Very cool product for the price. I work at a Guitar Center and got a ton of **** from my friends and other employee's who work there. "Why are you buying this piece of ****?!" "Dude, you have NO idea what you are paying for here..." and so on. Well, they can say whatever the hell they want because this thing is tight. Very easy to use and figure out. Totally cool on both guitar and bass. I have used all sorts of processors from the GT8 to the all sorts of Digitech models and this thing holds it's weight against those big boys. Of course it is not the Vox Tonelab SE which in my opinion is the best processor there is...but still very cool and affordable! Seriously, go check one out. If you don't like it then DON'T BUY IT! But if you're like me and think this thing is pretty awesome for the cash, then do yourself a favor and pick one up!

Very easy to use. Intuitive operation, simple enough, turn a few knobs, and bingo, you have a tone.
I only refered to my manual to see how to calibrate the Wah/Vol pedal.
The manual is small and good to read, not over technical, althrough, it does few incomplete at sections (like the pedal calibration section, or something about the Dist foot boost).
Editing patches is a breeze, and Line6 even was kind enough to let 4 presets blank, so you can start there.
This unit is self contained, and as so, it doesn't have any data connectivity or upgrades possible.
I would love if it had a USB connection to backing up patches.
And if there wasn't 2 function knobs. I would rather have 1 function per knob.
Operation-wise, there's only one big complain, to acess the tuner, you have to bend down and hold the tap key for 2 secs. I would rather had to hold one or two footswitches instead.
Other than that, no complain.

Well, here, this thing shines.
It's sound pretty damn good to me. I usually leave it in the JCM800 model, with gain at about 50% and that??s perfect for me. The Soldano model is pretty useful too, and even the Rectifier model is usable, which surprised me.
On the low gain area, i liked the Plexi model, and the AC30 model, the Fender Twin sounds a little off to me, very different than a real Twin.
The fuzz model, is awful, its overly bassy and WAY too hum-my, it's unsable, everything i select it, i get this bulbous low hum. Maybe my unit is defective ?
This thing has a pretty defined tone, but it can get muddy if you max out the gain (especially on the higher gain models).
I love that 80's rock tone and the JCM model, delivers that.
I usually play straight into my computer or mixer, but i used on the return of some amps (using the Floor POD as a pre-amp) and i loved the result too, just go easy on the Master Volume, using it this way.
I'm using a Ibanez S series guitar, with Dimarzio Evolution on Bridge, and a YJM on the neck, and it sounds really good.
The effects are not the best, very few and not tweakable enough.
The flange and the chorus sounds weak and always "too much" you can't get that nice subtle flange sound.
The phaser is good, but i would use it more, if the volume of the effect were a little lower.
The trem, i never used, really, but it seems okay.
The delays are good, very usable, and nice range and time. however it does sound digital, so it doesn't degrade the sound, it's a faithfull delay.
The verb, is useful, but it's always too full, good for surfy sounds.
The dist/boost, is quite useless imho, at least, i don't like to have a boost, without knowing which frequencies/dist i am boosting and how much.
The wah is weird, it works wonderfully well with distorted models, but it distorted the clean sounding ones when it's close to toe position, i tried to recalibrate the pedal more than once, but no luck. I guess i will have to learn to use it with clean sounds.
To sum it up : i think this unit sounds great, because the amp models are great. The effects are pretty much there for cosmetics, but i use the delay quite a bit.

Seems pretty sturd to me, but i take good take of my gear, and i??m not a pirotech on the stage.
I have giged with mine, withtout a backup, i do that often, in fact.
Never had a problem with it. The power supply is well designed, it sits on the floor, and its not a wall-wart, the cable is long, and the unit stays in place in the floor.
The knobs seem resistant, and the switches too. But i haven't had mine for long, but so good so far.

