Its a wah pedal

Sound Quality : 10
Angelic sweep, not one crackle or pop. It's almost indescribable how incredible my stock V847 sounds now. I recommend you do as I did. Along with the tru-bypass mod, have David change your pot to the Full-Tone also, its worth it, believe me.

Reliability : 10
It's a Vox, its been reliable so far.

Customer Support : 10
David answered all my e-mail questions promptly, it was a week turn-around time. If you own a v847, you'd be crazy not to do this reasonable modification. http://www.legendarytones.com

I use my wah for everything, clean, distorted, this thing even sounded good on my acoustic, on some min7 chords, thick and once again angelic!

Sometimes my guitar, amp, and relatively modest array of pedals sounded better than other times. I assumed it was simply a matter of differences in room acoustics, but it finally dawned on me that the whole rig sounded better when the wah was eliminated from the chain. I sent my Vox 847 to Dave at Legendary Tones in order to obtain a true bypass, and sure enough, it made a noticeable improvement. Ease of use: 10 -- you stomp on it as before, no change. If anything I like the feel of the new switch better than the original.

Sound Quality : 10
Once the bypass had been installed, I tested the sound of my guitar and amp in my living room, with no distracting background noise. Adding or eliminating the Vox (which was disengaged) from the chain, I couldn't tell the difference in sound, which is just what I wanted.

Reliability : 10
No reason to think the pedal is any more or less reliable than before; I use it without backups all the time.

Customer Support : 10
Dave was quick to answer questions, knowedgeable, and understanding. Top marks.

I've been playing for 30 years, Strats and PRS's through Fender amps and also an ElectroPlex Rocket 35.

My reissue Vox is simple to use. Click on/off. One thing that bugged me about it is that stock I always had to push on it pretty hard to get it to turn on/off. Talked to Dave at Legendarytones and he adjusted it for me no sweat in addition to doing the killer true bypass mod. Now it clicks on/off without struggling or stompin' it hard.

Sound Quality : 10
This is a killer wah. With the true bypass mod in that Legendarytones did, its now way better. The sound with it off doesn't affect the tone going into the amp. Dave also told me that even if the battery dies, the wah will still get a bypass signal going into the amp so that's very cool.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank as a wah, plus these things have been made since what?, the 60s? so its a time-tested design. As for the mod, its definitely reliable since Legendarytones only uses the Carling DPDT switches.

Customer Support : 10
Dave's very cool over there. I sent him the wah and he modded it and sent it back with the old parts the next day! I was pretty surprised at that. Always answered my e-mails promptly

I was lucky because I got mine done at the intro price at $25 including shipping. I know that Dave wasn't making any money on that - the shipping he paid was $13 back to me and it was included in the price - so I thought it would be cool to say "Thanks" to him and his staff and post the mod info here. He told me the price was going up to $45.00 soon, but that's still definitely worth it and he's still paying the return shipping. I'll get all my true-bypass mods done through him. They're on the web at www.legendarytones.com. It's also a cool site about getting great tones and other things. There's a Van Halen article on there that is pretty cool also.
