Ease of Use : 8
easier to use than other multi effects pedals and the like, definately easier to use that that GT6 from Boss. If you read the manual its is pretty easy.

Sound Quality : 6
the amp styles do no tsound at all like it boasts, the brit stack setting sounds like a peavy starter amp. the only good one i used was the metal one and the tube one.

Reliability : 3
My output jack has broken twice already, and ive had it for two years. finally I said to hell with it and i eventually got myself a Line 6 POD Pro. but i had to spend 45 dollars to get the new output jack. if you are rough on it, it will break and be very annoying. and less than 3 weeks after i got it sand got into the board on it and the buttons were stuck in th down position. Now I am steering far away from delicate multi effects pedals, be cause you step in a pile of shit and then you get it on your pedal and all hell breaks loose.

Customer Support : 4
i called korg to get the new peice and they gave me the run around. Call here, call there, oh thats our parts department. FUCK!!! i finally go tthe peice after 3 weeks with a broken pedal.

Overall Rating : 5
stay away from this thing. go with the GT6, it is harder to learn, but its all metal casing will protect it for the crap that you step in and gainst any accidental drops of it

I'm not the most experience guitarist and i haven't used any other fx pedals but i worked out how to use this within an hour and i didn't even use the manual.

Sound Quality : 9
Could be slightly better but it does everything i want it too and sounds good at the same time!

Reliability : 9
Very reliable. Even though it's plastic i can't see it breaking without a sledgehammer involved. I have a few effects that have changed their name by themselves somehow but if you have half a brain cell between your ears you should be able to work out whats what if the same happens to you.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not had to deal with them.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I bought this used off ebay and the only slight problem i have had is the display going slightly wrong (As i said before). But still for the price, this is an ideal pedal for anyone on a tight budget or just a beginner! if you are thinking of buying this GO FOR IT! you will not regret it at all.

I also own a Digitech RP100 (which is for sale) and the Korg works as easy as the RP. Without the manual you'll be playing and editing within 2 hours. Reading the manual will shorten it by one hour.

Sound Quality : 8
I use the Korg with my Squier Strat (MIJ mid 80's) and my Epi LP with Seymour Duncan pups. My amp is a Laney LC15 all tube amp.
The presets on the AX100G all sound horrible with one or two exceptions. It takes some tweaking before they sound good.

The amp simulations are acceptable. On the RP100 they did sound a little bit better (default) and brighter, but the Korg does produce some wonderfull sounds. It takes more tweaking to make the amps sound convincing but in the end they sound more realistic than on the RP (not too digital).

The cabinet sims are excellent! On the RP they sounded muffled but the Korg it makes the sound come alive.

Most of the effects are good too. Chorus, flanger etc sound very good and so do most of the reverbs. The delay however sounds like crap.
The wah really surprised me! I did not expect it to sound as good as it does because on the RP it sounded very bad. It responds good to the pedal. One thing I miss is a way to delete the unnecessary effects like Ringmodulation... who would ever use that?

So far I've tried to get the sounds of three of my favorite guitarists (SRV, Santana and Gary Moore). SRV was quite difficult to get right. This patch still misses some brightness and will need some more tweaking. Gary Moore was easier and sounds very good. The Carlos Santana sound I got with the amp sim set to heavy metal and turning the gain way down. This gave me the perfect "Samba Pa Ti" sound that I was unable to get on my RP100. This is propably the closest I will ever get with my gear trying to emulate any guitar hero and brings a smile to my face every time I select this patch.

Is the AX100G noisy? Only on high gain sounds but that is kinda normal on any device. Real amps tend to produce noise on those settings too. The noise reduction on this device is acceptable, not brilliant.

Reliability : 8
Although it is made of plastic it is quite strong. I don't think it will last if you do a lot of gigging but I don't do gigs...
I use it as a practicing tool in my living room and for that it is strong enough.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with em...

Overall Rating : 8
I bought this to replace my RP100 that I bought for headset practicing. Although it sounded good enough for me I bought the Korg. The RP100 does not have a CD input and I like to play along with CD's. For this the AX100G is a very good tool. It does have a lot more features than the RP100 and it sounds as good as and sometimes better.

If stolen or lost I think I'll buy it again if I could find another used one.

