Ease of Use : 9
The editing is easy enough to deal with the preset patch and have plenty of free user patch.

Sound Quality : 10
Use for laser verb (nice!), delay, nice chorus and weird filter.

I have some good synth and when the sound goes by the mangler it becomes perfect. I was searching for this kind of sound for a while.

I could not image better sound. I had 2-3 effects box before, and this one is the best.

My favorite mangle sound is the reverb with a touch of laser... it really create a special touch. I'm also using some compression.

The distortion is not usable to my point of view, but I still put a 10 for sound because I think it could be use by guitarist...

Reliability : 10
It is perfect for a gig, I never had trouble with this unit (2 years).

Never had a problem!

Overall Rating : 10
I will buy it again, never found a sound like that with other type of machine in the same category.

If you have a synth without awesome effect on it, it could help a lot.

I am also using it to process some effect on my vocal.

This thing is simple to start using. You have to set it up some to really get tweaking it.

SOUNDS GREAT

I have only had it a few weeks

Uh.. I am still waiting on an answer for a question I had regarding MIDI assignments to all the parameters. I want to be able to control this from my synth. It seems by default it assigns my Mod wheel to the wet/dry mix. I would like much more assigning going on. You would think they would know how to do this EASILY.

Overall Rating : 10
This unit is well worth the price and a great addition to my studio.

This thing rocks!

Interface is dead simple - to a fault. No need for a manual if you're familiar with effects, you'll be editing presets and storing them in user banks in no time. Editing of patches is limited, but the given options are maximized. You can only alter presets, there is no building from the ground up.

Sound Quality : 9
Superd sound quality - even the "budget" 24 bit converters these days are sounding great - example, this unit. Your sound is preserved, and as I've tested this unit primarily as a guitar effect, it alters your guitar tone almost inaudibly, when fx are bypassed. No noise on analog or SPIDIF out.
The quality of the effects is generally outstanding, excluding the distortions which as a guitarist I would have no use for anyway, why these are in this box is beyond me, with every studio having a POD etc.

The real stars are the filter effects, freq shifters, lazerverbs, with some very nice phasers, choruses and flangers. Tremolo/rotary/pans are top notch too. The compressions and eqs I also see little use for as a guitarist or recording engineer, possibly if I were using it in a bass rig or acoustic guitar rig.
Overall I'm quite impressed with the quality of the filter sounds, they're quite rich and powerful and sometimes almost sound analog. Ring Mod is excellent. It has delays and reverbs but not as stand alnoe patches, only on chains (although you can bypass the other effects in the chain for only verb or delay, works fine). Although if you're used to having options for delays and verbs this unit won't do it. It does do dual delay though. I think it only has 1 reverb sound. Cranking the verb levels and time and scrolling through the types "plate, hall, room" produces little to no difference in the tonality of the verb. But its a decent sound and its workable, not great.
Pitcher is NOT a pitch shifter, its some ring mod sounding variant. This is a drawback but again mate it with another unit like the G major (via SPIDIF no less) which excels @ pitch shifting and reverb/delay, and its just killer combo. For most folks though, this could be fine as stand alone if you don't need shifting or reverb.
Rating: look out tc, look in your rearview mirror eventide, Kurzweil is here. Yes the filters and lazerverbs (filtered delay/verb) ARE JUST THAT GOOD.

This thing can just make some shocking sounds effects. Mangler is right.

Gets too hot to touch. Scroll wheel is slow and mushy. Line lump ps.

Excellent value, especially if you're into experimental sounds which this unit excels at. For garden variety effects, go with a G major or similar device. For astral navigations, look at this unit.

Makes me look really hard at their KSP8, thats the idea I guess.
