At first i had no idea what i was doing, but that was because i got so excited about it i just took it straight out of the box and plugged it in...

After i sat down and read the manual it all made sense to me although i still have no idea how to really program the control switch or pedal... but it's alright because i just use a preset that already has what i want the pedal/switch to do as a stencil for programming my own.

It's easy to program and change variables of effects because it's all right there on the knobs and it makes for very little complications.

Sound Quality : 9
In my current setup I use a CORT ACTION BASS and a LINE6 LD150... It does the job for me as I've only been playing 4 years and never do any gigs much bigger than pubs and clubs...

With the PRE-FX i generally only use the comp. or limiter but also use the wah and occasionally the synth and chorus/flanger... They all sound great to me, but sometimes the Synth cuts out a bit...

The amp/drive models all sound great to me, my favorites are scooped and the shred dist. and are the main ones i use though if I'm after a warmer sound I'll generally use the Jazz model...

Otherwise all the Mod/Delay/Rev Is all fine if it doesn't sound right i'm able to change it so it does so i have no complaints about that

Reliability : No Opinion
I can't really say as i haven't used it for any gigs yet

but at home and rehearsal it's been really good to me

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't needed it

I've only had it about a month

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I think overall it's a fantastic piece of equipment and I'm satisfied with it, i can't compare it to any other units as i haven't played through any others similar...

Beforehand I used a small assortment of cheap effects pedals the only pedal i had of any real quality was a BOSS BF-2 bass flanger pedal and I used the built in effects of my LINE6 LD150 which we're ok but it tended to drop out sometimes when i had the effects on it hasnt done that yet since i got the pedal so I'd much rather use the pedals effects as well as it being easier access on the floor rather than on the face of my amp.

The only reason i actually picked up the pedal was because Billy Hydes had a Doorbuster sale on and i wanted to get along to get a keyboard, but someone got in and got their hands on it first, this was another item i saw was on sale and thought "yeah i'll get that then" and wasn't disappointed at all. It was well worth the cold wet night for the price i got on it

The AX is ridiculously easy to use.
After about 10 minutes looking through the manual and playing with all of the buttons, I new how to use, program, and edit my own effects.

The manual's pretty decent - it does leave a thing or two out (like how to program the wah pedal - but that's written on the machine itself) but overall it's easy to follow.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm playing through an Ibanez gsr200fm, ampeg B2 head, and a Hartke 410XL cabinet. I also put it through a boss ns-2 noise suppressor (works wonders!).
The AX does generate some hum (completely negated by the ns-2) but it's not really a concern. Effects like "orange" distortion create a lot more noise than effects like "chorus", but it's never really been an issue, even without the suppressor.
Most of the effects are surprisingly good. I've had my experiences with single, expensive, "compact" pedals, and the AX really does stand up to them. Very strong distortion and chorus effects. The reverb, modulation, and ing are all decent too. Compression, limiting, etc. are passable, but the synth is pretty bad. It sounds neat, yeah, but it's just not that great. However there are so many effects and sounds that you really can't be dissatisfied.

Reliability : 8
I haven't gigged with this unit yet, but I've used it at home and in practice plenty. Hasn't failed me yet, and I'm not the first owner.

It's very solid and well put together. My only complaints are that some of the buttons seem a little fragile and the (metal!) casing seems kind of thin. But hey, so far so good. I wouldn't want to drop it, though.

No experience.

Overall Rating : 10
I play grunge, metal, and jazz, and this pedal is pretty good with all of those. I'm not a bassist, (i've only been playing for... one year maybe?) but i have a very good ear, and this effects unit is pleasing.
I don't know if I'd pay the full $200 for it, but if I had to buy a multi-pedal this would probably be it.
I like how easy it is to use, and the wide range of sounds you can get. I don't really have too much negative to say, considering the price.
I've played through my friends' single effect stomp boxes (and owned/sold off a few - used, of course) and this is definitely up to par with them. It would take about twenty of those to get all the variation of this machine, and that would be crazy expensive. For my wallet, this is absolutely good enough.
I wish it had a better synth effect... can't think of anything else. This unit is pretty much awesome.

Fairly easy to set up and program. This is basically a big brother version of the Korg Pandora PX4B

Sound Quality : 10
I am rating this strictly on the AMP and Cabinet models. No digital compressor is going to do an adequate job on bass. Get a really good compressor pedal like an EBS or a Demeter ans run into that and then the AX3000B. With a good analog Comp in frony the Amp and cabinet models sound excellent. Much, much better than the Pod or Boss GT stuff. If you are really playing bass in a band or recording you aren't going to be using lots of whacked out effects. You first and foremost want the best AMP models and I haven't heard any better. As ar as effects go it is a mixed bag. Some are very very good and some suck. Some are extremely usable but only over a very limited range of notes. The reverb (when used in moderation) is quite acceptable for adding some realism. Basic chorus, phase, flange, and delays are also quite usable if used in moderation. I would give all the extra effects a rating of 8. The ESS sequencer stuff (supposed to be like a Roger Linn Adrenalinn are fairly useless IMO. If you need to really whack out your bass no all in one processor is going to sound pristine. Start saving up for some real toys like lexicon, eventide, etc. Again, if you are after great amp and cab models and you need something on the floor with a volume pedal this baby shines.

Reliability : 8
Solidly built. Seems quite roadworthy. As good as the Boss and Line6 stuff.

Customer Support : 8
Considering it is only a few months old, no need on this piece yet. Had good experience with other Korg gear.

