The idea was right for the nob based settings and everything. I really could of seen this as an easy to use pedal but, however, it isn't so easy afterall especially if you've never used similar pedals before. Firstly the printing on the 3 main nobs are white on silver!! impossible to read clearly standing up and under bad light. alot of buttons had two functions so get's confusing. And the patch switches are too far apart to go into bypass mode easily. (step together).

THIS BABY IS AWESOME!! not just for the price! using it through my crrappy ibanez i still got the most amazing tone that i never had with my ZOOM pedal. I wouldn't say the presets are bad, but not usefull. But that doesn't mean the sound is bad. There are still many fantasic presets and you can dial in many of your own. Distortion is fat and flanger sounds like it's analog!!

This baby suits any style and is probably the best pedal in it's class. I play mostly rock ie. GNR, Super Jesus etc... and some J-Rock ie. Glay, L'arc~en~ciel. It worked wonders for me. the best purchase i've made yet.

This unit is fun as hell! It has a lot of weak points espcially compared to more expensive modelers such as Vox's Toneworks SE, but nothing gives instant gratification like this box does. You can have a lot of fun just clicking through the presets--a lot of really wild sounds here.

This is not a whisper silent effects box. It generates a lot noticable hiss. It has some really great sounds and models, but it's too noisy to be used in the studio--at least for my ears. What's worse is that the thing is seriously microphonic. Bump it with your shoe and you'll definetly hear it through your amp. Yikes! That's no good.
Reliability
:

I've only tested this out in the store, so I can't speak much to it's reliability; however, the noisiness and microphonic quality certainly didn't inspire confidence in it's construction. The body appears cheap and I question whether it would hold up well to constant stage use. This seems better suited for home practice.

I think from a "let's have fun and jam with my friends" perspective, this box is a blast! You can get a wide variety of interesting guitar sounds from it, some very realistic and others are just out-right bizzare. However the sound quality doesn't really hold up to close scrutiny. It's too noisy and microphonic. If you really need to have great modeling tone and a suitable studio and stagee-worthy pedal, you're probably going to want to spend the extra four hundred dollars and get the Tonelab SE. It's not as easy to use and doesn't offer as many super-freaky guitar sounds right out off the box, but it's certainly cleaner, more accurate, sturdier, and ready for the studio and stage.

very simple to get good sounds out of it in a second without the manual.
The Manual is good.

Yes, finally Korg made a Pedal with a Compressor as PRE Effekt! This works really great with all of the Presets. I specially like the EQ, BTQ CLN, BLK 212, VOX AC 30TB and the UK Stacks. FUZZ is crap, but try the RECTO with FILTER (!) at 0.2. This really rocks!
I would give it a 10, but the Noise Reduction does not work good enough and you can forget the ACOUSTIC Pre Effekt. But I´m using the BOSS NS-2 Noise Reduction Pedal with astonishing results, so all of the Noise Problems are gone, specially with Strat Type Guitars. Yes, Norbert caught it absolutely right – the AX10G got a lot of Sounds that are similar to the expensive VOX TONELAB that I have tried some weeks ago. When youre using Headphones you have to be aware that some sound good, some do not. I have a 9,- Euro HITEC AUDIO EAR ONE and that sounds awesome!!! (Probably of the higher Range in the middle Frequencies). Some of my other expensive Hifi Headphones does not work so properly until I tweek completely new Sounds. By the Way - the Modulation & Ambience Effects are pretty o.k. Forget most of the Factory Presets! They sound just terrible…

Damn - its Plastic! This Thing is absolutely worth to be made out of metal. SO KORG LISTEN!!! One other thing that drives me really crazy:
The writing on the Amp Type, Modulation & Ambience Selectors is white on Silver! They are very hard to read, specially in darker Locations.
The next time PLEASE take Black on Silver!

I have the pretty good AX100G, Pandora PX2 and tested the AX1500G, but the AX10G is far better!! If you need a good Pedal specially for clean and crunchy VOX Sounds (Country/Rock!!!) then you have to try this! I recommend it specially for the ones who can not efford the far expensive TONELAB. It’s a REAL good alternative! SO BUY IT!!!

This thing is pretty easy to use, Fairly basic bank up and bank down preset footswitches. Its easy to dial in your own custom sounds too and its easy to save them into the bank. The tap function and the pickup output switches can can pretty annoying. other than that its easy to use.

I have a custom stratocaster with an SD hotrails in the bridge with a coil tapping switch installed, I also have a custom les paul with 500t and 496r pickups. and every thing is running into a 70w fender tube amp.
The sound quality from this thing is great lots of people have tried mine out and said they love the large spectral variety of tones you can crank out of this box. Theres lots of great effects for trippy 70's music and 11 well modeled amps that can be dialed in with the turn of a knob.
The noise gate is one of the issues I have with this pedal since its audible cutting in and out of your guitars natural feedback can get insanely annoying. Also the Vox AC30 model is very dissapointing that it is way to high and bright to even come close to the sound of a real AC30TB, instead of Brian Mays thick ass licks I get Toby Keiths background guitar, for shame. Its also a little dissapointing that Korg removed the cabinet model dial which contributed a large part to tone. There are also a large number of lame factory presets that are programmed into this pedal, thank god for user presets, also, in my opinion the pitch shifters, Wah and talk modulations are pretty useless, the acoustic simulator(#22) on the other hand sounds great w/ single coil p/ups .
The Job this pedal is best suited for is playing through no amp at all, this thing was made for headphones or recording into a mixer. Whenever I use this I always plug into headphones because its sounds a million times better than it will through any amp.

