Very easy to use. Simple manual. Everything covered that you think should be.

Sound Quality : 9
Wowwaaaahhh! This thing sounds amazing. Technology in these digi pedals has really shifted over the last few years. The overdrives and just breaking up sounds are great. The whammy is very good - I remember when this effect was an elite thing - now you can find it on a ??50 pedal! I especially like the phaser very crisp and 70's sounding. The delays are nice too. One thing about the simplicity of the unit is that it can prevent you from ''over-effecting''. All the right things have been included in their right amounts. I am playing this unit into a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb combo with a PRS CE22.

Seeeems to be ok. A little plasticcy but footpedal is nice and rugged etc.

Not had any dealings with Korg. I thought they made synth stuff. Ha ha.

Overall Rating : 10
This little unit is a breath of fresh air. I am an ageing gigging musician in a great little rock three piece (myspace.com/thedemonllamas). Just a note I preferred this unit to the new AX5G because it has a proper larger foot treadle for the wah etc and it has knobs on for adjusting your tone on the fly. BIG question: Can I possibly gig a ??50 unit in amongst my expensive road ready rig? Answer: It sounds too damn good to leave it at home!

Very easy to use right out of the box. A quick glance at the manual gets you to the deeper levels quickly and easily. took me a few minutes to figure out how to turn the wah on. Editing and saving patches is very easy. Sound really good...just learn to ignore most of the factory pre sets, but that's the same with all of these type of units.

Sound Quality : 9
Only had it a few days and can get good sounds very easily. Al effects sound very good to me.

Reliability : 9
Looks pretty sturdy. I don't think it's a good idea to use anything without a backup in a real gig situation though.

Never dealt with them. This is my first Korg.

Overall Rating : 10
I play rock...mostly old school 70's stype stuff... a lot of originals.
Been playing almost 40 years..i know good sound and this has it. Compares very favorably with my Boss Me-30. I like the sounds of the Korg better, but I like the ability to play the Boss in Maunaul mode where you use it like seperate stomp boxes. The Korg is definitely quieter and the noise reduction works better than the Boss.
It really should have an on/off switch, just wierd without it. Like many pedals..it sounds good..just learn not to overdo it with the effects. Quality of the effects are great in this unit and a steal at ebay prices.

this product is easy to get good tone out of if you know how to work an amp then you'll get great tones from this product.

Sound Quality : 9
some of the best effects on it are the quality of distortion ive owned several distortion pedals and another multi but this is the best ive ever had. the tones you get vary from ye olde rock to almost a black/ death metal feel. the manual is very usefull and easy to understand not that i use manuals much anyway. flange and chorus are also great. another effect im pleased with is the acoustic pre-amp setting sounds almost real.

Reliability : 8
ive not had this product very long however it seems reasonably sturdy but the plastic sides may be a slight problem. i use this in gigs without a backup.

it has certainly given me inspiration and has transformed my bands sound from the same old distortion to something with a bit more zest and flavour

It took me about 1 hour to work everything out properly on this. The manual was very helpful even though I don't usually even read them whenever I get something new I just start playing with it straight away.

Sound Quality : 9
I have three different guitars that play through this unit, but the best is my Tony Iommi SG. I can get the exact distortion that I want and then make the sound bigger with a chorus effect thats built into my amp. The amp being a Marshall 250 DFX (100 watt). I can get the sound for all the greatest Sabbath songs out of this setup. The only effect in this unit that is weak is the wah, which just sounds bad. Thats where my Jim Dunlop GCB-95 Cry Baby comes in handy.

Reliability : 9
I can depend on this and I would use it at a gig without a backup. I mean I have pleanty of distortion pedals but I don't think I will have any worries with this unit.

Never dealt with Korg.

Overall Rating : 9
I play mostly only Black Sabbath and this unit suits that perfectly distortion wise. I use the Vox AC30 for some songs and the Fuzz for others but overall one of the best is the UK 70s amp effect. I have been playing for 6 years and own many other effect pedals but I was sick of hooking up all of them all the time and carrying around all these leads and that is why this is so great for me. If it were lost I would definitly get another one of these. I did compare this with numurous Digitech effect units, but I chose this because I am on a bit of a budget and got this at a bargain price. It dose help me emencley with my music playing and just makes it that much more enjoyable when you can get the tone you want.

