Ibanez Prestige SR1005EWN>Line 6 X2 XDR95 wireless>DTR-2>Carvin R1000. It isn't noisy and it doesn't effect the tone in the signal path of my bass run with no effects, but at very high volumes I notice a popping or clicking noise. Not good.

It could be used without backup, but beware of the clicking/popping if you're playing live

I play rock music. I've been playing for 6.5 years. If it was stolen I would by something else. I'm going to buy something else anyway because I don't want clicks and pops while I'm playing live.

Its about as easy as it gets. I run mine through an Ampeg svt4pro via back panel tuner out. Lights easy to read even in darkness. Display is bigger than the Behringer rack tuner.

Sounds like its not even there if you have it in rack not as opposed to your signal chain. I think thats why people think its so noisy, I havnt heard a peep.

I bought this used so I know it is reliable. The only thing that seems like it could break is the power button, but I doubt it. I would depend on it without a backup but I have not had the unit for very long.

I was looking for a rack tuner with decent display, reliability, lower in cost, and sounded good. This was a great buy at $45, I dont think I would have thought so if I spent around the $100 most of you are paying. So if you can find one used, pick it up you wont regret it.

Ok now, I read all of the reviews below, but I failed to understand people who continuesly b..ch about how bad the hum is. First of all, I really don't know if it is noisy or not, because I never put it on my signal path! If you are such a purist, why do you keep insisting placing it on yours. *Any* tuner will have at least a buffer and that buffer will effect your sound.

Even the picking strength effects the LEDs. It's extremely sensitive and captures harmonics more than it suppose to and almost impoosible to see green color lighted up by itself, without the company of a dimmed red LED. I have other tuners, they show that guitar is in tune. but then I plug into the Korg and see that it is not. with a floyd rose, it is even more unstable. I am not sure that level of sentivity is good or bad. Other than that, yeah, it is accurate :)

I find this to be a very dependable piece of equipment. I almost hesitated to add this to my gear based on some of the reviews I read, but to the contrary... I have had nothing but good experience with it. It couldn't be easier to use. Input/Output jacks on the back panel and another input jack on the front. Mute button on the front panel for quiet tuning. Easy to see LED's allow for quick spot tuning across a dimly lit stage.

My advise to those that are shopping for a good , dependable rack mount tuner... find a good used DTR-2. I do not know about the newer versions as I recently acquired my DTR-2 used. I just bought another one today on ebay. I hope to have the entire band outfitted with them soon.

This is the worst tuner I've ever owned. It's a pain in the ass to use, because the led indicator jumps all around, and is not stable at all. Seems like the tuner picks up way too much harmonic content to give an accurate tune. Not to mention that it takes twice as long to tune your guitar as is should. This might not be a big deal if you're just using it at home, but when you're at a gig, and you need to tune quickly, this thing makes me wanna pull my hair out.

Low marks again here.... I was really surprised by how poor this tuner works, It intrduces soooo much hum into my guitar rig, not to mention that it sucks the life right out of my guitar tone. Anyone got $5 they'll give me for this piece o crap? I paid $150 for this thing, and My little Sabine STX 1100 works a million times better. Unfortunately the little Sabine doesnt lend itself to playing out live on dimly lit stages. Otherwise it would be velcroed into my rack.

I play a Les Paul into a Mesa MK IV, in a Classic/Modern Pop rock coverband. I'm really looking for a good replacement for this tuner, cause i hate this thing. Hopefully the Sabine Rack mount tuners work as well as thier little handheld tuners, cause that's what im probably gonna get.
If you need a good Rack tuner... dont buy the Korg DTR 2..... What a piece of Junk.

This unit is quite weird.... it makes noise sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. Makes no sense to me. When it does produce noise though the level is pretty awful and is totally unacceptable. When it works though it works good.

I no longer use a rack setup so this unit became obsolete for me.
I could not recommend it more highly, especially for a pro or semi pro player.

This is a second tuner I have recently purchased and I am using it in an effects only rack patching it into a MARSHALL TSL 2000 and a MESA DUAL RECTIFIER THREE CHANNEL SOLO HEAD. When I noticed a loud 120 Hz hum I first thought it to be bad filtering in the power supply of the unit (I do electronics repair), so I brought it to the shop and upgraded the filter cap before the 5V regulator, I need to mention here that the measured noise was well below what I expected to find, so I also installed a "GND LIFT" switch at the rear panel, and since this unit is going to be grounded by the rack mounting and by the audio interconnect leads I did not see a problem with safety. I cannot recommend this though obviously for liability reasons. Anyway, when I reinstalled the unit in the rack the noise was still there just as before, but when I switched the ground switch the noise was gone! Apparently with its internal power supply which utilizes a three wire power cord it became part of a ground loop. For reference I do not have any noise problems in my other rack using my other DTR-2 tuner which is factory stock, no modifications...go figure...
All in all, with the ground loop problem solved it has very little noise now and works quite well even in front of the high gain channels of my Marshall's and Mesa's. By the way, many manufactures use "wall wart" power adapters these days to power their rack units. I believe this unit would not have had a noise/hum problem if it were designed with a wall wart, but personally I think a wall wart design is cheap.

Yes I believe this unit is well constructed for consumer grade equipment, the parts are laid out very well, it should be fairly rugged.

When I called for an updates or bulletins on this problem KORG was very polite, friendly and wanted to help. As far as a downloadable manual for this unit though, there is not. This is something KORG should have at their web site even though the unit is pretty simple to operate.

Once again, the mods I made to this unit are not recommended for liability reasons, that is not to say that other equipment on the market is not designed this way. Some people have used a three prong plug adapter to "lift" the ground pin of their equipment which is what the switch does in my unit...

I'm running my Stingray 5, custom Jazz, Yamaha Nathan East etc. tru my flooreffects and into my SWR SM-900 into a SWR Henry the EIGHT 8*8. The Korg and a tubecompressor sit in the effectloop. The SM-900 has a tuner output but I'm not using it coz there isnt a muteswitch on the amp. So I'm using the mute on the Korg as standby and tunerswitch. I haven't noticed any soundloss nor noise as the other here states. My guitarplayer has one too - no problem there either. It tunes everything - all my basses ( 4,5 and 6 strings, fretless you name it)I even once tuned a doublebass - no sweat! The rating I give her is becouse of the No hassle and No colour influence on my sound. I f you are taking soundQ about a tuner it's a piece of crap.
