at the end of the day, it's an ABY box. but here's the thing. custom colour, customer LED's, handbuilt, shipped to the UK. and STILL cheaper and better than the el crapo box in the local guitar store.
would buy from david again and again. in fact, i'm just about to!

I got the bare bones, unpainted stock version. The bottons and ins/outs are labeled well and perform exactly as indicated ... and the LEDs are great for tracking the active channel (with AC power). Dave even includes a brief instruction sheet to make the learning curve less steep.

As far as I can tell, this device provides flawless signal routing to one or both of my amp modelers. I never hear popping when switching from A to B or A/B or channel bleeding, for that matter.

I have only owned my looper for a little over a month and, though it looks incrediby rugged, it is too early to say.

Dave was experiencing some home disasters when I made my order, so there was a little bit of a delay. Considering what had happended, he still managed to come through in a reasonable amount of time ... he even busted his behind and pulled an overnight to finish my loooper. Now that's service!

This was a more expensive option that some of the mass produced AB/Y boxes out there, but does not seem to exhibit the issues I have read about related to using them ... or even some of the pricier units. Mr. Boggs definietly knows his loopers and builds some quality products, IMHO.

I'm using this device to do the ab/y thing between stereo m/b mk combos with rack fx, (and pedal board, studio session set-up)and an old Laney 50 (strange, this one has no bells and whistles just incredible plexi sound and LOUD). Anyway, the idea is to be able to morph sounds, and the Laney is just plug and play (dry). The concept was to do a tone shaping thing like line six, but with real amps. Yep it works. THIS IS THE ONLY AB/Y DEVICE THAT DOES NOTHING OTHER THAN WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO. Nothing nasty or colorful about it. My tone didn't change-period.

This thing would be dificult to kill. Standard Hammond box, leds, true bypass switches, (the Good Ones),and seeing as I only have one, got it today, got a gig tomorrow, chances are good it'll be with me and in use.

Dave Boggs is a Keeley kind of guy, you don't deal with many folks of this caliber. Dave is a man of his word, in my dealings with him. Backs his stuff up too. Repair/support is there if/when I need it. Thanks Dave.

This unit has allowed me to expand my rig, my sound. Been playing 38 years, playing all styles ('lectric) I love the simplicity of this unit, the led's are arranged to make sense, easy to read. I've compared this unit to others, and it's a no brainer for me, I've got plenty of tone shapers, but I like to be able to turn them off. This ab/y just does what it has been told, and is even forgiving in those odd times of pilot error. Asked what I wish it had? Well a petit blonde would be nice. Finally, this guy is capable of making any swiching device you may require, at a fair/great price. He listens to what you want to do, and makes it happen. If you look around out there you'll see some of your favorite players have one, a worthy investment for sonic sculpters.

Dave is great.
I bought this to switch from my guitar amp direct to a PA system through an Electroharmonics Octave Multiplexer. This allows me to double myself on bass. I bought the Octave pedal FIRST on Ebay. Dave hand built and shipped the ABY pedal and got it to me BEFORE my already built Ebay item arrived!

No clicks, no hum, no noise. It makes less noise than my Lehle, which screws up any Fuzzs and wahs that you place after it. My Keeley Germanium SD1 goes crazy after the Lehle, not with the Loooper!
Guitar - Budda Wah - Loooper ABY - A side - Keeley SDI - Phase 90 -JCM800; B side - Keeley TS9 - Keeley Compressor - Lehle 1@3 - various other f/x - Normal and Vibrato inputs on a Fender Super Reverb RI;

I'd have another - I could have built it myself but the price is excellent - the parts would have cost me not much less!
Better than the Lehle, although not as many options. Better than the cheap A/B I once had and better than the Boss one.

The beauty of the Looper a/b/y amp switching pedal is the ability to custom design it. You plan it out. You lay it out. So, just don't do anything you can't easily use. My Looper is an a/b/y switch to run into one or both of my amps. It has colored led's to tell me which amp(s) are on and which amp it will go to if I turn the a&b option off. Next, there are two effects loops, with different colored led's. Loop one goes to both amps, for OD, distortion and wah. Loop two goes to the second amp for timed effects. There is a switch to run the effects either direct or through a TRS cable into the amps effects loop. Finally, a tuner mute for tuning and changing guitars, with its own colored led. Its easy, useable in the dark, and very simple to know what is doing what any any time.