It is very easy to use, although the downside is the small writing on the knobs which could be hard for people to read although I don't have that problem, and the other is it's quite slow to skip through the different effect settings (0.1, 0.4, etc)

Sound Quality : 7
I usually run it through a Kustom KGA10FX (10 Watt) and it sounds quite good, but sounds virtually the same using headphones, sometimes better. When it is in the amp, it doesn't make a huge hiss sound when you play, and it sounds like I play in a better amp than I use.

Reliability : 8
This is veyr reliable, not had any problems using it. I would probably use it for a gig if I was in a band, but I'd probably take backup incase it got stood on as it's basically plastic on the outside.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not had any problems.

I play Rock music, been playing for five months, and this is the perfect effects pedal for me. i'd suggest you buy it because I know for a fact you won't be unhappy with it. It is reliable, easy to use and has a great sound.

I'm using this with a Kustom Dual 35 DFX and A Maverick x1 guitar. It has its own volume. The distortion is alright, the other effects are better . It is quite good on clean

I play metal/rock style music , if i had the choice i would have bought a stomp box because the sound quality is better and it is better for gigging. There is a wide range of effects.

Very easy to use, although adjusting the second parameter of the modulation effects requires that you hold the function button. A minor gripe, but would another set of up/down buttons kill them? The presets provide SOME decent starting points, although many of them are clearly for showroom WOW...

Sound Quality : 9
The amp sims are entirely hit or miss. I've used the AX10 in two ways: 1) Straight into the MAC to record using Garage band and 2) Into an Ampeg Jet 2 15 watt tube combo (very clean). The guitars are a 62 Reissue Strat ith Texas Specials and a Les Paul Studio Here's my breakdown:

The Good: The 70's UK (read:plexi) and the 80's UK (read:JCM 800) are really nice, although of all the sims, the 80's UK is significantly louder. The Tweed 4X10 is pretty good as well. The similarity in sounds between the 70's UK and the tweed 4X10 are subtle, with the tweed being tighter and brighter and the 70's having a more blooming low end. Think about the Bassman as country and the UK 70's as rock and roll...That's how use it anyway. My main patches are a staight ahead UK 70's, then the same amp with chorus and a hall reverb mixed in, a clean bassman and another UK 70's with the hall reverb and a phaser (this last sound NAILS Breathe from Dark Side of the Moon with the Strat in position 4). I also have a Recto patch and the UK 80's patched for heavier stuff with the LP, but the volume difference between the two makes it difficult to use the two effectively during the same song.

The Blackface and the UK 90's are alright (UK 90's for Puppets era Metallica). The blackface however, does not stay clean near long enough as the gain increases (I find it has more dirt than the Uk 70's model....WTF?

The modulations are all very nice too...The chorus and phaser are to me the cream of the crop, with the rotary speaker sim being a close second when patched to the foot controler.

That being said, I use the foot controler almost always for volume control. Between that and the guitars volume, I can control both the gain and overall volume on the fly.

I cannot stress enough that this thing is capable of some convincing sounds. As an example, I was playing through my Strat on the Bridge pickup with "Don't fear the Reaper" using the UK 70's patch with chorus. My girlfriend, who is entirely uninterested in guitars, commented that she really could not seperate what was the song and what was me...hmmm.

The Bad: As others have said, the AC15 and AC30 sounds are garbage. Forget about them...and the fuzz? LOL...It would be better to just not have it. The boutique is prety lifeless too...Kinda sounds like all the stiff qualities of the other models rolled into one...no dynamics.

Reliability : 9
Never used it to gig...but I will. Although its is plastic, I'm not too rough on things. As for a backup, if it crapped out on me I'd just take it out of the chain and run straight into my amp.

I love it. The dynamics are excpetional. No, its not the same as standing in front of a quality amp, but having those dynamics at any volume is, imho, a worthwhile sacrifice. I would say this is a great tool for home, studio or gigging.

Extremely easy to use. The manual is on the Korg website. It's one of those Korg 3 dial jobs, and it mostly succeeds at simplifying things.

