Mostly a very simple device. Plug it in and turn it on. If you don't like that (or have an acoustic), just turn it on and use the built in mic. Manual mode and calibrating are simple to figure out. Who needs a manual?

Huh? Boy, I hope the sound quality is lousy.. this is a TUNER after all.

Well.. It has worked good, and is consistant, but it is a cheap piece of plastic with a little lcd and circuit board. You'll see when you install the batteries. But what do you expect for the price? As for using it without a backup.. I know how to tune a guitar without it, if I need to, do you?

Never called'em. I haven't dropped it, and aside from dropping it I don't think it would break.

Overall it's a very nice cheap tuner. Very simple and small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. If lost I would buy another just like it. The only thing I wish it had is an output jack and make it passthrough, and maybe backlight the lcd for you gigging types. Enjoy.

Ultimate simplicity to use. Just plug it in, hit a note, then the LCD "analog" meter tracks the note and you tune to pitch from there. LEDs also guide you.

It's a tuner. No sound.

Little chromatic tuner that fits in your pocket. Comes on every time and tunes right to pitch.

Everybody seems to either recommend the Boss TU-12($80) or the Korg tuners(many models, but many people recommend the CA-20). I bought the TU-12 first because it's supposed to be a more "professional" tuner. But I bought the CA-20 and it tunes just as accurately, with a nice meter, so is very similar to the Boss. The main thing the Boss has that the Korg CA-20 doesn't is an output. So when you tune your guitar on the Korg, you have to unplug it from the amp and plug it into the Korg. I took the Boss back because I just couldn't justify paying $80 for a tuner when for $20 I got the same functionality, same accuracy and a nice, compact package.
I saw the CA-10 had some mediochre comments on it, but I'm not sure if they were defective or what not, but this CA-20 is alright! I use this mainly for guitar. I don't know why people buy guitar tuners because I like to check the accuracy of the notes all the way up the scale.
One additional feature I like in the Korg is that it has a higher frequency range. I can check the tune of any note on my fingerboard on my Strat(22 frets) where with the Boss TU-12, it only goes up to B after the twelfth fret on the high E string. I think the TU-12H might fix that.
Overal, for general use, I think it's not worthwhile to spend good money on a tuner when this $20 piece does the job.
