The Lehle Parallel L turns your amps serial effects loop into a switchable parallel loop but it will also work between guitar and amp! At first I was puzzled by the fact that it has three level knobs (Send, Return amd MIx), but the manual said that if you keep Return and Send at noon you'll have unigain - a good starting point. The loop can be adjusted to balanced or unbalanced devices and also has a phase switch, which makes this unit incredibly versatile.

Lehle has buildt high quality bypass boxes for quite some time now and I consider his unique passive Splitter box an absolute must have for any guitarist who wants to combine vintage guitar-amp setups with modern effects routings. This little effect mixer is another very welcome step in this direction. The use of bypass boxes for tone sucking effects in widely spead these days, but you won't believe how much noise and phase artefacts a lot of digital effects like delays, reverbs and modelling devices add to the DRY signal you are running through them. With the Lehle I can actually use the Boss RE-20 on stage, without it I simply cannot. Other uses: parallel overdrive or distortion - well maybe. But parallel compression is really nice! With the added gain of the Send you could actually overdrive your effects if you like. I guess you can sum two signal together the normal input and the Return. The overall sound quality is great, like we have come to expect from Lehle gear.

Like all Lehle stuff the Parallel L is not cheap, but really well made and loaded with extra features that come in handy in the long run. Worth every penny.