Sound Quality : 9
Mainly a Hohner G3T (Steinberger copy).
Not really noisy at all.
You're probably aware this one of those Korg 3-dial jobs, first knob is amp modeling, second is modulation, third is ambience.
The amp modeling is kinda sterile (but a big improvement over my Pandora 2), everything else is pretty lush out of the box.
I've found that feeding it through my DOD Milk Box stomp compressor helps make the amp models sound more analog.
Re: amp models: line sounds like recording through a mixer board. The boutique setting has a larger than life quality suggestive of a boutique tube amp. The Vox amps sound alot like Tom Petty. The not very clearly named Fender amps (apparently meant to be a blackface twin 212 and a bassman 410) don't nearly do those amps justice but liking those kinds of amps (who wouldn't) I go to those settings and then try to tweak and/or ignore the manifest inadequacies. Even if the sound isn't near right, the personality is similar (as in, degree of breakup and frequency response). The problem may be that this is all greater or lesser degrees of Vox style breakup, and I guess its just a very different type of distortion somehow from Fender. The british (read Marshall) and recto settings: various degrees of crunch, I'm not the person to tell you how authentic they sound, but they are useful. There's a lot of other stuff besides the amp models, basically every type of modulation and ambience ever used on a guitar, most of it pretty lush, the tremelo sounds particularly good (but maybe that's an easy one). I found the pedal to have about the same throw as a Cry Baby, that is to say, not as much as I'd like, and the response of the wah along the pedal was similar to a Cry Baby, that is, it can be uneven and abrupt, and there are no adjustments for the wah, but easing back on the guitar volume can help.

Reliability : 6
Having taken this apart, it's basically one big motherboard and a daughterboard or two. The pedal...I'm not sure if its opto or not, but there is no moving part beside the pedal, which moves a dull painted silver surface towards a couple of led looking things. The whole thing (except for the bottom big sheet metal plate) is made out of plastic and at a gig you would have to worry about some uninvited leadfoot smashing it. Rather than try and nag everybody around to leave it alone, I'd put it someplace safe when not actually using it.

Overall Rating : 9
As a guy who just plays around the house, in the end all the possibilities kind of distract from actually playing. I'm hoping I'll settle down to a couple of basic sounds. For a guy playing in a band, though, I think it's possible to create whatever sound is needed. If it were stolen or lost, if I could get the same thing at $100 or less, absolutely. At $150, since I just play around the house, I'd probably keep looking.

Very easy to use, analog knobs for selecting amp models/effects are really easy to use. Editing patches is also very easy, only preset patches could have been little better. You need to experiment a little to get good sounds.

Sound Quality : 8
My current setup is Squier Strat -> AX10G -> Computer -> Logitech speakers. I play satriani/vai/deep purple music and have little problems getting high distorted sound with crappy pickups on squier, it squeals and hums like hell. AX10G itself isn't noisy at all, I tried it with Japanese Strat with duncan pickups and few Ibanez guitars and worked ok. I think it's not made for my style. Only one amp model is modern high-gain, and I think there should be more distortion options (distortion/overdrive box models or something). Auto wah is very good, but I don't like the pedal wah. It's more like volume pedal than wah. I don't use many effects: compressor, amp sim, little delay and sometimes auto wah. You can get very decent sound with it, though I never tried it with an amp.

Reliability : 9
I have it for 9 months and had no problems with it.

For the money it's very good processor, although it doesn't quite suit my style. For blues, rock, country it should be more than enough

Has some quirks I find annoying: You can?t scroll quickly through the patches by "press and hold" of the up or down pedal, so if you want to move 20 patches, you gotta taps 20 times, and the numbering for the user patches is decimal form, (0.1 thru 0.4 then 2.0 through 2.4 up to 9.4) so 10 pedal taps is not necessarily the patch you?re expecting.

While adjusting some settings such as rotary speed, you gotta hold the ?FUNCTION? button simultaneously as you press the rotary speed control up or down, which is aggravating because you gotta use two hands which makes it difficult to play as you tweak the parameter.

The lettering on rotary knobs is difficult to see if there is any glare, they wash-out (white letters on silver knobs).

I HATE using a ?TAP? delay.

OK enough whining.

Otherwise, the editing is EZ and relatively intuitive, but read the manual to get some good tips and impossible-to-know-from-just-messing-with-it features. EZ and fun to assign various parameter controls to the foot rocker pedal.

Sound Quality : 6
This sounds OK for $149.99. Sounds better through headphones. I was disappointed by the ?BLK2X12? amp sim: not even close. And the AC30TB just does not ?sing? like it should. The ?MODULATION? and ?AMBIENCE? controls are fine, and you get some cool rich sounds, but I don?t like the chorus. In the context of playing with a band though, this sounds better when you crank up, and get some real air ambience going on with the other instruments and the room.

Reliability : No Opinion
Brand new, but I bet the foot switches wear out quickly from all that tapping (see above) and the 3 big rotary knobs feel a little loose and cheesy. Some of the white lettering on those knobs is already starting to look a little worn off. The foot rocker pedal feels solid.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 6
Probably as good as any $149.99 multi FX processor, a wide varity of sounds and tricks. Give it a whirl.