The AX100 has really nice sound and some awesome effects I hadn't heard elsewhere. I didn't have to read the whole manual to operate unit which is a blessing as I think I suffer from ADD. Just press the button by the effect type and tweak using the knobs, hit write once check location and hit write once more and it's stored. Much easier than that Digitank junk Mayan code.

Sound Quality : 10
Tom Anderson Classic gtr, AX100 and a real '57 twead Fender Deluxe are my rigs other components. I have some favorite simple classic FX, but I'll step out with some more ellaborate FX too like the intelligent pitch shifter, feed-backer, filter and slow attack.
I play in a funk/ nu-metal/ rock/ jazz group with keys, bass, drums & sax. Material and influences from Tower of Power, J. Brown, STP, Steely Dan And Whitesnake.
The distortions, compression, phase shifter, chorus/ flng, delays and reverbs are amazing compared to Digitech's RP series.
Gain structure and noise reduction are easy to understand and use on this unit, I've never had any noise generated by the proccessor.
2 programable drive and EQ setting per program... neat.

Reliability : 10
It has refused to die, so far.
In the past I've bought $200-ish proccessors and destroyed them on stage after 14 or so months, this 1 will be 3 yrs old this year.

I don't want to play dry all night, I gotta have sounds, the AX100 is a really fine sounding little box.
I have incorperated some of this boxes tricks (feed-backer & intlgnt ptch shft) so I'd have to buy another unit if it is stolen.
The cable router is brilliant, this keeps my cable free from the exp pedal, also an LED display next to the exp shows the current exp pdl's position. Phrase looper is handy even if it is just 6 or 8 seconds, backward gtr is cool.
I compared to Digitech which I've owned before, Digitech's RP series besides lacking the AX100's features, lacked "TONE" brittle and hard, though it did have a metal chasis. Roland / Boss had the ME-30 or 33 at the time, it just didn't seem as easy or sound any better for more $.
The rhythm patterns sound better than the competitors.

you've gotta pay attention to the manual when you try to understand all the capabilities of this device! that means slowly and systematically read from page 1 to the end with the device in hand (under foot)...it's reasonably complicated and challenging to figure out, but gratifying when you do know all the features

Sound Quality : 9
there are obviously alot of sounds here...primarily i bought this to use for the sound effects in a shakespeare play (worked nicely for that, especially the ring modulator with the pedal)...this device is similiar to the digitech rp100 in most of its features except that it seems like the rp100 overall has more treble response (clarity, presence?) and a few more and better rock drum patterns, but then doesn't have the feedbacker, backwards guitar sound, or the 8 ro 16 second endless loop sound sampling capability which you can play over (if you use these features)...the feedbacker is kind of cool, but i doubt whether you'll use this much after you satisfy your curiosity upon hearing it (there's a slight delay before a hit note sustains and then begins feedbacking)...as a beginning intro to the world of guitar effects, you probably can't go wrong with one of these, but in short time you'll find that you really prefer to only use one or two effects anyway, hence the natural evolution (devolution?) to a few, choice stompboxes

Reliability : 7
only had it a short time...i don't think it's gig-worthy though...plastic constuction looks and feels reasonably durable playing in your bedroom with your shoes off, but not for stage use...pedals are too small anyway

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
a nice little multi-effects device that is a good gift or intro to the world of guitar effects processor sounds, it's got them all...check out the korg website for a nice video demonstration...remember this is plastic, not metal...and the built-in expression pedal is definitely too small for serious gigging, let alone bedroom use...the unit is not heavy or stable enough for that small pedal, the unit tends to tip when you use the small pedal...for the life of me i don't know why they bother building a too-small pedal into a unit like this...offering it as a plug-in like on the rp-100 is a better way

I really like this pedal. there is so much you can do with it. Editing patches is pretty simple. the manuel sux bad though, i pretty much had to figure everything out myself.

Sound Quality : 9
I have an Ibanez GAX70 my effects chain is, guitar==>Fender PT-10 pedal tuner==>Toneworks AX100G==>Boss DS-1==>Danelecto 'rish and chips' equalizer==>Fender Princeton Chorus. I haven't experienced any really bad hissing or humming sounds. some effects are useless, others i couldn't live without. I really like the 'Priest' distortion. The wah is very nice. good phaser, phlanger. chorus is decent, i use the one on my amp. I don't like the Acoustic Simulator. the 'vintage' setting gives a nice light distortion in my opinion. I can't get the loop/sample function to work, but apparently it can be easly fixed by the looks of the other reviews. I really like the drum patterns. my band doesn't have a steady drummer, so it works ok as a drummer.

