Ease of Use : 10
This unit is very easy to use. Has I/O on front and back which is really handy. There is also mute capabilities, tone generation, a mic, various tuning modes. It is excellent.

All functions are easy to see and the layout is good. The light is a very nifty addition as well.

Sound Quality : 10
I used this in my FX loop with an ENGL Powerball. Added no noise or any changes in tone. The mute was silent, no clicks or pops when engaged or disengaged.

The tuning was quick and accurate. Excellent for doing intonation for all instruments as well.

Reliability : 10
It seems very solid. I would use it on a gig without a backup.

Mine hasn't seen the rigors of the road at all. But I know of many artists that use this tuner and have had no trouble.

Customer Support : 10
I have never dealt with Korg. I have dealt with Marshall though, and everytime they have been very helpful.

Overall Rating : 10
I play all styles and this tuner did just fine. It was great at tuning electric guitars, acoustic guitars, basses, etc. It comes in really handy in a studio or in your rig. It is nice, big, and easy to see. It is quiet inline and doesn't suck any tone. If you are getting a rack mount tuner, this is the one to get.

This unit is a BREEZE to operate. I've been playing guitar fo 14 years, and have never used a tuner until now. I never trusted tuners-again until now! This is so easy to use, and is so accurate. The manual isn't too detailed, but there isn't much to the unit, so its perfect. No upgardes are possible because this is the top of the line unit!

Sound Quality : 10
I use it in my rack with a Triaxis, 2:90 and a quadraverb. I run it through the effects loop of my preamp, with the mute on the tuner so i can tune silently. It tunes my 7 string just fine, and i am in love with how easy it is to use.

Reliability : No Opinion
I really don't know if its reliable, but at the price i paid, i am going to assume that it is. Besides, all the major players have this in their setup, so its good enough for me.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Again- i really dont know about customer support, i just got the unit.

Overall Rating : 10
The unit looks great, has a blue center light so you know when your in the center, and has an illumination feature that lights up you rack items below it. I chose this over a peterson tuner because this has strobe tuning as well as cents and hertz tuning modes. It can tune chromatic, or tune open tunings, even nashville tunings! I have waited too long for a tuner, and now i've got the best!

Ease of Use : 10
Very easy to use and ACCURATE. I use it with a Pedal Steel Guitar and I find I'm more in tune now than with any other tuner.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
N/A since this is a rack Tuner

Reliability : No Opinion
I've only had this for 1 month so I can't comment on reliability.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have not had to deal with them on this unit. I dealt with the 20 years ago on an old Korg tuner, that wasn't the best customer service but I doubt that can be related to the current customer service.

Overall Rating : 10
I had looked at the new Petersen VSC Tuner with the built in (pre-programmed)Pedal Steel Guitar settings and they were no where close to how I tune my guitar. Plus, I prefer the rackmount over something clumsily mounted to the leg of my guitar.

It's a tuner -- not too complicated. The front input is a great feature as it allows me to keep the thing hooked into my rack while giving the other guitarists (who are too cheap to buy a good tuner) easy access to tune. The light sucks, though. Sure, it's a light... but it's not big enough to actually illuminate anything below it.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I run mine from the uneffected output of my SansAmp RBI, so it's out of my signal chain. This isn't because it's noisy; it's because the tuner is in a 2nd rack, and I'd rather run as few cables between the racks as possible. It also means I can't use the Mute feature, but that's what the volume knob on the bass is for! The tuner picks up notes even with the volume virtually nil.

Reliability : 10
Hasn't broken yet, and it's in an Anvil-style rack case, so I don't forsee any problems in the future.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
I'd buy it again in a heartbeat... it does everything I need it to do, doesn't weigh anything at all, and stays neatly mounted in my rack instead of in a mess of cables on the floor. Very easy to read, quick to pick up notes, and was the best of the tuners I tried at picking up a low C# on the bass. A little expensive, but you get what you pay for!

Fairly easy to use. Just start pushing buttons and you'll figure it out in a minute. Strobe, Cents, and Hertz tuning modes. 7 sting guitar and 6 string bass friendly with Open E A D G and DADGAD tuning modes. I just use chromatic. Rack light is very handy. Other than that it seems like the DTR-1 in features minus the cable tester. Other than that I don't know if there is a big difference except for the price. They no longer list the DTR 1 or 2 on their site, so I would assume that this is their new top line??????

Sound Quality : 10
I've only had it for a few days, but it's already been plugged in 2 different amps. So far (knock on wood) there has not been any of the ground noise talked about with the older models. I use it in my loop thru a Peavey Ultra combo and a Marshall Valvestate amp. I tried it in and out of my loop and there is no difference in sound quality.

Reliability : No Opinion
It has plenty of nice glowing lights and I'm waiting to see how hard they will be to replace. The front is made of plastic. I don't remember if the old ones were, but I would assuime that it would break on the first fall. Can't really give an opinion yet.

Customer Support : 1
I was upset when I took it to install it in my rack and there were no rack screws included. They give you bushings for EIA standard rack????
What the ____? I don't know any semi-professional musician that does not use an SKB case. I was very disappointed that I paid $250 for a tuner you could buy handheld for $30. You pay extra to have it rackmountable and there are no rack clips included. I tried sending e-mail to Korg to ask them why and they do not accept e-mail at the addresses listed on their website (I don't call long distance for support, it is their job to have toll free numbers since they have the money).

Overall Rating : 7
The tuner works, so I can't really complain about that. I am however partial to companies that cover the "little things" with their products. I am very impartial to companies who are unreachable(I once considered buying a PRS, so I e-mailed them to get some information and they took 2 months to respond. If they wait that long to reach someone who wants to give them money, how long will they wait once they have your money and there is a problem?). I will not buy another new Korg product. If it breaks I will find a used one or go with another company that believes in customer support.

Very easy to use...

Sound Quality : 10
Being an owner of the early version of the DTR 1 & DTR 2 - they were extremely noisy useless additions to any rack ( in my opinion ). However, it seems that Korg addressed the problem with the noise - because I have this new version of the tuner in my rack where the other older model was and there is now NO noise at all - finally a rack tuner with no noise.... Reliability : 10
Owned it for a few months now - I use this in my rack 4 - 10 hours a day and not 1 problem...

Customer Support : 4
From past experience, terrible - when I contacted them about the earier version making noise, they denied it was on their part, said it was something I had connected wrong, or something else in my rack causing the noise - NOT TRUE :: Read the other reviews on earlier versions, not to mention that the new version is in the same place as the other was, and NO NOISE NOW - you tell me what was wrong...

Overall Rating : 10
The earlier version I rate a -10 the new version, 10 all the way :: Want to see and hear my full rig? Check out my website for Video Clips & MP3s @ www.jim-horne.com
