Ease of Use : 10
Well I have owned this unit for about five months now and I am just now getting past the factory settings. They are all really great. Even the ESS is fun to play with if you give it some time. I have found that the settings are easy to flip through. Now that I have begun to venture out and find what this unit can really do, I have discovered a whole new world. The factory presets are easy to modify and it is easy to create my own patches. I like being able to name the patches that I created. The muted tuner is a great tool. The owner's manual is laid out nicely.

Sound Quality : 10
I am playing a Fender Strat Floyd Rose model through the Toneworks into a good quality 16 channel soundboard. At home I use wireless headphones. The comments that I have received from those listening have all been good. There isn't any loud hisses and no pops or static when switching between programs. To be honest, I haven't had to use the noise gate yet. I think that the overdrive and cabinet models sound reasonably true and the effects are excellent in quality. O.K., I really, really like the overdrive models. I also like to use the Wah, chorus, and the acoustic sim. I have even been known to play my Martin DC-16 (Fishman Blend) through the chorus with some delay. The only patches that I can't bring myself to use are the synth effects in Patch 8. Whoah!!

Reliability : 10
This unit is built really well. There is no plastic to melt or break. I have not had any problems yet. I use it at least once a week without a backup. This has been my complete rig since I bought it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I like the Korg website. I haven't had to get support for anything, but I feel confident that I could get any answers that I need at Korg.com.

Originally, I was shopping for an amp and had narrowed my search down to the Vox Valvetronix. I had learned that Korg was making the electronics for Vox, so I went to the Korg website. That led me to a few music stores and weeks of research. I looked at Boss, Digitech, and Line 6. This one beats them all. This unit meets my needs and lets face it, with all of the amp and cabinet models in this unit, it is like owning one of everything. The versatility is amazing. I have been hard pressed to find any bad reviews for this unit in the press or on the Web. One comment that I found sums it up for me. "Korg doesn't put out crap." I have been playing guitar for 25 years and have played everything from Hard Rock,Hair Metal, Death Metal, Blues, some Classical, to Contemporary Christian Music. I love it all. After the rut that I had been in for the last couple of years, I have opened up and begun to create again. Guitar is fun again!

Overall Rating : 10
No he escuchado la VOX Tonelabs SE. Intuyo que tendra un sonido espectacular ya que usa la tecnologia de la AX3000G, y ademas incorpora una valvula. Pero es mucho mas cara. Obvio que me la compraria de nuevo si la perdiera, en cuanto ahorrase un minimo =)

Ease of Use : 9

How easy is it to get a good sound out of it?

It is really really easy to get excellent basic sounds. It has some sophisticated control options but even they are quite easy to get to grips with.

How about Editing patches?

No problem, it is very easy. As ever, naming the patches is a pain in the arse but every multifx is the same in this respect.

How is the manual for it (if there is one)?

The manual explains everything very clearly but really you only need it for the ESS functions and the MIDI options (which I don't use anyway).

Do you know the firmware revision number? Has your unit been upgraded?

Don't know about this...

Sound Quality : 10
What setup (i.e. what guitars and amps) are you using this with?

I'm using it with a Fender Strat and a 1970's Marshall JMP 50W valve combo.

Is it noisy? On what settings?

Like all pre-amps / amp modelers it is noisy on high gain settings without the noise gate. However it is very easy to control the noise with the gate.

Are the effects weak or do they always sound great?

The effects all sound really good. None of them sound weak but some are useless to me (ring modulator and ESS effects).

Can you get the sound of your favorite artists? Who are they?

I can get any sound I want out of this beast.

Are certain effects (distortion, chorus, ...) very good? Very bad?

I think the amps and distortions are very very good in the main. To me it sounds a lot like the Tonelab SE - this gets very good reviews but I actually think the Korg sounds a bit better (it seems less treble-biased to me). I don't like some of the distortions but I think that is because I don't like the units they are modeled on!
Delays are really excellent, dual phaser & dual chorus are great, as are the rotary and filter effects. The rest of the effects are just good (even the wah is quite useable).

Reliability : 9
Can you depend on it?

Seems very well built and robust (unlike some earlier Korg multifx).

Would you use it on a gig without a backup?

I already have done.

Customer Support : No Opinion
If you've dealt with the company, how helpful/friendly were they?

No need to as yet.

Overall Rating : 10
What style of music do you play? Is this a good match?

Mainly 70's rock at the moment but I reckon this could do anything.

How long have you been playing? What other gear do you own?

Been playing 30 years or so, got lots of other gear.

If it were stolen or lost, would you buy it again or get something else?

Most definitely I would buy it again.

what do you love about it? What do you hate? What is your favorite feature?

