The unit has really missed the effect radar and has some very expensive caliber unit parameters and effects. A wireless controller is the only way to program the unit, this would be the only down side. The drv-3000 allows 2 simultaneous effects set serial or parallel, Effect 1 Effect 2. This unit is in most every high end studio in the world and there is a good reason for that!
Yes there are only 2 effects at once but they are truly quite impressive, allowing a guitarist some great chorus and modulation. Effects include; Reverb, Delay, EQ/Driver, Flanger, Chorus, Pan, Pitch shift and Ensemble. I really can only comment on the Reverb, Delay and modulation effects. Settings the modulations require some time to get use to but WOW can you get some great sounds and I think most guitarist would love this baby.
Once you get use to the layout programs are very easy to change and edit, getting the sound you want is quite easy.
You have to have the manual in order to understand how the effects function as the display does not explain. A delay may feed its L/R signal to the other side, example L feedback to R. The manual explains how the Main output levels work and pypass options, program select options via footswitch and on and on. It really is quite simple but you do need the manual to see it all.

The unit is great for delay and modulations, U2, Pink Floyd, Rush, type of sound. Not the same as a Korg SDD3000 but with similar results, very airy and full, a very BAD kind of sound, for the U2 fan.
The delay on this unit is probably the most natural and warm I have ever used with almost no noise at all. There is a spring or bounce very earthy and true, say The Edge type of sound, not harsh, not digital. I can compare this to the many delays I currently own Korg SDD3000, Korg SDD2000, Korg A3, Yamaha D1500, Yamaha FX900, Ibanez SDR1000, Ibanez PUE5, Ibanez PT-5, Alesis Midiverb II. All the other units are far too many to list here.
The DRV3000's delay is very similar to the SDD3000 with much more to offer, you have a stereo signal. You set Effect 1 as a Stereo Delay mixing the feedback of the L/R signals back to each other say, 450ms left, 350ms right, mixed back to mono/stereo out. Utilizing Effect 2 as a Flanger/Chorus/Pitch shift applying via parallel or serial to effect 1, the modulations are extremely versatile. The SDD3000 has many more filters and wave forms but no midi and no stereo.
True Stereo operations do really require 2 DRV-3000???s as there is a slight modulation of the direct signal when using a stereo input. The direct stereo signal is supposed to remain unchanged but seems to be mixed down to mono and back to stereo, the only draw back to the unit. My setup is true a stereo rig with L/R signals having its own set of gear, so I have 2 of everything that does not operate in true stereo. I use an A3 to mix the mono signal to stereo then to hard left/right effect paths.
Guitars, Fender Tele, Fender Strat, Fender lefty Strat, Fender 12 string electric, Gibson Explorer, American 1980 Charvel, Mighty Mite 1980, Ibanez 1976 white lawsuit (my first guitar purchase $30.00 1978)with killer Maxon pickups-very P90.
I currently own 3 DRV3000???s as I play a 3 amp setup. The mono chain employs the Ibanez PUE5 ???moded??? (right out), Tube Works RT922, Korg Drv 3000 and Ibanez SDR1000 feeding a Laney AOR100 ???moded??? 4X12 celestion 100W. The stereo chain employs the Ibanez PUE5 (left out), Tube Works RT922, MXR Pitch Transposer, Korg SDD3000, Korg A3, stereo out to dual effect paths L/R, 2-Yamaha D1500, 2-Korg SDD2000, 1-Yamaha FX900, 2-DRV3000, 1-Alesis Midiverb II, feeding left Fender Super Twin Reverb right Traynor Reverbmaster, 2X10 vintage celestion. (Yes it rocks)

I play mainly blues and rock since 1980. I
I would have to replace the DRV3000 if stolen.
I love how spacious the delays and reverbs with control over the modulations like no other unit I currently have. My favorite feature is the delay, with its warmth and fullness.
I wish it had the ability to be programmed buy buttons but the remote is so easy to use.
