The Loooper and Sooper Loooper, made in Indiana by David Boggs, is a straighforward pedal. Its main function is to allow us stomp box users to easily turn on more than one effect with the click of one switch instead of having to tap dance to get multiple pedals on all at once. It does this by having a series of "loops" having send and return jacks in which you can run multiple pedals in series. For instance, my custom sooper loooper has 5 of these "loops". I use one loop to activate my whammy, line 6 stereo delay and dunlop stereo panning tremelo. The loooper allows me to click one switch and all three pedals are activated. (The individual pedals must be turned on to get the effect though. Each "loop" is a true bypass on/off switch.) I use other loops for other effects like a distortion pedal loop, a flanger/chorus/small stone loop, etc. In addition to the "loops", Dave built my mesa dual rectifier channel select switch into the unit as well as A/B selector switches (I run to two heads in stereo) and two wet/dry selector swithces. I've experienced a minimal "poping sound" when I activate the delay loop as the unit picks up the delay signal from the line 6, but its not a big negative. The only other setback is that due to one of the loops having one send and two returns to accomodate my stereo delay and tremelo, the LED for that "loop" had to be sacrificed. However, if Dave finds a reliable LED for this complicated loop, I can send it back to him and he'll have the LED installed. Overall, the convenience of having all my effects at the touch of 5 buttons in one unit that is true bypass definitely makes up for any shortfalls, as this unit was kind of an experiment for both of us. My tone has also improved now that all my pedals are interfaced through a true bypass unit and don't drain on the signal when they are off. I didn't recieve a manual but its so straightforward a manual would be insulting.

I now run all pedals through this unit. There are no unexpected volume increases or descreases and no hiss or noise that I've experienced so far. I run from a strat with 59's to a volume pedal to the input of the sooper loooper, the signal is then split with one out to a dual rectifier and the other to a music man 130. Since the loooper is stereo, I dedicated one "loop" for a big muff and/or other distortion boxes that is routed directly to one out put which bypasses all the other loops and goes only to the music man. The big muff sounds awesome and I get less noise from the big muff because it has been taken out of a long chain of pedals and put in its own true bypass "loop."

I've had it for a month and so far, so good, (so what?).

Dave spent numerous time via emails and some phone calls as we worked out the details for this custom unit. I even called him with an emergency at 11:00 pm on the day I recieved the unit as I thought there was a problem with it. Turns out, it was a problem with George L's cables, not the unit. Dave was very patient and helpful throughout the entire specification and building process. The order took a little longer than I would have liked but when I finally got it, it was sweet, customized down to the color of the shell, the LED light color etc. I would recommend a custom sooper loooper from Dave to anyone who is looking for a way to turn on multiple pedals and improve tone.

Overall: Solid. The only things I would change would be an LED for the delay/tremelo loop, and maybe make it less tall. It's at about 2.2 inches tall. Maybe an alternative case style could have a slanted/ergonomic/angled top. Also, I wish it had a delay trails option, allowing the delay to decay after that loop is clicked off. I compared this pedal to two other "loopers" out there (there aren't many people doing this) and Dave had the best prices from the companies I checked out. Bravo.
