I love this pedal! Honestly, I am not sure why people are so down on it in these reviews. I have no problems with noise(true bypass)mine is dead quiet. It is 25 years old and mine is working perfectly. I have a Morley and Dunlop's and this is the only pedal that can handle the low end sweep I like while keeping that sweet high end quack. The trim pot adjustment is key (small pot at the lower right corner inside)turn it counter clockwise until the slot runs from 8:00 to 2:00 for more pronounced sweep. Plus, this is an auto wah, and a phaser with auto OR manual (via the pedal) control in one pedal. Try a lead with the phaser set to manual! And the double wah is over the top.

My local Korg repair shop SUCKS! But I have never had to do any work to this pedal.

I play primarily rock, metal and blues. Les Paul???s with through Marshall (JMP, SLM 6100 30th anniversary, and Mode Four). As said, I love this pedal and I would look for a replacement if lost / stolen / broken. I love that the on / off switch is at the top right rather than under the pedal (Dunlop). I love the tone, the sweep and how quiet it is. The only draw back I can come up with is that the input and output are on the same side requiring a longer cord for up front set ups. But I run this pedal at the end of my chain, so it's not really a factor.

Great after I cleaned the pot and got rid of the crackle. I use it with my Strat and '67 Bandmaster(no, you can't buy it).

I had a gear failure in it last night. Split in two. I just cleaned 'er up and crazy glued it, greased the gear and put it back together. Then took it apart again to adjust the control, just a matter of setting up where in the full range of the pot the gear should be.

I'm going to have to find another one. I'll be a bit nervous relying on a glued gear.

Relatively straight forward.

All 3 settings provide usable sounds. There is a noticeable volume drop in Wah and Wah/Phaser setting in comparison to the Phaser setting. The background noise isn't terribly bad. It's certainly usable. This may depend on the conditions of pedals.

Mine need some attention. One thing was to adjust the foot controller gearing, so that the range of pedal correspond with a useful range of speed affected by the pedal motion. This is kind of like adjusting a wah pedal to your liking.
Another was to adjust the internal trimpot, which is a range control. If you hear the phase or wah sound in the background noise but the actual sound stays virtually unaffected, try turning this trimpot counterclock-wise. The trimpot may have a paint on it but you can scrape that off so that you can turn it.
The combination Wah/Phaser position sounds quite interesting.
Oh, Mr. Multi is actually a true-bypass unit for those "tone snobs" out there. ;)

First: everyone is using this pedal wrong!!
It is perfect for bass! Guitar does NOT sound great through it, but bass does. Especially the manual phaser.

My unit is old and broken. It has needed lots of repairs, so it has been retired, and I have a near-replacement with the boss me-50b. But it's nowhere near the same. Oh well. Have to give it a low mark here for breaking down on me, but it is old.

It's really easy to use. I like the position of the bypass switch; some wahs turn off accidently with overenthusiastic pedalling.

I'm surprised to see such high ratings given to the sound, as mine is really noisy; but then again it's a very old pedal, and I'm going to give my "techie" a look at it. Maybe the old capacitors need replacing. This IS NOT just a WAH pedal; hence it's name. The really special thing is that you can control the phase sweep with the pedal, and even leave the phase at one point for a kind of acoustic or up-the-nose sound unobtainable on anything else I know of. The toggle switch decides if the pedal actually sweeps the effect (which is itself selected on a rotary switch) or controls the speed of auto-sweeping. So it's an auto-wah type effect if you want it. I don't know why a pedal with these features has not been seen since (?). I'll update after I have it serviced/modded.

Well it still works after more than a quarter of a century, totally original. I wouldn't deduct points for it needing a service after that time. It is very solid.

My favorite feature, as already mentioned, is the foot-controlled phase. As regards the guy who said the phase effect disappears at one point of the sweep: that would be the centre point, where it is in phase. This is a very cool pedal to modify. I haven't given a rating here because I suspect mine needs attention. This is the second one I have owned, and I really regretting parting with the first, some years ago. I don't recall the old one being noisy. Someone should incorporate its features into a new design.