Overall, this is a great unit. It's small, fits into the Gigbag of my guitar. Sounds great, and to me, its better than the direct concorrent, which i was comparing to, the Zoom G2.1u, the Zoom has better fx, and usb connectivity, but the Line6 has way better amp models. I choose the Line6, because i needed something that would work well for recording at home, for practicing at night, and to play for real into a gig. Since i don't drive and i take the bus, the unit has be small and light, which kills a lot of possibilities. But i am happy with the Line6.
Also i need to be able to switch from Clean to Distorted with my feet, which discarded the Pocket Pod.
I usually play my Ibanez into the Floor POD and into the Mixer, and so far, no problems at all.
I have a no brand strat too, and it sounds good through the Flood POD too, but i have it setup for my S.
Anything i wish it had - A better wah, the ability to acess the tuner with your feet, usb for backing up presets, a easier to access and use master volume knob.
It does help me make music, and i got some nice compliments from my tone, which always indicates something good, right ?
No piece of gear is perfect, that is a fact, and this little guy has a LOT of limitations, however, i did my research and was aware of most of the limitations before hand, so none of them is stuff that really bothers me.
But this, as any piece of gear, depends on how well you use it.

I am astounded by some of the reviews for this product, it sounds great to me and i've tried all sorts of stuff boss, digitech, korg, etc they are all fizzy rubbish, o.k. if you like that sort of thing, this is an amp modeller and it does a good job. yes it's noisy but so is a real amp turned up, learn how to play and control it. running mine through a peavey rage 158 home use only. giving it a 9 as i guess a 10 would need a real amp in a studio turned up! clean sounds are great too.

This product is quite easy to use. All the functions are infront of you of tweak at your own pleasure. For noteable comments:
(i) no separate knobs for mid, presence, compression (these are doubled and need to press additional button to activate this). This is annoying because you never know really what setting you put if you start using the knob for the other functions.
(ii) although the effects are easy to use, thats a bad thing. Would like more functions relating to effects; but you get what you buy.
(iii) also everytime you change the amp model setting, the master volume resets to a default level, despite what level you actually leave the master volume knob

I've read many reviews about how good the sound is. Im afraid that this is just not true. I dont want to sound like a hate (i wish it sounded good cause i spent alot of money on it), but its terrible. none of the amp models have any real 'crunch' for heavier stuff (nothing close to the crunch of a BOSS pedal). When you play and mute the strings, this is where you really realise that the distortion is extremely weak and non-crisp. Also, this pedal seems to attract ALOT OF FREAKING noise - although you should expect some with singcoils pickups, this is unacceptable. also the when you play lead, the articulation of individual notes is horrible. its so annoying when you just want a decent sound, but all you get is a cheap, muddy, light, non-crisp sound from all the settings. I am totally dissapointed and already planning to get a different multi-effects pedal. I use this pedal with a American Tele, LP standard and Japanese made Strat.

You could rely on this with no problems. But the real problem lies with its horrible sound. Really breaks my heart. I could actually feel the depression creeping into my soul when i first tried out this pedal when i got home. I should have tested it in the shop instead of buying a product purely based on a budget

There are 2 ways to use this, use the presets which I think is the best way- or in FX mode.
The latter wasnt of much use for me but it DOES allow you do add EFFECTS on top of the presets to allow for combinations which cannot be stored on the presets. The 'Distortion' pedal facility in the FX setting though just provides a nasty boost and its hard to see how this can adjusted. The manual doesn ot explain this either.

This is where the unit really shines and although Ive stayed away from multi effects til now Line 6 Floor Pod excels.
Distortions are great it seems inpossible to get a bad sounds with the amp modelling- from clean to INSANE it's all in there.
The best thing about the Floor POD for me is the effects themselves. Since I use Distortion boxes my use for the floor pod is for Chorus, Flanger, Phaser and the Volume pedal.
I just use the spare user presets on banks 61-64 and saved my desired modulation effects just how I like them.
The 'Smart Conrtol FX' allows for the ultimate simplicity in setting your effects. It is easy to add compression where it is needed and fine tune volume levels then save them with the press of a button.
If you use the effects like I do- without using amp modelling then the unit is completely EQ-transparent and the effects sound BETTER than some of the boutique individual boxes I collected.

