Quite easy to use. Crank all the knobs to the right and you get a mild chorus.

Sound Quality : 3
Weak, thin almost non-existent sound. At least it doesn't add anything *bad* to your tone.

Reliability : 5
Would not use it on a gig. It's 'built like a tank' as too many bedroom guitar heroes say on this forum, but as useful as a paperweight.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with the company.

I have Strat copy with a Kahler-- that's how long I've been playing. This box would be useful for splitting your signal to send to a couple amps. Otherwise its a terrific paperweight.

This pedal sounds very good at all. It??s easy to adjust the 5 knobs to your personal feel. All settings are very effective.

Sound Quality : 10
I like to combine the chorus with distortion. This is, where this pedal is really good. It des not alter the basic sound. It just adds a mild chorus effect which harmonizes very well. I tried several alternative pedals like Jacques Meistersinger and VoodooLab Chorus. But none of this high price effects are such carefull with your basic sound.

Hm, this is a cheap china type of pedal. When I received it, it does not work. I opened it and found a missing ground connection. After repair it works well and I think it will last now for many years...

I play Rock and Latinrock. My setup is a Marshall 1974X with Fender Deluxe Telecaster and Keeley Compressor, Boss SD-1 and Johnson Chorus. I tried the Johnson because of its attractive pricing. Now I am surprised: You can get a very good sound for small money !

I'll give it a 7 on ease of use. The manual does not explain very well what the lo and hi cut knobs do very well. They are useful though in shaping the chorus to the sound you want. The rate, depth, and mix knobs have obvious functions.

My set up:
various hondos, a kay, or a teisco guitar into
Boss BD-2 blues driver
EHX Frequency Analyzer
SC-2 Johnson Chorus
Dano Tuna Melt
Arion SAD-3 Analog Delay
Fender Champ

I don't think this pedal is true bypass, so there is a tiny bit of noise.

I can get mellow, tinny, and also warbly sounds out of it. I use the mellow sound along with my other pedals to create lush textural chords, and I use the tinny sound when I am doing harder music and I need more trebly sound to accentuate the natural harmonics I use. The warbly sound is for experimental music and noise james.

I have a wide range of favorite artists. This box won't make me sound like any one of them alone, because it is just a chorus.

Reliability : 7
The 1/4" jacks are a bit weak, but if you have a serious gigging kit, you should have the tools to tighten them up if they start to wear thin on you. I'd use it without back up.

I play alternative music- a mix of shoegazer, gothic, post-punk, and post-hardcore. I have been playing for 5 years.

If it were lost or stolen, I would probably get a dano chorus and go from there.

Best feature is the hi and lo cut, worst feature is the crappy 1/4" jacks.

Nothing I really wish it had, it does it's job.

Chorus is just an after-thought. Sometimes simple modulation effects influence me to write music. The only pedal that really helps me write is the frequency analyzer.

Standard knobs for rate depth and FX mix, plus to hi cut and low cut knobs.

Sound Quality : 9
Actually this one sounds really good - when using the extreme settings. Warm, lush chorus, even comparable to my 80's t.c. SCF chorus pedal on moderate settings. It is not capable of producing any spectacular special effects, and the chorus sound is only strong enough for my taste when using extreme settings for depth and FX mix. I wish the rate range would be bigger i.o. to get vibrato like sounds out of it but - well, regarding the price it is a pretty good chorus sound.
The filter knobs have a pretty moderate effect, actually the could have let them out.

Reliability : 9
I've had it only for a day, so no road test available yet. But I was surprised how well built they were regarding their price (I also baought the Tuner and the delay, see other reviews). Die cast aluminum housing, metal pots screwed to the housing, I would say, it's comparable to a standard 80's Ibanez quality. However I had to tighten some screws so I give only 9 points.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
I thought about putting it onto my pedal board (at the moment I only have the wahwah, other effects coming from my Replifex in the FX loop), because I got appetite for floor pedals. They're more flexible in terms of quickly getting sounds to experiment a bit.
So this is an "honour" for this cheap thing!

Johnson SC-2 Stereo Chorus foot pedal....High and low EQ "filter" knobs, level knob for overall volume level of the whole effect, Rate knob for how fast or slow the chorus cycles, and depth knob of how much chorus the effect will produce...there is a manual that explains the effect as well as gives the signal noise ratio that is very clean

Sound Quality : 9
the sound qaulity is a mild chorus, it's not as lush as the Ibanez CS-9 perse. It does have a unique chorus sound, it doesn't "de-tune" the pitch like some other companies chorus effects...that's why I say it's rather "mild" The main reason I like this effect is that it doesn't "boost" the overall signal from the guitar like the Ibanez chorus and other companies...also the high and low filters allow you to fine tune the tone to match your guitars sound....at flat the effect sounds "tinny" but if you add the low filter; you will match your guitar tone...the stereo aspect is very wide and spacial which is nice if you're bi-amping or running into a sounboard "stereo" (2 inputs). Like I said this pedal sounds unique...it doesn't sound like a classic chorus effect from a Jazz Chorus amp , or the Ibanez, or Boss, I can't put my finger on any other guitarist that's using this sound at the moment. I like the sound of this pedal with distortion, the chorus effect blends nice whereas many other companies chorus pedals are too "phase" like with distortion...this pedal is analog so it does sound fairly warm , compared to other digital chorus pedals

This isn't the sound of the Cobain chorus sound...this is a nice "mild" chorus sound that I like since I bi-amp alot for my rock set up...really nice chorus sound

Reliability : 9
I haven't had the pedal that long, and I don't use batteries since it's hooked into my pedal board with DC power. It is metal housed and the action of the engagement is similar to a Boss effect. The knobs are stable and turn well, I will gig with it...

it seems OK to me....

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never had to deal with Johnson company...they are part of conglomerate company...my pedal came with a nice AXL connector that is made by the same company that owns johnson...I think this stuff is made in China , but again I don't discount the quality

Overall Rating : 9
This is a great pedal especially for the price...I got mine for 45.00 dollars with shipping and it came with a AXL connector , all metal housing, and the effect sounds really good , I'm interested in johnson's other pedals , they appear really nice...

I play alot of rock and jazz....this pedal works great for both , especially for jazz if you want a mild nice chorus effect

great effect, good qaulity, and awesome price...if you're on a budget these are good effects especially the metal housing...!

This is a Johnson Stereo Chorus. Its pretty easy to use, with High and Low filters, Effect Level, Rate and Depth controls. Its not hard to get a good sound out of it. The High and Low filters make it easy to fine tune the sound.

Sound Quality : 9
My setup is an 84 Les Paul Custom with a Dimarzio Super Distortion bridge, and PAF Pro neck pickup. This is run into a Dunlop Wah, Ibanez Slam Punk distortion, Ibanez DE-7 Delay/Echo, Johnson chorus, and Danelectro Fish and Chips EQ. This is all run into a Marshall AVT50 half stack.
I can imitate just about any guitar sound I want to with this set up. Ive been playing for 20 plus years and have learned that you dont always have to get the expensive toys to sound good.

Reliability : 10
I have had this pedal for over three years and use it every day. Its built to take a beating and certainly has. I would rate this in the Boss effect catagory for durability. I have gigged with it numerous times and it never fails.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had a problem and I bought it from one of those traveling super sales. In my book Johnson makes some good stuff and I see no reason to ever deal with customer support.

Overall Rating : 10
I play mostly rock and metal. I've had a ton of pedals in my time and nothing has been easier to use than this one. If it were stolen I would definately get another one just like it. I like the ability to fine tune the pedal with the filters. Highly recommended and hopefully others will see the quality for the money too.