The pedal is feeding a 1x12 Carr Slant 6v and a modded 1x12 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. I play either a PRS McCarty, Alvarez Yari acoustic electric or my workhorse, a completely altered Mexican strat with Duncan JB, JB Jr., and Lil' 59 and rewired switching to play any pickup in any configuration with independent volume controls and coil splitting. I don't play many effects: an MJM blues devil, Keeley modded Rat, and Teese Wah. I'm looking for a good delay pedal. With all the configurations, I expected some noise. There are only a few pickup selections that seem to be more noisy. Otherwise, the tone is great and there is virtually no added noise or hum. I was blown away! And the sounds I can get from blending the two amps is outstanding. I can merge the Marshall-like dirty channel of the Carr with a clean or feedback saturated tone from the Fender, or get that Robben Ford type fullness from running both amps clean overdriven, or any of a million combinations. I have barely begun to tap the options.

Here's the cream. I have terrible g.a.s. I mean, its a problem. It also means, I have a fair amount of experience dealing with service folks and technicians. What I've always admired about Robert Keeley, Zach Vex, Geoffery Teese, and now Dave Boggs, is outstanding personal committment to what they do. Dave, however, went over and beyond. He wanted to know what I wanted to accomplish, worked on ideas to make it easier, checked with me to avoid confusion or mistakes and kept me informed about the status of my order. I never had to ask. I have zero doubt about long term support. He care's about his product and whether it fits me like a glove.

I play blues, R&B, rock in many manifestations and some clean more folk and jazzy stuff. I need flexibility from my rig, but I don't want it if it sacrifices "tone". I've been playing for 33 years. The Loooper is about to become command central. It sits in the middle of the board and lets me navigate. With my strat and four amp channels, set to various volume, tone and gain configurations, I can go everywhere I want to be with just a few little buttons and dials. I love it. I love that it's personalized to my wants and needs. I would definitely replace it if it was lost or stolen. I haven't compared it to other a/b/y's, like the Framptone, but I've compared the reviews and set it up next to my pain-in-the-ass standards. What made the difference, for me, was that I could flex it to my needs and, well, its a great pedal made by a great guy. I am one happy man!

I use the box to split my signal after a couple of pedals and my Guild Starfire into to older Valco made amps (40's Supro and 50's Dwight). I use one side for my rack effects (Digitech 2120 which I really don't like but can't get rid of) and use the older Supro for non-effected tone. I can hear some popping, but my tone is completely intack, so I have no complaints. One point off for popping, but far better than any mass produced ABY out there.

This is the real story here. Dave Boggs was always prompt with replies, quick to explain the details between his box and the expensive Lehle's and Framptone's. I had another boutique maker quote me twice as much, so you can't beat the price. Plus, I wanted a specific layout in a specific sized box. Dave offered to do it for $15. Feeling cheap at the time I said do it normal, so he offered to do if for free for experimentation sake. I still paid for the upgrade, but talk about working for your needs! I expect no problems.

Can't really say too much about an ABY box, except that I had excellent service to my specifications, built by one guy here in the States for the same price as something mass-produced by foreign hands. I'm normally not one to care, but more and more I find the good quality is in the US boutique range. Again one point off for the popping, but that's nothing.

Very easy to use. I wanted to use two guitars with one amp, which is also slaved out occasionally to a second amp. Simple as one, two, three. Just plug the guitars into the A and B inputs and then the amp to the output. I also pluged two amps to one guitar and it works great!

Without a doubt the best ABY box on the market. No tone bleed, no ground hum, and no crossover noise. Pure tone from both guitars, minus the obvious signal loss from the split. Just crank the volumne up a notch and you have the same line level you would have with one guitar. I looked and listened to the Morley and the Whirlwind and they did not compare with this box.

Built like it was going on the space shuttle. I opened up the unit to have a look and the wiring is all done by hand. Talk about point to point hand wiring, well this is it! The wiring must have taken hours to complete. The box itself looks very sturdy. Dave will give you any color you want and you can even order custom lights.

Dave Boggs is the easiest and most patient man you could ever deal with. I must of emailed him ten times asking questions and he usually answered them within hours. All this service for a box which he sells for $60.00!! If there were a 12 in this catagory, I would give it to him. If he ever goes public with his company, I will be the first in line to buy stock!

As I have stated earlier in this review, this is, in my opinion, the best ABY on the market. If you are in need of any kind of switching device for your musical needs then call Dave. If it were lost or stolen, I would reorder in a heartbeat. Great product, Great customer service, what more could a guy ask for.

Easy as cake.1 input-3 outs-Normal A or B or AB together set up.I ask Dave for an additional tuner out that when turned on would mute A and B.The third output/mute feature makes my set up much more flexible.
The 3 LED's are nice and bright.Switches feel rugged and the box has a cool copper paint job.
One minor issue may be that the switches are in a pyramid configuration that makes it hard to hit the top switch without hitting the others accidentally. The top switch on mine is the tuner out so I'm not to concerned with it.Also I'm sure if you ask Dave he would try and configure it any way you wanted.
