds realy nice
clear has no tone suckage

it`s a cool little box
so i took out the guts and placed them in a standard alloy/steel box
voiding the warrenty but i dont care as the original box stays mint and it is very well proctected and made

Customer Support : 10
jacques is a nice man and allways answers my emails even tho he is real busy

Overall Rating : 10
honestly it is the best overdrive/fuzz/distortion i have ever heared without valves in it.
the sound of the boost kicking in is a classic sound from my childhood when i would cram everything into my old amp and it would sound as if it was about to die.

Only Vol and Fuzz controls, very easy to obtain what u need from this amazing box.

Sound Quality : 10
This is the right kind of distorsion for rock solos, the normal sound with the controls at max gives u sustain and rich tones, the 'blow' mode set u able to emulate the famous Jimi Hendrix's dive bombs. This is a pro box, not a copy of TS9 'cause its sound is totally apart from the rest, it gives u a lot of gain but will be your fingers to make the final difference!

Reliability : 10
I'm a pro musician, session man and I've performed with a lot of professional singers/bands, and this is become a fix pedal in my studio/live pedalboard since the first time I've used it; as u can see in my Official Web Page, Jaques handmade boxes are rare beauties and his new FUseBlower II will probably make more easy to have this kind of heaven distorsion in an amateur gear.
Check it out at www.TS808.com!

Jaques is very professional, his love for pedals and vintage instruments in general makes him like the Master Yoda of the guitar boxes. You will need a lot of culture in guitar effect's history to talk fluently with him! ;)
His custom support is ofcourse very fast (in less than 24 hours I've always get an answer, sometimes in less time!).

Overall Rating : 10
I play virtually in many kind of contests, like pop, blues, smooth jazz, industrial and sometimes contemporary music ... in all of this different contexts I use always the same gear when I play on my gtr (usually the '57 Fender Custom Strat), I can say that my gear is a fusion between vintage and modern synth machines (like the VG8EX or the GR30), and in all these cases the Fuse Blower gives to me a fantastic solo sound.

Ease of Use : 10
being a simple stompbox, it is easy to use.
besides, it works great with any gear.
I have used it direct for overdrive bass recordings.

Sound Quality : 9
this pedal has really its own tone, different from any existing distortion box. It is fuzz, but its ability to stand any chord can compare it to a very good overdrive.
This stompbox is starting to make itself a place among distortion stars.
It works perfect with a strat and a marshall tube amp.

Reliability : 8
it is hand-made and look reliable.
No problem reported with different users.

Customer Support : 9
the maker- jacques from jacques stompboxes www.ts808.com - is always ready to help via e-mail.

Overall Rating : 9
a rising star. very different while confortable from scratch, this distortion can become a standard, and I am not the only one to think this way.
perfect for "purple haze" rythm or electric blues solo.

Ease of Use : 9
this fuzz/boost unit is very easy to use: it has a fuzz, a volume knob, a on/off (true bypass!)footswitch and a footswitch switch to change between the two modes - first is the FUZZ mode, second is the BLOW mode. the pedal needs about 1-2 seconds to build up the voltage to change.
the BLOW mode delivers a gritty distortion with an enormous L-O-U-D boost! jacques says that it can destroy amps, so watch out!

Sound Quality : 10
i use every kind of electric guitar and bass with it.
when in FUZZ mode, the tone is distorted with a strong attack. the demos of sjacques on his homepage reminded me of jimmy page's sound on led zep 1, so i ordered it immediately! i think, the sound of "whole lotta love" is in store with the fuse blower.
in the BOOST mode, there's a monstrous volume boost and still a broken overdrive. it reminds me of hendrix' crunch tones with the fuzz face and it's similar to fully cranked hiwatt amps (kinda sick tone!).
the fb goes very well with the bass, too: there's not much equalization required...
the fb is kinda noisy in the BOOST mode, but i think it's really o.k. compared to a rangemaster-type treble booster.

Reliability : 5
i own this tool for about a month and won't take it to gigs. in BOOST mode, the controls can't be souped up totally, some internal feedback occurs, due to the high internal level,i guess. i prefer to be cautious, but i don't think i have to!
in case, i will have to take some booster/fuzz with me to kick the backline amps, this is my choice: this tool is sheer ANARCHY!!!

Customer Support : 10
jacques gives life-time warranty on his machines! do i have to tell You more?

this is one of the meanest machines in this and any galaxies! if You're hunting for late 60's/70''s tones - it should be Your choice. if You're complaining about fuzzes not cutting through, this should be the answer for You.