It has more knobs than most wahs but it's still a wah. Very easy to use and more versatile because it is also a phaser.
You can switch this thing from manual to auto if you don't want to rock the pedal.

This wah suits my style. It's a very mild wah which I like. If I want to go crazy I just switch to double wah (!!) which makes you wahaw wahaw instead of wah wah...
The phaser also sounds nice.
The best thing here is that the wah does not alter the characteristic sound of your guitar. I have owned wahs where you could not tell if you were playing a Strat or a Les Paul at the time.

I love this pedal. It wahs like I want it to and it has some extra features as well. The previous owner has done some modifications. It has an extra power switch which prevents the battery towear when not in use. It has got a switch on the input jack to do the same thing but now you can leave it plugged...
The best mod is the true bypass.

Really easy to use , 3 modes phase, wah, double wah and you can set the treadle to control either auto or pedal. I don't know of another pedal on earth that can do the things this pedal can. Like having a foot controlled phaser, an auto wah, an envelop filter and a synth filter all in one!!!!

Quiet, and studio quality effect, no hums or buzzes whatsoever.
I'm using a custom les paul w/ harmonic z-90's thru a Hiwatt custom 100 amp and it sounds amazing!!
I guess when push comes to shove you can get super 70's phaser sounds ala Pink Floyd or Radiohead and super synthed out sounds ala Pink Floyd or Radiohead or just a great wah sound or auto wah sound, versatile yes are each of sounds worthwhile by themselves, hell yeah.

I play prog-esque type music and this pedal is a do it all pedal for me for all my modulation needs and filtering needs. I looked for this pedal for years because I thought it would kill 2 birds w/ one stone but it's also the best phaser around-smokes EH small stones and morley phasers though not as good as the Mutron Bi-phase, an excellent wah/auto wah and the best synthe filter ala the " synthe pedal" same filter as this pedal made by Univox and Korg. If you find one buy it they are hard as hell to find.

First of all, let me start by saying i have a vast collection of effects....and guitars, etc....This pedal sounds like it could be cool, but don't be fooled....
it's noisy as hell, sucks tone out of your guitar (NOT true-bypass, but a good mod for this pedal) I hate that you can't control the depth, only the rate...the double wah is plain awful, and the wah itself has that horrible pivot point in the sweep like on those awful dunlop wahs. All in all, the phasr is the only useful thing on this, cuz you can control the rate with the footpedal.

I use a variety of different guitars, recently mainly a 75 Les Paul Custom,
A G&L Legacy, And a Gibson Les Paul Ruby Red gem (p-90's)...
the effect gets really muddy with humbuckers, too thin with the strat pickups,
but pretty good on the p-90's...it just sucks i have to use that guitar to get it sounding decent. I play all kinds of stuff, including a mesa triple rectifier,
tremoverb combo, trace elliot speed twin halfstack..(truly an unknown gem of an amp iin the guitar world) way too many pedals to list....for a phasor, i use a mutron....which blows this away! Into experimental/emo/radiohead/noiserock/etc...

i got it all original,
was ok...
then, it started to crap out. I've replaced a couple pots and switches,
hoping it'd improve the sound...no luck...the pot went on it and i can't find another one, so now it's sitting in my closet. Keep this in mind if you're looking for one of these things....tough to find parts for because these are japanese made pedals from the 70's....Korg didn't actually make this one!

Honestly, this thing is too big to use for the tiny space i've found for it in my music. The phase almost disapears in one part of the sweep...kinda weak for my tastes....my cheap dod phasor sounds way better! I actually saw someone paid 161$ for one of these on ebay recently. RIP-OFF! I put this review up so others would know what they are getting into if they spend all kinds of $ on this very limited pedal. NOt worth more than 50$, in the scope of things,
regardless of "blue Book" or "vintage" market collectability. If the wah were actually useable (too much of a volume drop when engaged), well that would be different, and no depth! Same goes for that Roland wah fuzz pedal...cool fuzz, horrible wah.
