It takes some work to set the amp right to get the most out of a good treble booster but it's worth it.

telecaster ( bridge PU - tone backed off a LOT ) >>> treble booster >>>> bixonic expandora >>>>> gibson GA15 RV amp - triode mode - 7.5 watts. Not noisy at all used this way. It sounds absolutely awesome at gig volume ( amp turned up 3/4 ) either on its own or combined with the expandora. I leave it on the full treble boost mode ( toggle switch down ) and the gain stays at 9:00 - at this setting it is only a slight increase in volume compared with the guitar straight in. I get the sound I want which is an edgy - almost brittle british type punk sound with a lot of midrange growl and sizzle - I suppose with any EL84 amp it would be like this. The best two songs I can think of to describe what it's GREAT for are "are you gonna be my girl" and "my sharona" - but also any kinks or who song - absolutely divine! I have always loved my tele bridge tone straight into a class A EL84 amp - but adding this pedal is the icing on the cake.

This is my second Jacques pedal - very special company I think - Incredible workmanship - you just know how good these pedals are when you hold them in your hand. High quality like USA products were in the pre labor union days.

I've played 40 years - owned hundreds of stompboxes, at least 100 guitars and 30 amps (I'm an addict - but happy addict !! ) I play in a cover band - all the goofy stuff people dance to - this is the 4th treble booster I have tried to work into my sound and this one clicked in like magic - the key was to turn the treble DOWN on the guitar and the volume UP on the amp. Now I get what all the hype is about treble boosters. This is one box that I would replace if lost.
