The sound quality of this pedal is astounding. I have been playing 45 years and I also own a Blue. This particular pedal works great regardless of what amp I play through. It works particularly well though a Class A tube amp. I own all kinds of amps and guitars and it captures what I call "the holy grail" tone, or the best Overdriven natural tone bar none and cleans up well on guitar volume naturally. Brad Jetter has nailed it!

I am happy to write thew first review on the "Purple" It was very easy to get a great sound out of the OD. I just fiddled with the controls and low an behold a Plexi Sound from a Fender Super Reverb.

I followed the advise of the web site guru about which piece of Jetter Gear I should buy. With my Les Paul Standard with "57 PU's into my Super Reverb Reissue with a Mercury Magnetics Tranny upgrade.

I have played Guitar for 40 Years. Lots of variety in my Music but mostly R&B, Blues, Pop,
I rediscovered Fender amps about 10 years ago. I now have a Fender Vibroverb from the Fender custom shop and a Super Reverb RI. The Mercury Magnetics Tranny Upgrade made the difference with The SR. I just love the sound that The Purple produces with the Humbucking PU's. Lots of Gain and violin like sustain. The passive tone control is also very musical in all settings. I run the volume on about 3 and the gain at about 6-7. Amp Tone Bass at 6 Mids at 5 treble at 7-8 My amp is at 4 (Playing in Church now) I sometimes use a SIB Fat Drive for a boost. Also on the same pedal board is a Fulltone Choral Flange, a Fulltone Tremelo and a Boss DD-20 Delay modul. My OD was the TS-808 ( Before the Purple). I will still use it for variety. It has a great sound also but just different.