This is where this thing gets sketchy. This thing is like 95% plastic and it feels like if you dropped it it would shatter into a million pieces, the expression pedal also feels a little dangerous, Play gently.

I play 70's rock ala Hendrix, Trower and Zeppelin, This box is the best for recording i've ever used, Its great I bring it every where with just a pair of headphones and its like bringing a whole shitload of amps with you in a tiny old box. If it were stolen id probably get a crispy creme Treble Booster instead of buying another one of these. If you want great sound, seamless recording and dont "Stomp" on you stomp boxes the AX10g is for you.

AWESOME SOUND!!!!
THIS BOX REALLY ROCKS!!!
It's got it all!! I was looking for a great Amp-Modeller for to use direct in the PA for gigging, recording in studio, and practice in the middle of the night.
You can do that with ONLY this box! The sounds you have programmed at home for example, are the same sounds into PA or in the studio.
So DAVID, you are wrong!!! This Box have Cabinet-Modelling of course!!! But it's programmed for automatical use in every Amp-Model!! So tell me, who will choose a 1x10 Tweed-Box when he select a Marshall JCM800 in the Amp-Modeller-Section???? I think, nobody would do that! Korg have (for that Model) integrated a 4x12 Cabinet-Simulation for that. There's a switch too, that allows you to choose the LINE (with automatical Cabinet-Simulation!), or the AMP way. (AMP way is without automatical Cabinet-Simulation!)
By the way, I had the other stuff too...POD, VAMP-2, DG-Stomp, AX1500G, AX100G, Digitech RP100, GT-6....this Box (imho) kicks them off the range!!
O.k. rectifier is much better on the POD, but all the dynamic in the other Amp-Models is amazing! Marshall sounds from the 70's, 80's and modern, you will find them here, and they sounds different!!!! just like there originals.
So don't forget the VOX AC15 and AC30TB models. They just sounds like them on the VOX Tonelab SE! wich is for 590,- Euro..., Fender Amp-Models are really great too! Stereo-Output, High-Low-Switch for Input... and so on.
THIS BOX ROCK's!!!

Just like I mentioned before, i had the AX1500G for a long time, ...never had any problems. So I hope, (and i think), this AX10G is hard enough for my use.
There is other stuff, that really sucks ? for example the Vamp-2 who lost his presets one day cause of a problem with the battery-holder in it. and all my work was damaged! ...I would give it a 8 cause the Box isn't made in metall.

Nothing more to say ? it's got the tube-sounds that i need.
There's no muddy sounds in it, you will be hear with that thing.
other stuff has not that clear sound, effects are good too, Chorus could be better, but it's o.k.! It doesn't matter if you create a Amp-sound with more or less gain.... it sounds great and have that punch you need from a Amp-Modeller. Thats why I bought it ? the other stuff is breathless in minor-gain-settings.
I play guitar for over 29 years and today with 39 i can say i like that Box.
I play cover-rock, TOTO, AC/DC, STATUS QUO, GARY MOORE, THIN LIZZY....and so on.
If it were stolen, I would buy a new one. Stop searching in Multi-Effects if you are no Internet-Tone-Guy and you really use that for your tone. You don't need the 32 Amp-Models, you don't need 340 Places (GT-6) for programming ? 40 is enough. Buy it! there's nothing you can make wrong....

This is where I personally have a problem with this. This is basically the Ampworks unit, installed in a larger platform with foot controller, presets, etc. BUT....and it's a big BUT....they took away the coolest feature...the Cabinet Modeler! ARRRRGHHH! Why Korg Why? The cabinet modeler featured on the Ampworks modeler is the single biggest tone shaper on there, and is what makes it the coolest little tone machine in the world. They TOOK IT AWAY and put preset cabinet models with the correlating amp model (I.E. Fender Bassman gets a 410 cab, Vox AC-30 TB gets a 212 cab., etc). This is especially a problem on the AC-30 setting...it's SO BRIGHT that it's basically useless. Even turning the treble control down yields only a thinner dark/raspy sound...and lots of hiss. YUCK. Why Oh Why couldn't you get this right Korg? Revise this model and include the Cabinet Modeling knob instead of giving us more choices for effects. The Ampworks only downfall is that you can only save 2 presets...2!!!! Sooooo....back to drawing board on this one. I give it a 2 here because a few of the factory presets are o.k, but most are garbage as you usually get from factory presets. Big bummer here. It went back the day after I bought it. I guess I'll settle for the Ampworks without presets.

