This is a very straight forward and easy piece to use. I have owned it for several days before I even took the manual out of the sealed package. I only did so because I was curious to know if I missed anything.... I didn't!! This thing just makes sense. If you have ever used a complete effects pedal it does what it supposed to do... and then... Hit one button with your foot and now it acts like a stomp box. Mods, effects, drive, reverb, etc. Individually you can turn them off and on with your feet. No bending over here!! Keep in mind this is all in the context of a pre-set... Ever preset acts this way. And it is extremely easy to begin creating new patches and save them. Just tweak and hit "write" two times and it is done. I know that some of the other brands work like this but not to this extent and not without effecting your tone.

Sound Quality : 9
First off, I have severe GAS!! Guitar Acquisition Syndrome!! If Ebay didn't exist I'd be in some serious trouble. I have bought and sold more stuff than anyone I know... Meanwhile... I litteraly have gone through every set up known to man. I have thinned out my collection down to my essential setup. Guitars: Gibson Les Paul Custom Florentine Plus, Brian Moore i2.13, a Fender Players Deluxe Stratocaster, and a Taylor 614ce LTD (If you think your going to get good "Taylor good" acoustic sounds out of an Electric... good luck, I have tried every method out there. It just doesn't compare to the real thing).
I am using "on the floor" the Tonebone Radial Trimode, into the Korg AX3000G into my Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue. Looped in also I use my Roland GI-20 "Midi Converter" attached to the Roland XV5050 piped into my Roland VGA 7. Great amp for the auxillary in, other than that... not the tone that I have been searching for. I am also using Digitechs Jamman for interesting live effects. I believe that that is everything in my current setup.
I am a big Neal Schon, Eric Clapton and Lincoln Brewster junkie. I love there "tone" For me the search is always for the "tone"
The Korg AX3000G is a good all around board for great options. Compared to the other brands out there, "which I have owned and tried" I prefer the Korg. 1 reason the effects are great and don't mess with my tone. And when I want to just simplify.. Guitar and amp.. I hold the current preset button for 1 second and wham.. I am in clear transparent bypass mode. But honestly.. for me this has proven to be a very clean, quite and transparent effect box. That is also why I like and still use the Tonebone Trimode... Transparent effect on my tone. It does what it is supposed to do and doesn't get in the way.

Reliability : 10
This a very reliable and sturdy piece!! Keep in mind the most common trouble that I have is power adapters. The constant set up and tear down is hard on those things. I would suggest a simple pedal board case... A Furman Pluglock and velcro. Everything is a few latches and on one plug away from being ready to go. I don't worry about a backup with this thing.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have never had to deal with them on any level. Keyboard or guitar related....

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 10 years and like I said I have owned at one time or the other just about every piece from all the manufacturers. Thanks to Ebay I could send them out the door quickly before they depreciated. Of all the floor effect boards out there I prefer this one. Not digital sounding like some and not to limited like the others. It works for me... I like presets some of the time and other times I prefer stompboxes. This provides the best of both worlds and blends them effortlessly. Way to go KORG!!!

This units is VERY user friendly! Editing patches is a breeze. and the manual is excellent. Current firmware number is current production run as this unit was released to the public in April 2005.
The unit has 32 presets, and 96 user locations.

Sound Quality : 10
Unit has 4 amp setup configurations to choose from, and I'm using the AP1 option with my Peavey 212BT tube amp. The unit is not noisy at all; in fact, there is no noise with it. Due in part to Korg's noise reduction technology! I can get great sounds out of this unit from U2 to Greenday, to Pink Floyd, Beatles, Evanescence.
All the effects are excellent studio quality ..

Also, the unit has a midi/pc interface for deep editing capacity! I like this unit for its simplicity!

Reliability : 10
The unit is built like a battlestar, very tough steel chasis, and the pedals are high impact polymer plastic; therefore, this unit should last a long time. I would gig without a backup!

Customer Support : 10
I called support and they were very helpful! And I talked to a real person!

Overall Rating : 10
Korg has finally got a winner on its hand with this unit. Its built with the performer in mind, and its easy to program and use. Also, it rocks in the studio.

If your a guitar player, and tired of pedals, but wish you could get the best of both processors and pedals: the AX3000G is your unit.
I've tried Boss GT8, GNX4, GNX3000, POD XT LIVE, and none of these boards have bupkus on Korg's new unit. IM NOT COMPARING workstation, features, so you GNX4 babies - piss off

I'm speaking only for the effects and performance grade interaction, with studio recording preamp capabilties. Now if Korg could build workstation features into the AX4000G - that would be fantastic!
