Ease of Use : 10
It only has three knobs: Depth, waveform, and rate. Simple stuff.

Sound Quality : 8
It sounds fine. Heck, for thirty bucks it sounds fantastic. There isn't a whole lot of room to really one-up the competition with a tremolo. Mine isn't noisy (I run it between a Schecter C-1 E/A and a Marshall AVT150 head), and it does everything it needs to.

Reliability : 6
It works fine, but the output has come loose. I tried to tighten it like any moderately bright human being would, but it doesn't seem to tighten whatsoever. I'm too lazy to really look into the problem, and it doesn't really cut out, so... whatever.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't dealt with them.

I've been playing for about six years. I play basically anything... but I'm mildly centered around indie and progressive metal. I'm not entirely certain what I would do if it were stolen. A loose output jack seems like too minor of an ordeal to want to pay the (what is it... $90?) for a Boss tank. Plus it gives your pedalboard some visual variety since it's longer than a typical box. There isn't anything to love or hate about it. It's a normal tremolo. It does what it should, and it's outrageously cheap.

I was surfing ebay for a used tremolo pedal and happened upon this pedal. It carries the JOHNSON name.I dont know if its a part of the Johnson amps company. It is made in china.I got it in the mail and quickly stuck it inline with my guitar and amp.Oh-by the way,i picked this up "new" for $22.00+shpg. Anyway,i hooked it up with the battery supplied and it worked for about 10 minutes before the battery died. OK,i didnt think i would even get a battery at the price,so i stuck an adapter to it with the correct volt/plrty and it sounded alot better. The pedal is realy pretty nice. The design reminds me of Boss pedals, unscrew the front knob, lift the foot stomper to get at the battery. Also the control knobs are located toward the back and recessed like Boss's. The overall construction is not-bad. I give this a 6 only because the front screw seems alittle cheesey. I mean its not Boss quality, the screw seems like it might stip out after awhile or quicker if your a impatient musician with a good beer buzz going. But you could always re-tap it and put a better screw in it.

Ok, the sound quality test. I usually like to run a new pedal in a clean channel right off the get go. This tremolo pedal sounds good! Its not a boutigue/great vintage pedal, but i was impressed. It has a pretty nice warm anolog tremolo sound. I mainly wanted a tremolo for one song we do anyway. It has a nice speed control or rate. Also has a wave control which shapes the sound and a knob for depth. I found out that buy running my effect pedal chain in a loop to my effects loop it quieted my signal considerably. This pedal was not noisey. I use a Marshall Jcm2000 DSL 50 head for my main amp and a Crate stealth GT50H head for a back-up. They are both all tube {PCB} amps and my cabinet is a HIWATT 4x12 with celestion vin-30's. I gave this an 8 because i am getting to point where i dont like the digital effect thing and for the money these pedals are not bad sounding. Maybe its a midlife analog syndrom thing?

Reliability : No Opinion
These are relatively new to my arsenal, so i will see how they perform.

Over all these pedals kick-ass! I know they are not as good quality as Boss or whoever. But for the money they are worth checking out. I have 3 of them now. The tremolo, chorus, and the EQ-Distortion. They all sound good, warm ,and not tinny and digital. Probably not a pedal you want to run right into a recording consoule, but for playing live i can see these very usefull. If any one knows more about these pedals drop me a line. I have not seen these in any cataloges yet, like i said i won these on ebay NEW. I was almost to the point of bidding over $70 for a old used voo-doo pedal. I am glad i saved some cash on this tremolo pedal, actually i saved enough to buy 2 more Johnson pedals----COOL!!!
