Ease of Use : 10
no brains required at all (so best suited for guitarists).
----
actually, choosing between plate and room is sometimes difficult so go for room in verses and plate in choruses as its brighter.
----
many equipment designers could learn a great deal if they only tried this awesome machine.

I love being able to hear the verb in music but I sorta think there must be something out there that works better with vocals and snare in a mix but will keep using this until it comes along as i have for the last 8 years...it rokx and can always be heard.

I have a PCM-80 here also right now whos editing is nice for details but somehow the PCM-60's simple innocence speaks louder.

Grainy and rich with a definite character and tone all of it's own.

Its quite simply the easiest effects. Only reverb. No editing required. Quite straight forward to use. Just few switches.

Sound Quality : 10
I use it in my digital home studio, aside by my PCM 80. Surprisingly I prefer to use the reverb for vocals from the PCM 60. I know its an old and little noisy unit but the reverb is big and dense and something about it gives the vocals that little analog warmth.

Reliability : 10
Very old unit, but never had a problem.

Have been in touch with lexicon before and found them very prompt.

Overall Rating : 10
I am a fan of good reverb and to be honest, I have even heard the PCM90 but thought the 60 though old and bit noisy sounds better to me.

If you need only a reverb and you're lucky, try to find one!

Ease of Use : 10
It is very easy to use as it has only 8 front buttons to combine

Sound Quality : 10
This is only a reverbe chamber, but the quality is excellent. I used it since 1984 as overall ambience reverb. You can use with any sound and it it will always work.

Reliability : 10
It never breaks down.

This reverberation unit is good for everything. I suggest for live mixing as well. It is almost impossible to find used since none is selling it. The only problem is that it is big and heavy compared with today's modules. Just use at the end on the final mix, a bit on every channel.

The PCM 60 is an older reverb unit from Lexicon around 1984. I was the studio and live sound standard prior to the PCM 70. It just does reverb. There is no display screen or midi interface. The unit is mono in, stereo out, with -20/+4db switched on both the in and out jacks. That makes it super versitile. This is the kind of box where reading the manual is totally optional. The box is really easy to use.

Sound Quality : 10
This is a reverb only box. No extra junk sloshin' around in the bottom of the bucket. The unit is killer. The reverbs are natural with nice tails that aren't metallic and artificial. The nice thing about this box is the input signal is not corrupted by the circut, or as Eric Johnson would say, "It does't mess with the tone." I have found only a handfull of products that don't ruin your input signal. I use the PCM 60 in the fx loop of a Bogner amp. It works out really well, the two seem to get along. The controlls of the box are, input level, fx level, mix ratio, then there is a bunch of buttons for selecting: Plate/Room, 4 room sizes, 4 reverb lengths, and a Hi and low filter, which effects the eq of the reverb only.

Reliability : 10
It is an old, or as some would say/market, "vintage" piece so I doubt I'd be able to find one. This thing has been around so I think it will be ok in my rack.

Lexicon is a few towns away from me so if I needed any servicing I think it wouldn't be a big deal.

Overall Rating : 10
It is a cool box. It does one thing very well, with out making a mess of the input signal.