THE SOUND QUALITY IS WHERE THIS UNIT REALLY PERFORMS. ALL AMPS ARE EMULATED TO THE POINT OF PERFECTION. THE FENDER CLEAN REALLY DOES SOUND LIKE A CLASSIC FENDER TWIN REVERB, THE U.K. CHANNELS SOUND LIKE CLASSIC MARSHALLS, AND THE RECTO SOUNDS LIKE A MESA DUAL RECTIFIER! I WAS AMAZED TO SAY THE LEAST, MUCH BETTER AND IMPROVED HEADROOM OVER THE POD, V-AMP2, AND DIGITECH GENESIS MODELING PROCESSORS, I HAVE HAD ALL THREE AND I KNOW. THE CHORUS AND DELAYS ARE CLEAN AND QUIET BUT SHIMERING WITH LIFE. THE REVERBS ARE GREAT! THE FLANGE IS SUPER, TREMELO VIBRATING! AND A NICE FEATURE IS THE PITCH SHIFTER AND WAH MODES ARE DONE SUPERBLY. I USE THIS WITH A BEHRING GMX212 IN THE POWER AMP MODE. I ALSO USE A GIBSON SG CUSTOM WITH SEYMORE ANTIQUITY PICK-UPS. I CAN GO FROM JOE PASS - JOE SATRIANI - KIRK HAMMETT WITH NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER.

AWSOME QUALITY. USER FRIENDLY. FULL OF GREAT EFFECTS. AMPLIFIERS ARE THE BEST AND MOST REALISTIC SOUNDING I'VE EVER HEARD. IF THIS WERE STOLEN I WOULD DEFINITELY PURCHASE ANOTHER. I DON'T REALLY HATE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS UNIT, AND THAT IN ITSELF SURPRISES ME BECAUSE I TEND TO NITPICK, VERY WELL THOUGHT OUT AND LAID OUT NICELY. I'VE BEEN PLAYING BASS FOR 12 YEARS AND GUITAR FOR 4 YEARS. I WISH KORG WOULD MAKE AN AMPLIFIER HEAD OR COMBO WITH THIS PROSESSOR AS THE VOICING COUPLED TO A NICE POWERFUL STRAIGHT THROUGH AMP WHERE AS THE AMP WOULD HAVE TO OTHER CONTROLS OTHER THAN THIS PROSSESOR.

Very easy to use. No mystery knobs. What you see is what you get. You can edit patches easily. I have used a couple of modelers, but this is by far the easiest to operate. You can use the built-in expression pedal to produce volume swell, increase modulation, or increase ambience. Oh yeah, wah too.

Sound is right on. I have a Showmaster HH and a peavey Generation EXP, which btw is the best deal for under $200 if you just want a backup.
You can go to the website and check out the amp models and pics at http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?A_PROD_NO=AX10G
The sound quality is right on. The amp models are DEAD ON! Remember, Korg had a lot to do with the VOX Valvetronix models, so you know that the models sound great. What really got me is that the models are all very touch sensitive. I never thought anything digital could do this, but man, it is done. THIS THING SOUNDS GREAT! The effects are extremely good too. The ambience and modulations are great. Up fron you have got a compressor, wah/auto wah, and acoustic. I have a dunlop cry baby, and this thing sounds better. The acoustic is pretty good. Sounds like an acoustic using a mic...lots of highs...very crisp.
I could go on and on about how the models sound: the Bassman and UK 70's (Her majesty's bassman), the bottom-end crunch of the UK 80's, the ac15's mid rangy sound...all that jive. IF you like tone, then this is the model for you. Sure, there are no Bogners or Matchless modeled, which would have been cool, but I think the models here all you need.
I have had this thing for a week and am still just setting up patches. I have all my old classic rock patches up and going, like Zeppelin, Hendrix and EVH (who all used the "UK 70's") as well as some cool 80's and such up. I love it. Every time I fire it up, I just spend the first 15 or so minutes just listening to the basic amp models on it.
The amps act the way they are suppossed to in regard to each's EQ (models with EQ pre-distortion and other with EQ post distortion respond the way they did on the real thing).

Very lightweight, but seems sturdy. The Bank UP and DOWN are made of plastic, however, so I use care when moving around. I feel like I could probably drop it and step on it and it would come back ok, but like I said earlier, I have only had it a week. I would definitely use it in a gig, especially since you could just show up with your guitar and AX10G and a couple of cords and just plug into the PA if you wanted while everyone else lugged their equipment in. So far so good, but can
t rate it yet because I haven't had it long.

This thing is awesome. I have been playing since I was 12 years old and am now 24. If it were stolen, I would whoop arss then go buy another one.
I compared it to a PODxt, and I believe that the sound is better, not to mention tweakability. It also helps when it comes with and expression pedal and costs less than half. I would buy the AX10G over the PODxt even if it cost the same. The only thing I wish it came with was a PRS custom-22, but hey, can't complain
