Ease of Use

Just plug using a common network cable (RJ-45 connector) and it's done, no additional power supply. Then calibrate the expression pedal, what's very easy, and it's ready to play.
Can't be easier that this.
Sound Quality
:
No Opinion
The FBV Express only controls the sounds from my POD X3 bean, anyway it switches from patch to patch very quietly, as well as the expression pedal operation.

This pedal has a metal chassis, and it's really sturdy. It's heavy, and it gives you a strong sensation of reliability. Even the only cable it uses is easy to be found and replaced, a cheap network cable with RJ-45 connectors.
I chose the POD X3 bean + FBV Express combo instead of the POD X3 Live alone because of the many many problems posted by the X3 Live users. The X3 Live is all made of plastic, with fragile footswitches. If you take a look at Line 6 forums, or any other specialized forums, you'll see how many X3 Live units are becoming defective. Line 6 did a very bad job and it's killing its reputation.
So I leave my POD X3 bean at a safe place and the FBV Express goes to the floor, and I gig with no worries about the fat guys stepping over it, the kicks, the spreading beer, etc. FBV Express is built like a tank, I use it without a backup with no worries, it would survive to the Armageddon. The X3 Live would NEVER support these hardcore conditions! I'd like to have one instead, but X3 Live is a JOKE!! Such a shame, Line 6!!

The Line 6 guys actually post on their forum, what is pretty cool. I didn't need anything up to now, anyhow.

I play pop rock, progressive metal, death metal and some rock and roll. I play at home (recording), studio (rehearshals) and also live. I use the FBV Express to control my POD X3 bean.
As I said above, the main reason I chose the POD X3 bean + FBV Express combo was because Line 6 is manufacturing a rubbish pedal called X3 Live. I wanted a X3 Live, because it would be much more practical, but I can't trust a piece of crap like that, with defective footswitches, plastic chassis, lots of unsatisfied users, etc.
So I'm using the easy, practical and sturdy FBV Express, which I can trust. My only desire would be the possibility to change from tones 1/2 on the POD X3, but since the FBV Express was conceived before POD X3 existed, I don't think it's possible.
