Ease of Use

Seems easy enough once you have the digital display sussed out and
your cluded up on what each parameter does.Saving and editing is simple.Setup took me about 5 minutes.

Rich digital analogue hybrid sound.Sizzling synthetic vocoder tones and robit timbres .Lush alluvian alloy sharpness to eletronica warmness.
Overall its a classic machine.Has the feel hardware wise of the poly 800 and dw series synths with a quite futuristic look and feel. Its solid built and has the mark of a future classic.
These are quite rare and i haven't seen many for sale.I came across one on ebay cheap and snapped it up as its one of those bits of gear that can be a cornucopia of trickery , from cross synthesis and shifting to harmonising and vocoding it does alot . . . it doesnt have Huge variation but has a tone and sound of its own .This is a quality bit of gear with a creative persona of its own.
If you want something to tweak vocals then get one.Combine it with a vp 9000 and an Antares autotune for total Alien angelic outspace ;) Voice synthesis and sound manipulation.
Midi wise this unit speaks it well , offers alot of control including a lovely formant funtion for liquid sphongle vocals (like the vp9000)
It also has a rather nice chorus and an esoteric function called freeze which can allow you to freeze the input or audio you are treating using midi data.Map it to freeze on midi note on and you have some very funky freeze framing potential . . All in all its a cool esotronic and ulterly unique studio device which got lost in the past.
This can do robby the robot easiliy but your missing the point i think.

Overall my advice is to buy one if you see one ! if your after a vocoder alone then there are others as good but if your after an fx unit/voice processor to add in your rack and love unique unusual gear then this is a must have . . .its quite simple at times but odd and interesting all the same . . . very futuristic soundng at times and whatever you put through it comes out tron like.I love this type of stuff .
How does it sound?
Checkout artists like Sphongle or Ishq to find out.Otherworldly , futuristic , odd pitch shifting and harmonisation. Its true potential is in its midi control-ability .
File under :-
Rare collectable Voice synthesiser.