It sounds great and it doesn't interfere with your basic tone like a lot of these boxes do. Don't like the ESS or ring mod (does anybody like ring mod?), everything else is great. I really like the output matching options.

Did you compare it to other products? Which ones? Why did you choose this one?

Yes, tried them all, Boss GT-5/6/8 (I really don't like these at all), POD XT (not bad for recording but not so good through an amp), Digitech stuff (OK, nothing special), Vox Tonelab SE (very good but more expensive), Yamaha Magicstomp (great effects but crap amps/distortions). The Korg beats them all in my opinion.

Very easy to use. Patch editting a breeze. Keeping notes is helpful since are so many banks. Helps to remember what is where.

Manual is great, easy to read through. Highly suggest doing so, it can save you some headaches. The output hookups amd lineout have different settings so they need to be properly set.

I gave a 9 because the downloadable software could use a spreadsheet print option so you can look at you settings in writing and keep a list somewhere at your amp or whatever.

Sound Quality : 10
Top notch sounds galore. Full shred to sweet clean. Reverbs stunning, delays as well. So many varieties of great stuff it truely is the techno miracle someone else referred to it as. I like a little color, a good wah some nice Fender style clean for some blues, and this does it awesomely. The heavier drive amp simulations are killer. There's not much you can't do here with all the patch creation space the possibilities are so broad it's almost paralyzing. What do I play with next???

Reliability : 10
Very solid wouldn't hesitate to gig with it.

Customer Support : 10
Called before I bought it and their patient input helped me steer away from the older model 1500. I think they were right. The sounds on this thing are truely authentic, no digitalness anywhere.

Overall Rating : 10
Blues, Classis Rock, Metal

Playing through AmDel Strat wS-1, '89 Les Paul stnd. both of which sound awesome with thisd unit through my Tubeworks Rt-2100 combo.
Make for a well rounded rig.

Would cry then replace it as fast as I could if lost stolen or damaged.

This multieffects, have the best interfase that i use during my ten years using effects.Simple and easy, you can get the sound what you need in seconds.

Sound Quality : 9
really one or the best multieffects that i play, not noise, the effects are great really that a guitarist need, not a tons o effects that never will be used, i m using a JCM 900 high gain with a 4x12 stack 1960 with celestion 75 , first time that i play through the amp i feel that something wasnt fine, so i become to probe some configurations in the multieffects, and then i decide to put it directly to the loop effects and the sound become incredible, i put off the cabinet simulation and this babe scream like a demon!

Reliability : 8
i not depend on it, but it brings a new color to my tone

Customer Support : 9
my first machine have a problem and i take the multieffects to the customer support and they bring me a quick solution!

Overall Rating : 10
for the price, the sound and the easy editing of this multieffects, i have the pleasure to say that korg have one of the best multieffects that a great guitarrist need.

I have not yet tried to edit any of the sounds on the computer because i have only just learnt how to change effects. There is alot more to the pedal than meets the eye.I also found it quite hard to follow the booklet so iv started to gess what does what. One odd thing i did find about the pedal is it has no on/off switch.
However once you start to learn how the pedal works it all starts to make sense.Switching between sounds is easy.

Sound Quality : 7
I find that the pedal has a very weak distortion section.I find that the distortion is too distorted and you cant get a very clean sound.I play a maverick x-1 through it and even the quality of the pick-ups dosent seem to make a difference.I also find that the distortion gives alot of feedback. This does put me at a disadvantage becaue i play alot of heavy music.
Again-However there is a wide range of other sounds which are amazing! And the wah pedal is great too.(i still cant get the pedal to adjust it keeps coming up with error!)

Reliability : No Opinion
Im not sure if it is reliable because i have not had it long anouf to find out.I do feel that when it is set up to your playing style and you have out your own sounds in then i dont see why you could no rely on it.

Customer Support : 8
Korg sent me a replacement pedal after my first one blew up but they did take over a month to do so.

Overall Rating : 6
I dont think this is a good pedal for people looking to play heavy metal but i feel it is up for anything else.I think if you are looking to play heavy music stick to single distortion pedals.
If it was stolen i think i would go for a boss next time.

This unit is top notch. Reading the manual and setting the amp/line output right would probably solve all of the problems in the previous reviews. Factory presets are mixed, but include great examples of the amazing things this unit can do. Manual pretty good and easy to read, didn't take long at all and is very necessary.

Don't understand the last couple reviews. There are some very specific amp/line-out functions you need to set on this baby they sound like they might have missed that part in the manual.

It does what it's supposed to and has none of the extra bells and whistles for recording and drum machines. There's where you get twice (maybe 3 times) the sound effect product compared to competing brands with all that stuff, and then it keeps it a breeze to use with tons of memory for presets, more than you can use almost, but I'm trying.