Overall Rating : 9
I find the Boss models too 'scratchy' and the Line6 too digital, but this is very subjective. I have friends who get great sounds out of these other units. However, people always tell me they love my tone when I record with this unit, so it works for me.

Very to use and program. Very flexible. Manual does a decent job of showing you how to do it.

Sound Quality : 8
Most of them are good. The volume on the amp settings vary considerably from amp to amp. The tracking for some of the effects is not top notch. The overall sound quality is good though. The "fretless" effect is useless. The synth isn't spectacular. But the chorus, flanger, reverb and delay are all very good. The amps are good, and some of them are better than others (shred distortion is by far the best. The cabinets are very good too...they have a big impact on the sound. Run this thing through an effects loop if you have one.

Reliability : 9
Haven't had any problems. I've had this effects unit for two and half years...hasn't failed me yet. The buttons are kinda chintzy though...wouldn't stomp too hard.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Hasn't broken yet.

Overall Rating : 9
Very good quality effects for the most part. Very good price for what you are getting. If mine was stolen, I'd get one in a heartbeat.

This unit was pretty easy to use and had about every effect under the sun - most of which I wouldn't use much.

Sound Quality : 2
I bought this unit when they dropped the price to $199 and I was not impressed with this unit at all. The compressor was poor at best and would click and make noises when trying to compress the low B string on my Ibanez SR905. It sounded better, but not particulatly good on my Fender 4 string Jazz basses. Since compression was the effect I would be using most often, it had to be good. Also, I could hear some audible noise (very low, but present) and it wasn't passing my tone when bypassed - it made it sound slightly muffled. I attribute this to the 20 bit A/D - D/A converters they used. I ended up returning it to Sweetwater and replacing it with a Aphex Punch Factory compressor and a Ashdown Bass Drive pedal as these are the effects I use 99% of the time and I find that these sound much better. The other effects sounded fine, but most of them are kind of gimmicky and wouldn't see much use with my rig.

Reliability : No Opinion
I did not use it enought to get a feel for the reliability, but it looks like the build quality is pretty good.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I did not contact Korg, so I have no opinion.

Overall Rating : 3
It's got a lot of effects, but to my ear, they don't sound good.

I wish i had this years ago before I bought all my other pedals. This unit has every effect under the sun. You have Pre FX,Distortion/Overdrive,Modulation,Delay,and Reverb. In each category you have 11 different effects to choose from. And if that's not enough;you have 11 different amp cabinets to choose from as well. You're not limited to only one effect at a time either. You can store as many effects as you want into a program. This unit has so many great features,I could get writer's cramp putting them all down. For more info go to the Korg website. As far as learning how to operate it goes,it's so friggin easy! Unlike the BOSS and Line 6 equivelents.

Sound Quality : 10
I don't even know where to begin! Let me put it to you this way, whatever style of music you play, you'll be extremely pleased at what this unit will do for your tone. I primarily play heavy rock/metal and I've tried countless distortion pedals, but they all sounded like ass. But not this unit. If you're into stoner/sludge/doom metal, not only is this pedal a neccesity,it's a Godsend! And it's not just one type of distortion either. Everybody knows Korg is the leader in synthesizer technology right? well,if you want your bass to sound like a synth, well, when you hear what this unit can do in that department, you're gonna come in your pants.
I can nail the tone of all my favorite bass players. As good as this unit sounds live,it really excells when you use it for direct recording. Another awesome thing I love about this unit is,if I don't want to disturb anybody in the house,I just plug my headphones into it,pick out my program, and I've got 11 different cabinet configurations to choose from. It doesn't get better than that. Before I bought this model,I tried out the Line 6 and BOSS models. No comparison whatsoever! Korg blows the doors off those guys! It's a Korg for cryin out loud! This is what they do best. All those other companies are trying to copy what Korg has already achieved.

Reliability : 10
This thing is sturdy as hell. It's a steel chasis. The knobs aren't cheesy either. When you see it and hold it,you know it's a quality piece of gear that's made to last.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I can't comment in this department because I've never had to contact them. Take that for what it's worth.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing bass and guitar for over 30 years now. I've owned and played a lot of gear over the years. I think I know how to tell a quality piece of equipment from a shitty one. This unit is a quality piece of equipment that no bass player should be without. By the way,my guitars sound pretty damn good through it as well! If something happened to it,I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. Since I've had it,I've blown away so many people with what this thing can do.

Chimp simple; no scrolling thru menus, turn the dials to the desired settings & save! I wish it did have XLR to go along with the 1/4" I/O; would make it easier to hook up to the board, etc.

Sound Quality : 8
I used it on a gig the same day Fedex dropped it off. It sounds a little thinner than the Boss GT-6B, but I will say this though, on the synth/wah sounds, this thing tracks like a MOFO!
I go thru the house monitors on my own seperate mix, and everything sounds fine. (Haven't tried thru my amps yet)

Reliability : 8
Well made, but I wouldn't say that it's as sturdy as the Boss GT-6B. Sheet metal chassis/light weight. The parameter knobs kinda remind me of the dials on the Behringer Bass V-Amp, but better. As with anything else, regardless of build quality, take care of it & it will last.

This is really just a first impression after using on 2 gigs & I will be digging into much more soon and post a secondary review. Granted, this is spanking new piece of gear, so it's pricing is going to be subjective. I would say that it should be somewhere around $299. Where it's @ right now, spend $50 more and you could get a Boss GT-6B; better build quality, XLR D.I. out, fx/sounds are a little more robust, but not by much...

Nutshell: couple extra features would be nice, otherwise a KEEPER!
