Lick it and stick it. It's velcro, if you can't use it by now you have deeper issues.

I bought this pedal board on eBay because it was cheep and provided power to my 5 pedals. I didn't need anything fancy so this was perfect. Upon setting it up it didn't work. The power would fail as soon as I plugged in more than one pedal. The person who sold it to me gave me the shaft so I emailed Axis.

The guy who responded to me sent me a new power strip for it and even emailed me to make sure I got it and that it worked. In the day and age where most customer service is outsourced by people who don't know the product and can't speak the language where the product is being sold clearly enough for me to understand them I was GREATLY SURPRISED by how cool Axis, who owns Johnson, was to work with.

It will definitely make me take a look at Axis owned products when I am looking to buy gear.

Don't be concerned by how cheap the price is on this product. If it's broke, they'll fix it!

This Johnson FX-BRD powered pedal board did not come with instructions but chances are if you bought one, you know what to do. The power stip contains six power outlets. Simply attach the supplied Velcro to the bottom of your pedals and stick them to the carpeted board. Power leads are long enough so you can place any pedal anywhere on the board without any trouble. The supplied power supply is about 6' long. To power up the unit, simply plug it in and an LED indicates that the unit is plugged in and powered up.

My setup is Fender 1989 American Standard or Ibanez Artcore AS83>Crybaby Wah Wah>BOSS OD3>BOSS DS1>DOD Death Metal> Original Ibanez CS-9 Chorus into Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue tube amp. This board did not add any noise to my setup at all. I play mostly blues and pop/classic rock...the Death Metal is in there for shits and giggles really.

Reliability : 7
The board and bag both seem very study. The carpeting seems to be the weak point of this item as it doesn't look like carpet. It looks like the fuzzy stuff that used to cover Fender solid state amps in the 80's. The loops pull out when you reposition pedals which will eventually make it difficult to keep pedals secure. It's almost as though the fibres pull off the board because the velcro holds too strongly to it. If you frequently change your setup, the carpet will eventually "wear out".

The power section of the unit seems sturdy.

I have not had to deal with the company directly.

I've been playing for 17 years and this is the first pedal board I've owned. I purchased it to keep the clutter down in my house and to easily transport my pedals when I go out to jam - I don't gig. If it were lost - I'd buy another. I compared this to the Stomp 6 made by SKB and this unit ha identical features at less than half the price. Perhaps SKB had better carpet on the board. It does a great job of keeping my pedals organized and easily transportable. It has also reduced the time it takes to setup and start playing.

OK--it is what it is. I pretty much agree with the review below. Ease of use? Little stuff--zipper gets hung up on the velcro board hold downs that secure the board in the bag when you zip & unzip the bag. The bag is real top heavy so when you open it to lift the board out it will go over backwards and can dump the whole deal if you are balanced on top of an amp or something (learned the hard way). Pictures I see on ebay show the board sitting in an upside-down bag. The big side of the bag is what goes up---the board sits in the shallow side. This is minor stuff but just thought I'd mention it.

Hard as I try, I can't get it to make sound. OK, seriously, no hum from the power supply. Build quality? You get what you pay for. The D rings for the shoulder strap are too weak for the bag's weight and they straighten out and come off. Go to the hardware store and get better rings. The carpeting, as stated below, will be threadbare with too much velcro pulling.

Reliability : No Opinion
This will not last forever but I expect to get my $$'s worth.

It is what it is and for my needs it is just fine. I even keep expensive stuff in it---in fact I DO have a Rotosphere on board. If you are planning on chucking it in the back of the car or putting it on the bottom of your gear cart with a Twin on top of it you deserve whatever will happen. If you plan to handle your stuff with care and you aren't ready to spend a couple of bills on a pro-level pedal board--hey, not bad. It's a nice medium size too--good comromise between a tiny 3-pedal board and a board that covers the whole damned bandstand.

Not much to figure out...plug in power tranformer(9v,500mA,included). It has a power distribution panel with six 1/8" female phone jacks and status LED. Included are eight power cables all with 1/8" male phone jacks on the the "source" end, six(or was it 5?..can't find one) of which have "standard" barrel connector on the other end, one has battery adapter and two have 1/8" male phone jack. All jacks, except the battery adapter and the transformer, are right-angle. The power transformer may be under-rated for your use, but can be substituted with one that has more output...add up your pedal amperage requirements. Good amount of two-inch velcro(loop side only) included for sticking pedals to carpet covering. Nice zippered case with pouch and shoulder strap included.

Sound Quality : 8
No hum from transformer. My present lineup is a Boss TU-2 tuner, Ibanez TS-9, Dunlop Crybaby with older 1/8" power jack, Boss DD-3 delay and CH-1 chorus. No problem with power. I have another power supply and cables so my options are covered. I use a variety of amps and guitars: Fender Blues Deluxe, Super Reverb, '54 Deluxe, Kay 703, Univox Ulm6...Strato"blaster", Tele, 70's Epiphone Riviera, '63 Teisco with incredibly huge headstock, none of which relates to this product functionality. I admit it...I'm a ratpacker, but not as bad as many of you!!!

Reliability : 7
I purchased this after comparing with much better(and pricier)boards. My current needs and expectations are met. The power supply jack should be unplugged when putting the board in the case to avoid putting stress on the cable(right angle jack would be an improvement). Overall,if treated with reasonable care, I think it will hold up well. The carpet is light and will eventually pull loose if you change things around a lot. Oh yeah, did I mention that this thing reeked of contact cement...I had to air it out for a couple of days, and it had a bit of glue on the topside...what do you expect for Chinese communist slave-labor and the price??? There is a half-assed attempt at putting self-stick foam rubber on the front leading edge...the front is elevated to angle the board.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Hahahahahahaha....maybe if you get a DOA you can get a replacement from the seller....I wouldn't know about anything else.

I play blues, rock, folk, country...hell, it's all good...well maybe not c-RAP. Started playing when the Brits invaded...not 1812, I mean those mop-headed lads from Liverpool. I'd buy this item again unless I start gigging a lot more; I'd get something more rugged. Anything I wish I had??? Lordy, Lordy, where to begin...how about a Rotosphere, or my bass player's Leslie cabinet...more guitars, oh yeah...more is ALWAYS better!