I play heavy rock and shredder- Steve vai, Nuno Bettencourt etc are my favourite players.
I have been playing all my life seems like and always get inspired to try something new gearwise. Multi effects until now werent my thing. I was at a Perry Farrel's Satellite Party gig recently and checked out Nuno Bettencourt's rig. that guy can make anything sound good- he was using alot of phaser and wah. I noticed he had a BOSS GT-8 multi effects on the stage with a Proco RAT and another Boss pedal going into a Marshall. This is what inspired me. I have built my perfect rig for wah and gain boxes and just wanted to get a smaller multi effects to use alongside it and in place of my modulation pedal board rig.
The thing I like about this is it is SO easy to set up and sound exactly how you want it. It is simple to dial in just the right sounds from your effects and get them sounding great.
If this were stolen Id buy another. If theres one thing it could have which would make it better Id say it should let you toggle the different presets while in bypass mode. this would be very useful so you cant hear the effects being changed. Instead the bypass automatically comes off when you select the presets up or down.

Some very good sounds right out of the box with this pedal. Although I don't see any real use for some of the presets.
Editing the patches is quite simple since it has a very analog look and feel to it. However, you are limited in the number of different types of effects you can store within a preset because of the way that Line6 groups them on the controls. The Effects are set up three per knob; flange/chorus, phaser, and trem on one knob; delay, sweep echo, and reverb on the other. While this is a good way to organize them, I find that it makes it so that you cannot combine any effects that are on the same knob within a single preset. Whether you would want to or not is a different issues.
The manual for this unit is pretty useless. It just tells you what each knob and switch do, it does not give you any suggestions for creating your own sounds or how to get specific tones that you might want, you have to play around with the unit for that.
There is no firmware upgrade for these units either. What you get is what you are stuck with forever!

The amp models are really sweet on this unit. You can get quite a range of sounds by combining the various amp models with the different effects. There is a channel volume control and tone controls for each amp model which is very cool. The wah/volume pedal is OK, but I prefer to use an external Wah pedal with this unit which is doable as there is a bypass switch that lets you cut out the Line6 and use other pedals/Stomp Boxes if you so choose. I am currently using this pedal with 2 Crate GFX 212's and it's nice because the Floor POD has stereo outputs which let's me plug it into both amps. I do not use the amp effects, I just set the clean channels manually on both amps and use the effects on the Floor POD. It's very loud and very good. I have 3 different guitars, 1 is SSH (Ernie Ball) one is HH (Steinberger) and one is SSS (American Strat) and all of them sound awesome through this unit. I have my presets arranged based upon which guitar I'm going to be playing.
The Built-in tuner on this unit is very good. The only problem is it's hard to switch to the tuner with your foot. You have to bend down and hold the tap button until the unit switches to tuner mode which takes about 2 seconds. It would be nice if you could switch the tuner on with your foot.
Reliability

So far I am moderately pleased with this unit. I have had a problem with the pedal volume. when I first turn the unit on, the volume is quite loud (which is dangerous if you are using headphones out the headphone jack) and then if I touch the volume pedal as if to turn the volume up, the volume gets softer. I found this to be true when using the tuner that when you come out of the tuner into regular mode, it's louder than normal for a few seconds and then it goes back to normal volume. Now that I am use to how it works, I'm fine with gigging with this unit. I think it is very reliable. I have it mounted on a pedal board with my Wah Pedal and I take it with me when I go.

Line6 support is OK. Their website is set up with a series of forums which are organized based on product line. I don't think some of the advice one receives from the forums is all that useful though and it would be nice if you could call and talk to someone when you have questions. When I complained about the volume issue on the Floor POD, they told me it was a defective unit so I took it back to Guitar Center for a replacement. When I got the replacement unit home, I had the same exact issue. When I posted that information into the forum, they told me I had power problems in my house. But I have the same exact issue with this pedal regardless of where I plug it in. As I said above though, now that I know how to deal with it, it's not a huge problem. I have not yet had to send the unit in for repair. I bought an extended warranty on mine through Guitar Center so I will likely go that route if the pedal breaks on me.