Reliability : 9
I've had mine for about 8 months. its never broken down or anything. from what i can tell, its pretty sturdy, even though its plastic. just don't jump on it. i've stomped mine pretty good and it hasn't hurt it. I've played about 3 or 4 gigs with it and it works fine. I don't need a backup

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them

Overall Rating : 9
I play mostly Alt. rock and melodic metal and stuff like that, I wish it had a program with more of a metallica/megadeth sound. but this pedal works very well for me. I've been playing almost 3 years. if it were lost, i think i would buy another one. my music writing has definatly got better due to the drum machine. This is a great multi-fx for the $. buy it.

Ease of Use : 10
The unit Is very easy to use, but that's because there arn't too much parameters, some effects don't have parameters at all like the wah pedal for example... and volume pedal.
Editing pathes is done by turning the knobs while the current paramter is activated, this will switch to manual mode and after editing you just hit the write button and everything is saved. very easy.
The manual is great, short, staight and direct, but it is not needed too much.

Good sound are hard to ge when the possibilities are great, in this device the possibilities are very few so you get the sounds it offers.

You van choose the drive amp that comes with a 3 band EQ and that's it.

Sound Quality : 6
I Used An Ibanez RG550 guitar through the AX100G to the Input of a crate G60XL and a marshall Valvestate I 40W.

The effect unit is a little noisy on high gains and compressor effect, noise gate reduces there sounds along with your guitar signal...
Effects are OK, but again they have a few parameters.

This units get's no artists sound...
Distortions are mostly bad, only 2 of them are good.
cab simulator is really bad.
NR is bad.
Peadal Wah is good.

I wouldn't use it in a gig because when you change patch it mutes for a sec and your sound is cut off.

Reliability : 5
No. I wouldn't use it at a gig at all, somtimes when you press the next patch button it skips a patch and goes to the second next patch.

Pedal doesn't always work!!! it's like the software is stuck and you have to reset the pedal effect. I.E. turning it off and on.

Plastic Made.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never delt with them.

Overall Rating : 7
I play Rock, Blues and Andy timmons style of music.
It does all styles it's good for a beginner, so is the price.

Interesting thing, i found some kid to buy it from my, he paid me 250$.
100$ gain for me.

Next unit will be boss gt-6,3

Very Easy, editing is easy

Sound Quality : 8
What i use most the distortions are good, solid but i think they could be better like more metal, i wanted a more metal sound kind of Megadeth . its noisy a little ,not too much. Like i said some effects are good like the NiN distortion changed to metal. Also the Sampler is very good for metal.my amps are a peavey envoy 110 and a avt100 marshall. the Satch(satriani) effect is very good very clear and with good harmonics.
But what i play is True Metal(Iron Maiden,Helloween,Megadeth,Gamma Ray etc..)not the crap like Korn, papa roach etc....

Reliability : 3
DONT USE IT ON A GIG BECAUSE ITS PLASTIC
THE THING IS VERY SENSIBLE ,TAKE CARE OF IT YOU CAN BREAK OR SOMETHNG LIKE THAT VERY EASY.

THEYRE NOT HELPFUL BECAUSE I LIVE IN MEXICO AND THEY ARE IN THE FU... JAPAN OR KING KONG IN CHINA ..!!1

Ibeen playing electric for more than 3 years im looking forward to buy a BOSS maybe the GT-6 ,because for giging i need some real, ready to rock, unbreakable stuff. I Play Heavy Metal,Classic Rock, and crap commercial songs that i have to play with the band of my school..if i lost it well i do lost it already BECAUSE THE DAMN THING ONLY WORKED WITH THE AC POWER SUPPLY FOR A YEAR,AND NOW ONLY WORK WITH BATTERIES

The board is easy to use for the most part... but requires major tweaking to make any of the effects sound good.

Sound Quality : 5
I use a Marshall amp w/ an assortment of guitars.

