Typical fuzz controls. not much to say.

Sound Quality : 5
Does not have violin EJ tones. I run in to a boutique tube amp much like EJ and it does not have that quality to it. I sent it back.

A fulltone soulbender witht the tone set to the bassiest is much more violin sounding.

This is just right under the BBE free fuzz as far as violin tones go.

Reliability : 5
The case looks cheap and the switch looks / feels like junk.

Sorry all you lovepedal junkies

He refunded my money without question so he gets a 10.

I play nthe guitar for a living and have done so for 20 years. I get EJ tone out of a lot of gear so when I read he made a pedal just for it I jumped at it. I was very disappointed.

This pedal is the pinnacle of fuzz! I found I could easily get a great Hendrix-y sound out of it just by tweaking the knobs just a little, didn't even have to touch the internal controls. It's amazing, I can get a nice, well-behaved, round, full-bodied, solid fuzz without the noise & glitches often found in "boutique" pedals that cost a whole lot more. Best purchase I've made for the year 2008!! Not much in the "Ease Of Use" category to write, there are three knobs well labeled, and easy to operate.

Sound Quality : 10
I use this in front of a compressor, a flanger, a phase, and a wah pedal. Play a Standard Fender Stratocaster with Seymour Duncan p/u's and it all goes through my Carvin SX300H head and TruTone 2x12 cabinet. I'll turn my amp & guitar up to stage volumes and there's NO noise from this unit! I don't know how the people at LovePedal have done this, but it's a miracle as far as I'm concerned! There are times I have to play soft passages with a little more volume so as to be heard all the way to the back and the fact that this pedal is true bypass and noise free makes it a no brainer!

Reliability : 10
For something so light, it really has a solid feel to it. I have yet to have it fall from a 10 story window sill (knock on wood!) but it feels sturdy enough to gig with every night, which I've done for quite a while now!) I may have to get another one just in case anything happens to this one!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with Customer Service, but I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that they're all probably sitting around the office playing poker and eating sandwiches, as this pedal has yet to fail me, and if they build them ALL like mine, then there's almost no reason for a Customer Service Dept!

I fall into a weird musical category, (think Metallica-meets B.B. King- meets Jimi Hendrix!) and there's ton's of jam sessions where this pedal really makes my tone shine! I've been a guitar player since I was about 15 (I'm in my late thirties now!!) so I've just about seen & heard it all! Now I'm no Eric Johnson, or Steve Vai, but I think I can tell a good guitar tone and an even better guitar product when it comes along and this pedal is the real deal, I've been through so much "junk" from modelers that don't really model themselves after ANYTHING to solid state amps that don't even come close to tube amps, but through it all I think I've found a little piece of "sonic nirvana" with this pedal!

I found this pedal sounded like mush no matter what the setting, and even after tweaking the internal trimmer. It wasn't easy to get a good sound out of it. I think it's a lot of hype and is overrated.
No manual.

I use Fender Strats and tube amps. It wasn't noisy, and looks well built.
It just sounded like crap. I ran it through a set-up much like Eric Johnsons, which this pedal is supposed to sound like. Strat (in fact, even tried it with an EJ sig. Strat),200lbs, TubeDriver, Chorus, Delay, Reverb, tube amp. Nope, dosen't sound like a violin, 200 pounds of sustain or guitar, nothin'. It did sound like mush, crap. Couldn't get a good sound out of it at all. Couldn't get that EJ sound AT ALL.
I tell you what does get that EJ sound: a B.K. Butler TubeDriver, just add some delay, there you are. Want the EJ fuzz sound? Use a Fulltone 70 fuzz.

Reliability : No Opinion
Looks well built. Wouldn't use it on a gig. In fact, I sold it quick, while the hype is still out there.

Don't know. This is the only thing I've ever bought from them. I did buy it directly from them, and they were prompt on notifying me of shipment, etc.

I play rock and fusion. Nope, this wasn't for me. Not a good match.
I've been playing 30 plus years.
Wouldn't recommend it for anyone, wouldn't buy it again.
Hated it, sounded like mush regardless of setting. Crap, crap, crap.
Compared to Fulltone 70 Fuzz, AnalogMan SunFace. This can't hang.
If I wished it had anything, it would be tone.
Overhyped crap.

There are three small chickenhead knobs- Volume, Fat and Fuzz.A nice bright blue led and an excellent silent footswitch round out the top plate. The fat control does add girth as you rotate anti clockwise, less like a tone control, more like a bias control like the one on the Death Of a Vox pedal.

Sound Quality : 9
This is a very nice fuzz pedal, and unlike some it is relatively quiet in operation. It cleans up nicely with the volume knob on your guitar, like the old fuzz faces, and I would hazard a guess this pedal is a direct descendant of that lineage, albeit it better behaved. The much sought after Hendrix/ Trower tones can be had readily,as can any number of classic Sabbath and Zep tones. It really is quite versatile, I would love to whack this pedal into the front of a cranked Marshall half stack, as I think this is where this type of pedal excels. It is great for leads but surprisingly good for chordal work too, especially with a Strat type guitar.

Reliability : No Opinion
I would not go to any gig without a back up of some sort. The switch is a sort I'm not familiar with, not the usual Carling DPDT. Time will tell.

Based on my past experience with this company, I would say they are professional and cater to real tonehounds who can be finicky and demanding. In short they are willing to help but not babysit, which is as it should be.
There is not a lot to go wrong in Lovepedal units, less than a handful of parts. The case is a lot lighter than an average die cast case but you'd be hard pressed to break it by stomping on it.

Overall Rating : 8
I bought this after being intrigued by the teaser ad on the website.I have Lovepedals Death of a Vox and Eternity units, as well hundreds of vintage and boutique pedals. This pedal doesn't disappoint on any level, and if you play classic rock this and a good tube amp may be all you need. It is priced right too, but the effects universe is awash with fuzz pedals of every kind, from Fuzz Factory to beyond. This one falls into the less garish category, and is refined and toneful. If you don't need the self oscillation, farts and whistles and seek classic lead tones you'll be overjoyed with what this pedal has to offer.