This unit is a good match for me. I'm just a hobbyist who jams with friends once in a while. I play some blues and classic rock tunes and I can get pretty much the sound that I want out of this unit. I will say that once this thing goes out on me, I'm not buying another one. I will probably buy something better like the Floor POD plus or a higher end BOSS. I compared this unit to some digitech units that I was considering and for the price, this unit is easier to use and has better sounding effects and amp models than the digitechs did. I also compared it to some Boss effects units which were higher priced. I ended up picking this unit because of the price, the analog look and feel and the ease of use.

I need to edit this review! I use a MexiStrat HSS with custom pickups I ordered from the American Lone Star Fat Strat.. My review on this unit was a bit premature, and I apologize.. Though I do love the feel, color, and ease of use with Line6's Floor Pod, I found that there was an incessant high pitch I could not get around (I mentioned to solve it by turning the tone button down on the guitar.. this was a mistake). After more testing, I found that even in BYPASS mode, my strat lost a good part of it's low to midrange (testing it by going straight into amp, then through the POD using bypass mode).. I took it back and after reading the VERY detailed harmony central review on Digitech's new RP250 (for 149.99 free shipping), I decided to order this pedal. The DNA2 chipset is more recent than the DNA1 chipset in much more expensive GFX series!! It has USB programability functions with free software to download etc, etc.. Though I have not tried it, even the MP3 sounds 'sound' better than the LINE6.
Gotta have the latest flash player, but listen for YOURSELF!
http://digitech.com/RP250Demo/
vs.
http://line6.com/floorpod/sounds.html
Perhaps a Les Paul or humbucker only setup is more suited for this unit, but my #2 strat position suffered a loss of original tone!! I don't want a multieffects box to MASK the sound, but to bring it out!!

Easy to use, not too big. Multiuse knobs and stomp pedals simplify the layout and provide a simplistic look, while still providing full tonal and expression tweaking. I personally like the less is more approach. The Wah pedal is nice. It's not too hard to lock in place to change from Volume control to Wah.. I wish you could map other things (like delay time or volume, etc.) to the pedal because it's such a nice pedal, and seems sturdy, but it is what it is..
Wah, or Volume.. Patches are easily edited and then moved (if desired) to other numbers. It's a numeric scrolling method, so you better keep your favorite patches close to each other.. It does scroll fast when you hold, however.

The amp cabs are from the Pod 2, I believe. Never owned one, but it has a good variety from crystal clean to metal grungy (packing plenty of bass).. In GENERAL, most of the cleaner amp sims (which i like) have TOO much treble! After reading a Pod XT review, I decided to go against my instinct and turn down the tone on my Lone Star Strat (with PG Pro Humbucker), and it is much better.. The reverb and chorus are good, although the chorus' minimal setting is a bit high for MY taste. You can easily set delay times for these effects through the 'tap' method, but you can't differentiate the delay for reverb and chorus (or tremelo) on the same patch.. Didn't like this, but perhaps it's more musically accurate this way? The noise gate works well and keeps a really hot setting from humming when you set the guitar down..

It's new, so I can't say much on this yet, but the unit appears very solid, and the metal bar connected to it's metal bottom (the rest plastic) seems to add not only a good handle for one handed transport, but a sense of protection to the unit.

I play for a church once a week, and a shelter twice a month with my Fender Lone Star Strat with Pearly Gates Plus humbucker in the Bridge. I also use a Gibson EC10 Acoustic electric cutaway, but have not tried this one yet with this unit (I use a Pandora PX4) .. I was looking for a simple multi effects FLOOR unit with some fairly clean or bluesy classic amp simulations I could toggle to go through a mixer and PA to bring out my Strat sound. I think the Floor Pod is a good choice for my needs especially since I recently backed off the tone on my guitar. The more time I spend with it in experimenting, the more flexible I see this unit is.. I would recommend it, especially for the price!!
