Ease of Use : 10
If you have basic soldering/desoldering skills than this is a great way to upgrade you reissue TS-9 or TS-7 Tubescreamer. Cheap, quick, easy... and great service on top of that! David gives clear instructions with the kit, which includes all of the parts to do the job: a NOS JRC4558D op-amp chip, op-amp socket, two resistors (your choice of carbon film or carbon comp "brown" resistors), and desoldering braid.

Sound Quality : 10
I have an '82 TS-9 and a new TS-7 that both were greatly improved. My '82 had a less desirable op-amp installed, so the NOS chip brought it new life. Beautiful tone and smooth distortion!

The TS-7 has a reissue JRC4558D chip, which isn't like the old ones (no matter what anybody else on eBay tells you). I just did this mod today and immediately did and A/B test with my TS-9. Sounds great... not exactly like the TS-9, but MUCH better than stock.

Reliability : 10
I guess this depends on your soldering skills. If you aren't sure, just send it to David and he'll do it for you.

Customer Support : 10
David has been GREAT to deal with. He's quick to respond to my email and has gone out of his way when I need extra parts. Wonderful service... I can't say enough about him.

Overall Rating : 10
This probably sounds like a sales plug, but I'm sold on this guy. Having looked around at what other people are charging for the same stuff, you just can't beat David. I would like to hear some of his other mods. I think he makes a pedal or two of his own...

My main thing has been picking up cheap stompboxes at the pawn shop and playing around with them. I love the idea of mods and hope to play with some more here soon. My '82 TS-9 cost me $20 at the pawn shop... add $15 for the kit and I have a KILLER pedal. Not bad...