The AX100G isn't really "noisy" or anything, it's just not clear sounding. It has a weak bite to it. I love the Nine Inch Nails distortion... it actually sounds high quality. The Jazz setting has a nice ring to it... tho most of the effects are not up to my standards.

Reliability : 5
I doubt I'd use it for a gig due to the plastic and the chance of moving a dial and screwing up the whole setup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I play all types of music in my 13 years of playing... and this just isn't what I was looking for. If you're a beginner or intermediate player this could be just what you're looking for. The value is very good however. In sound equipment... we all know... you have to pay for great stuff usually. This however, is a fantastic value.

Without using the Manual I managed most of the Functions within a few Hours. Very Good, ´cause it is very easy to handle! Like others mentioned before, there is a Hook with the Sample/Loop Funktion! The Pedal´s Rubber doesn´t get deep enough to touch the switch for
starting the Recording Mode. I thought about fixing it with Tape or so, but now I just put up the Pedal and use my little Finger to do this.

Sound Quality : 9
I gave it a 9, because of the Volume and the Acoustic and Compressor Sounds that could be much better. For working with Amps the Volume is o.k., but over Headphone the Level is simply not loud enough. And who needs such things as a damn Ring Modulator? They could have spared it and put in something better instead. Same is with the Maj, Min, 4th crap. For me it´s absolutely useles. Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Reverb, Slow Attack and Wah Effects are pretty o.k., but simply no High Class.
I also found that the Cabinet Simulator cuts a lot of Dynamic. So I don´t use it.
On the other Hand the Distortion Sounds are really great, for that I would give it a 10! It lasted a Day, but then I found the Clou getting wonderful Crunchy Sounds out of it.
My Strat started singing and I found myself playing Hours and Hours to a Drum Groove. PEOPLE, YOU HAVE TO WORK WITH THIS MACHINE!!! Then you can get real good Sounds that are much more powerful than from many other Multi-FX. Don´t get fooled by the Preset Patches. They mostly sound bad, but the AX100G can do a lot more! Try these: (best Result with Strat-type Guitars, Bridge & Middle PU – Uuh, sometimes better than Sex…) And Guys, have a Look at the WAH DWN! THIS is the Key for a lot more Harmonics to create good clean and crunchy Sounds, ´cause it gains the higher Frequencies:
1.) Amp: Brit. Stack, Gain: 2.7, Treble: 5.3, Mid: 5.3, Bass: 6.0, Level: 7.0, Mod: Wah Dwn 100 (Depth: 0.0) !!! , Pedal Volume: 100, Amb: Room 2 (Value:100), Cabi: (OFF), NR: 6.3, Prog. Level: 100.
2.) If you want more Patches – feel free to contact.
One thing is also better than with many other Products: The AX100G sounds VERY good on nearley every Device – I tried it on Amps, active Computer Sound System, HiFi – it sounds perfect with all of them!
This is a Problem with Toneworks PX2, PX3 Stuff (I like these little crackers): They sound cool on Headphones or Mixer, but not on a Amp. So the AX100G is perfect for Beginners even with small Amps etc. The Drumsounds are a much better than the Pandora´s. It´s fun to play with.
By the Way: I use a Fender Stratocaster Special Edition (Tex Special Pu´s), Fender Telecaster (Vintage) and a Yamaha DG100 – 212 Amp. I´m sure you can make every kind of Guitar roaring like Hell with the AX100G.

Reliability : 8
I think it will last, if you´re a bit careful. I use the AX100G on Stage too. As a Backup the Yamaha DG100 is good enough.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not needed yet.

Overall Rating : 9
I´m playing 34 Years now and in my early Years I started playing a horrible Fender Type Plywood Guitar plugged in an old Tube Radio that sometimes gave me electric Shocks, ´cause it wasn´t grounded. But I couldn´t stop playing even when facing Death…Today we have the possibility to buy well priced Equipment like the AX100G, that can do so much. How Times are changing! When you are looking for a Device that produces real good Overdrive, Distortion, Crunch and clean Sounds, this must be your choice! It can even mess with the old Zoom 5000 Hybrid Pedal, that I also got! It´s perfect for all Rock, Heavy Rock and Metal Players (specially with little Money). If lost or stolen, I would buy this one or maybe the AX1500. Go and buy it too. You´ll love it!
