Ok Its easy to get a "sound" out of it but you probably need to tweak some here and there to get a "good" sound but then again maybe I dont know a good sound. Editing patches is easy find a sound you want then hold down the button till it flashes and its saved. The manual is GREAT it gives info on the different effects, suggested settings and pics to boot. Line 6 is a great new company for guitarists

Im running a PRS Custom 24->FM4->DM4->VOX AC-30. the effects are not noisy or sound digital. I think Line 6 went way out of its way to make these synths sound like synths and not cheap digital imations. I LOVE the Synth-o-matic setting and its very picky like a real synth for ex. if you play more then one note it goes haywire but it never sounds the same every time. I really like a band called Reggie and the Full Effect and they use a moog synth so thats kinda the reason i checked into one of these and then i just fell in love with it. I also find that having this pedal actually helps me write songs cause of all the sound options i have with it. I think all the settings are usable its just finding out where and when.

Well its a purple heavy hunk of metal so i doubt anything could possibly happen to it and i think Zoom and Digitech needs to take a look at Line 6's line of stomp-box modelers and then go back to the drawing boards cause their little, horrible sounding pieces of plastic just arent going to cut it anymore.

I think this pedal was a long time coming cause no other recent pedal maker dared attempted to even try to model filters and synths which is bad especially since weird noises are all the rage now. But Line 6 did it again as with the delay, modulation, and distortion the pedal ends up being a masterpiece and i cant wait to see what they throw at us next. NO I DONT WORK OR PAID BY LINE 6 I JUST KNOW A GOOD PRODUCT WHEN I SEE IT AND LINE 6 STOMP BOX MODELERS ARE A GOOD PRODUCT.

Ok, do you know a lot about synths? because these are the most intimidating 5 knobs i have ever dealt with (i am a guitarist first, have got 8 of my 10 fingers around a korg MS2000 synth) this is very hard, but a lot of fun to play around with, you can tell Line6 put time in this. although i have only had it for about 8 hrs now, i have gotten close to some of the sounds i am looking for, and still can't decide whether to put the EH Big Muff PI infront or behind it, because both pos. do wild and crazy things to it. this is going to be fun tomarrow. there are only 4 patches, so get them righ quick, or you may not want to sleep again.

Peavey Wolfgang special (makes anything else look like it was from service mercandise, (humble opinion, i have to take it with me though to any shop to try new gear, thos HB are just too hot to compare to anything) through a Russian EH Big muff The FM4 to a Fender Hotrod Deluxe. hmmm, favorite artists, well, i am not trying to sound like any of them soooo, no. but if you could imagine Jimi shot up w/ a little Spacemen 3 and a bit of aphex twin, you are pretty close here.
Everything of so far works well, just have to tweak it right and WATCH THAT VOLUME KNOB. THIS THING IS VERY SENSITIVE (damn pickups, hehe)

well i would have to. who said musicians have money. after lawyer and verious drug habits (caffine is a drug, up 48 hrs and counting. but the thrill of new gear does that to me. i didn't sleep for 3 days when i got my Korg MS2K) i can depend on this. it is very rugged, and the knobs are tucked safley away

I play a 60's/70/s influenced drone noise rock. with techno influences. Having been playing for 10 years, i have tried to simplify my setup, reling mostly on the Vox wah i forgot to mention above, and the big muff. i used to use an effects processor, but i always tried to make that sound like a noisy old synth anyway. this is just a little easier (after the learning curve.) If you are looking to do PsYchEdelIC than this is your pedal. i hopt to have a lot of fun with it. and if i get a little dissonant, just go into quiet white noise.
oh yea,

This is my first experience with one of Line 6's stompboxes. It takes a little getting used to. It comes with 4 factory presets, and they are decent. The bad thing about this pedal is that once you have a preset, its impossible to go back and 'tweak' your preset (since the knobs are memorized, then if you move them.....no tweaking. YOu have to remember, or write down, where the knobs were at).

I play Fender Strats (1 American Standard, 1 Voodoo) into a Cry Baby->DOD Envelope filter->FM4->Jeckll & Hyde->Digitech RP21->Old Music Man amp. If you are looking for truly weird sounds, this thing is crazy! It has some great envelopes, and the synth sounds are good too. The synth sounds need to be played one note at a time (no double stops!). If you play more than one note, the thing goes nuts (but, then again....weird sounds IS the name of the game here).

I play in a rock band. Been playing 15 years. I dont know if I'd replace it if it were stolen or lost, I've only had it a week and havent got attached to it yet. But, give me a few weeks, and I'm sure I'd HAVE to replace it. The sound options are almost endless here.......and used sparingly throught a gig, this thing can REALLY turn heads and leave impressions. If youre just an average joe, this baby will make you stick out like tits on a boar.
My band tends to lean towards the funk end of things when writing originals.....and for sparking creativity, this baby seems to be a gold mine. You get some really weird synth sounds that seem to trigger creativity...as well as some great Hendrixy sounds (listen to "Machine Gun" or "Star Spangled Banner").