Editing takes some time & effort. Getting you preferred sounds takes time to do right.

One nit-pick, the lack of an on-off switch, no big deal. Run all your stuff off a power strip, on-off switch right there. Doesn't bother me a bit, I've always used that method, one switch for everything.

Sound Quality : 10
Using with a Tubeworks RT-2100 (bitchin amp), into the effects loop on the amp. Works well through the guitar input as well. No noise at all. Playing both a Gibson Les Paul 89standard and Fender Strat (new AmDel with noiseless pickups, which actually are noiseless and outstanding all around). Both sound awesome through this setup.

Range of effects on unit are awesome, I've yet to uncover true weaknesses, mostly just my own likes & dislikes. Some sounds are not my style but as far as my ear can tell they're all top notch the amp & cab simulations are amazingly authentic. Over the years I've gotten listens to a many of the types this rig simulates. Love the USV30 cab for heavy and the Black 2x12 for awesome clean. Many other great varieties too, Boutique clean and OD great, tweed 4x10, the list is long, they're all great. The reverbs are a blast, so many cool ones. The canyon is fun. Delays, oh man.... This pedal has it all and more. With time you could find about any sound you need. The combinations possible have me convinced this is the best unit around. Totally authentic sounds, no digital-phoniness anywhere. I've been tweaking with it a lot for 2 months now and I've got my preferred sounds set but the fun to be had experimenting may never end. It can do so much it's shocking. The Vox wah is great. The expression pedal works great and you can assign anything to it. Was just playing with canyon reverb on it the other day, so cool. Wish the kids and wife were out once in awhile so I could rattle the windows.

Reliability : 10
My other Korg unit an ancient relic A5 is still going strong. This unit is way better built and I expect it to last a long long time. I won't hesitate to go without backup.

Customer Support : 10
Called to talke with them before purchase about the versatilies of connections, compatibilities with other devices. Very helpful, knowledgable, pleasant people. Helped me decide between this and the AX1500G.

Overall Rating : 10
Playing blues/groove/metal type stuff. Been playing off and on 25 years. If this unit were lost or stolen I'd cry then replace it, fast.

Compared to everything before buying. Boss - overpriced and underequipped (power supplies not included, hello?...? Boss what the...?) Zoom & Digitech - overpriced and overcomplicated and well like their name says kinda Digi-tal sounding. But hey their new JamMan looper may be worth a try they beat the Boss looper hands down. Now if Korg would just make a looper. It's got everything a multi-floor unit should and really needs nothing to improve.

If you aren't happy with one of these, you may not be happy with any floor unit. As a matter of fact I can almost guarantee that. And once you do go for this one you'll know what i'm talking about. And the searching ends.

Ya my scores were almost all 10's they deserve it. I'm a nit-picker and this thing is outstanding. Had to speak up when I read those last few reviews, head scratchers really. Buy one of these you won't be disappointed. And don't forget to read the manual and put the plugs in the right holes.

If you spend time with it, and work a lot with your patches, you can create really impressive and good quality sounds with this thing.
It took me about three days to fully understand it and get the sound I wanted. I was really impressed by the sound-quality. Now i've had it for a couple of weeks, and I'm quite happy with the way it sounds now.

The manual is just fine, really, it explains the basics.
I haven't really checked out the firmware yet.

To sum it up: It's very easy to control and use this unit.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using an Ibanez s470 through a big sound-system. My amp is too shitty to be used with this unit.
About the noise, there isn't really that much. And if there is, you can use the noise reduction system. Neat!

The effects are mainly of good quality, and most of them sound great!
Personally, I have a lot of great sounds of artists like Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Kirk Hammet, Slash (Saul Hudson) and Mark Knopfler.

I like mostly all of the effects, maybe except the ESS-system. Mainly, it creates synth-effects on the guitar. You can play appergios and trills with it holding one tone, which is impressive, but not very useful. Read more about it on Korg.com or co.uk.

Reliability : 10
The reliability is overall good. I can depend on this unit, it's very solid, in a metal chassis.

I actually would use it on a gig without a backup. It's of great quality!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
Since I play a lot of variated music, from classical to heavy, the Korg AX3000G can give me all the tones I want. I've been playing for about three years now, which isn't really that long of time, but I'm getting better and better.

Now, if it was stolen, I would buy it again.
I like mostly all of it, except the ESS-thing, which is explained above.

I did compare it to Pod XT and Boss GT-8, and I actually liked this the best. The price wasn't that bad either.
It indeed does help me making music. Actually, it makes me better at it!

Overall, the Korg AX3000G is of good quality, the sounds are fantastic, it's solid, and I can depend on it.

Reccomended!
