Very easy to use. Plenty of useful inputs front and back.
Great mute and included built in mic for acoustic tuning for many instruments besides my guitar.
Manual is small and easy to understand.

Excellent sound quality. I see other reviews stating when they ran preamped audio with distortion, etc. through it, they said it sounded terrible. It is NOT meant to be put into the signal chain after a guitar preamp with higher levels, etc. You run your instrument directly into it FIRST and then from the output you move on to the rest of your gear. It is flawless in my rack system.

I am sure they are fine. As this unit is reliable I have had no reason to call them as of yet.

I play all sorts of music from quiet to heavy and loud.
It performs well for me. Does not interfere with the rest of my setup and keeps me in tune throughout the gig!
Been playing for 20+ years and this is one of the better piecs of gear I have owned. If stolen I would replace it as I like this tuner very much. With the large display I can tune quickly when I need to.

Very easy to use! inputs in both the front and back and an output in the back. Pedaled mute option is a great idea.

Horrible. I tried everything to make it quite humming. Really bums me out. It sounds awesome for bass and clean guitar, but might as well give up if your using distortion. I am also a sound engineer and the level of noise is completely unacceptable for playing.

Do not use it unless you are a bassist. Distortion is the worst thing for this unit. I run a PRS into a Mesa Rectifier and never have I had a unit produce so much noise.

If you play loud music, don't buy this tuner !! It's unbelievably noisy. In fact,I've never bought an effect this noisy. I bought it on the internet,so I have to pay the shipping to return this junk.It sucks.

It's a tuner. Couldn't be simpler. There are inputs on the front and back and an output on the back. There is a mute button for silent tuning, and footswitch jacks if you want to be able to remotely mute the signal (footswitch not included). There is also a calibration button in case you manually want to set your center frequency, but I never use it.

I run my guitar into my preamp, the the tuner in my rack, and then through my other effects. Seems like a silent pass through. No effect on the sound, which is what I want.

It seems solid enough. Durable metal housing. Also, it's in my rack case, so it's not going to take any beatings.

Overall, I'd say that if you're looking for a simple rackmount tuner for guitar or bass, this is the place to go. It is very accurate and the LED's are bright and easy to see in the dark. Just tune until you see green. It's not the most interesting piece of gear, but if everyone had one of these, there would be no more "oops i'm tuned halfway between E and E flat" episodes at rehearsals or worse, actual gigs. Get one and make sure everyone else in your band has one too.

Very easy to use, minimum number of sockets switches etc, so its difficult to mis-configure. Locks quickly onto notes, even low B on my 5 string basses and the big LEDs means its easy to see the exact tuning.
The fixed power cord was hassle for me with rack mounting, so I fitted an IEC power connector. This wasn't difficult and took about 15 minutes all up.

I'm using the DTR-2 in the effects loop of an SWR Studio 220 amp. This allow me to use the MUTE fuction on the DTR for tuning as well as whenever I just want everything quiet for any reason. The DTR is quiet and there is no audible difference between it being on or off. When the DTR-2 is switched off, it defaults to pass through mode.

I haven't had to deal with KORG over the DTR-2 but have had execellent support from them previuoulsy over getting a part for a DT-3 hand held tuner.

I also have an earlier Korg DT-1 Pro rack tuner which was equally as functional but tricker to use, as it has a bunch of different modes and it doesn't "wake up" in a ready-to-tune mode, like the DT-1 hand held tuner on which it was based.
The DTR-2 is a just a simpler tuners with fewer options, but comes up ready-to-tune and is simpler to use.... I like it more than the DT-1 Pro rack tuner.

I was running from my Gibson Flying V to the DTR-2 and then on to my amp. (All my effects are in effects loops on my Marshall TSL JCM2000 head). The DTR-2 was extremely noisy. I talked around town to local music dealers and they said not to run "through" the DTR-2 but to purchase a "Y" cable. The idea was to run a cable from my guitar into the "Y" cable...one end of the "Y" to go to the tuner and the other end to go to my amp input....this would enable me to not go through the DTR-2, but merely "tap" off my guitar signal going to my amp. The DTR-2unit still produced unacceptable levels of noise. I figured the unit may have been defective so I returned it and got another one. The new unit performed exactly the same with excessive noise so I returned it and got my money back. Very noisy unit.

I play Heavy Metal and have extensive effects and Rocktron Hush/Guitar Silencers and know how to use them. It just doesn't make sense to spend $300 on a Hush and then have a $200 tuner quadruple the noise on your system. Anyone who is even remotely noise sensitive better think twice before buying this unit.

This rackmount tuner has 1/4" inputs on the front and back and an output on the rear. Just plug in and tune. Works straight from active and passive instruments, in effects loops of amps, etc.
Picks up the note fast and, with a large display, is very accurate. There are many LEDs behing the display that smoothly show your tuning in cents. There is a separate "MUTE" light to show when you are muted (I put LEDs on my footswitch to show me). Has a mute button on the front with 1/4" jack connectors on the front and rear for footswitch muting.
The manual covers all of its functions nicely. Has a reference calibration feature that seems simple enough, but I have never used it.

Being a tuner, it doesn't actually affect the sound. I run my old passive bass through the tuner and into my Carvin R600 bass amp. It picks up with no problem. I play loud through a 4X10 w/ tweeter and 15" cabs and haven't heard noise, hiss, etc. I have a picky ear, but can hear no artifacts.
I don't know if it buffers the signal. The metal body seems to keep all stray radio frequencies from creeping in.

I've owned mine for more than a year and have had no problems. It has been in my four space rack right above my amp the whole time. The mute function uses a relay (you can hear a slight click), but always works without problems (it works with any on-off switch). The jacks are tough enough to take some pulls on the cable. I trust it to work every time.
It has a built in power supply with attatched 120V power cable that is about 4-5 feet long.

One of the things I like most is its sleek look. The natural aluminum and black plastic display are nice to look at.
I've been playing bass for about 3.5 years and expect to use this tuner for a long time. It has a wide tuning range to cover many kind of instruments. I'm sure it works with every style of music and with most equipment setups.
I tried the new BOSS TU-2 stage tuner; it is great too, but I preferred the rackmount. It's worth the extra $50 to me. I'm not sure which one I'd buy again if I lost this one, though. If you want more features, check out the DTR-1.
It is simple, efficient, versatile, and good at what it is made for. I never have to worry about it. It's only about 4" deep and light weight, which is good for a rack full of other stuff. All of these reasons make it worth the $150 to me.
