it's basicly a diode clipper stage with a huge db boost.settings before noon add brightness with db boost.settings past noon yeald a large incease in db and absolute ratty tone(yuk)!it really is quite lame( I cannot discribe it any other way). They say it brings you the plexi sound(BS)not anything like it.I don't think it's as discibed on the web site at all.at best it's just a crappy dirty boost pedal.

I would give it a 11, but it add a little bright in my original tone. Other than that, It is the BEST drive I've ever had. I have KEELEY Sparkle Drive, MIAudio Blue boy, VISUAL SOUND J&H, MIAUDIO Blues Pro, VOX V810, BOSS Blues Driver, SEYMOUR DUNCAN Twin Drive and I had MANY, I MEAN IT, many drive pedals and this baby simply shines.
I use mine at about 2 o'clock and it transparent (as I said on top, adds a little treble) and responsive, VERY responsive. You can leave it ON all the time and control the drive changing the guitar's volume !
No noise, no POPS, No nothing except Beautiful tone !!
I'm using it with my three amps (MESA Subway Rocket, Fender Superchamp and VOX AC30), my three guitars (IBANEZ JS 1000, IBANEZ DX, FENDER Stratocaster 1982).
My Setup ? (Guitar -> 535Qc -> J&H -> Crunch Box -> Amp50 -> Blue Boy -> Sparkle Drive -> V810 -> CE-2 -> DD-3 -> DD-3)
The only complaine is that it sounds a little fuzzy after 3 o'clock, but before that it becomes a NICE drive.

I play for about 20 years now. I'm not a professional player as I used to be about 10 years ago, but I still play live all the time, playing worship songs, rock and blues (all for Jesus).
I love about this pedal its responsiveness, the Bright it adds is not a bad tone, it is beautiful.
I wish it had a volume/level knob, even it was a two or three way switch, but it is not a problem, just a suggestion.
If you like low gain drives, don't waste your time, taste this sugar !

One knob...if you can't figure this one out, you shouldn't have a driver's license. That said, the knob isn't simply a gain or level knob. Rather, it changes the overall range of drive you dial in with our guitar volume control....bias adjust, I suppose...works very well. Absolutely a 10 here. The only way it could be simpler is if it played for you!

I play a corporate/wedding variety gig--11 piece band. Big Band tunes to modern country, with the usual helping of dance stuff and rock classics. Using a Fender Stratosonic HH into a Fender Ultralight Jazzmaster amp (yes, it's solid state, but rivals a lot of the tube amps I've owned, including Reverend, Rivera, Mesa, etc.)
Current signal chain is EB Wah>mini QTron>FX engineering Tumbleweed Compressor>Carl's Custom script Phase 90/Univibe>EB volume, Sonic Research strobe tuner in side chain>Amp50>other OD's in trial--currently Jetter GSR and GS Gold>Ibanez FL9 flanger>Tech21 DLA delay>amp
The Ultralight clean channel is designed for loud pristine jazz, and does that very well. What's missing is the "edge of break-up" tones. This is where the Amp50 steps in. A lot of you guys have owned at least one of the COT pedals, but this is my first from this series. This little unassuming pack-of-gum sized pedal has quietly taken over all OD duties on my board--along with the Marshall-voiced lead channel on the Ultralight. It is so sensitive to volume changes from the guitar...so I dial in various amounts of breakup with the EB volume pedal. There is a good amount of clean headroom on tap, which I love--the dirtiest stuff kicks in at almost the end of the pedal travel. There is a 3-6db boost that can't really be dialed out, but I control that with the volume pedal. So I effectively have a 'high gain volume/boost" pedal. What I find particularly nice is that it even adds a sweetness to clean sounds--upper clarity and a firm bass/lower mids, without scooping the mids. Nice. The number of tones on-hand in combination with amp overdrive is pretty amazing. Nice Nashville Tonk. The Billy Gibbons vibe is there; the "Bold as Love" dynamic breakup is there. An approximation of EJ violin stuff is there if you crank the knob into fuzz zone and back off your tone. And here's the kicker--with bridge humbucker and tone backed off slightly, I like the "dumble" tone on hand better than the Jetter GSR (I've tried every "dumble voiced" pedal on the market)...more dynamic and balanced with my amp. (The GSR is a very fine pedal in its own right.) Crank the amp overdrive and put the Amp50 between 3-4:00 and you get something approaching VH brown.
But overall, the most outstanding feature of this pedal is how dynamically responsive it is...it tracks my intentions like a heat seeking misslie. I've bought and sold over 70 OD pedals, so I know there aren't many out there that are this responsive. Most pedals "trap" you in a finite sound...this one lets YOU drive.
The negative: Many of you will find this pedal too bright. It can sound a bit harsh on the high end unless you take measures to curb this. Since it truly can be left on all the time, it's not ridiculous to dial out some treble on your amp...works well--or simply back off your guitar tone a couple of knotches. Normally I would say this is an absolute no-no--the cart leading the horse, but not here. The treble presence does help cut through the mix in many situations, and I prefer to have it there to dial out rather than have the pedal "swallow" my top end, as many do. The only pedal I've found that is similarly voiced is the Timmy (have one on order now).
Suggested improvement: Sean, since you have two small screwdriver adjustments on the Echo Baby, perhaps putting a tone and level on the side of the Amp50 in similar fashion would give even more flexibility to this already fine pedal, if there is room in there (Amp50 Gold?).
I'm generally jazzed about Lovepedal stuff. Tried a HW Eternity and it didn't really inspire me. Fuse was better for my purposes, but I let it go. I have a Les Lius, Kanji 9 and Kanji Classic Disto on order.

4 months of gigging and not even a sputter. I did buy two, but expect it to hold up very well. You can feel the silent true-bypass switch bottom out, so you have to lighten up..like driving a Carrera after driving a tractor! Seems very dependalbe with reasonable care. This is a touch box, not a stomp box.

I find Lovepedal a bit elusive. Seems you have to TwitMyBookFacePage to reach him. I'm old school and would prefer email and voice messaging. I understand everyone wants to shoot the bull with pedal makers and can yammer on, and it costs money and time to sift through a zillion messages. But a support-only traditional contact would be appreciated. I have had no problems with any Lovepedal so far, but if I do, I don't want optional new media to be a barrier to customer service. I, for one, don't want a lot of personal info on the net. Call me paranoid. I just think we're serving up ID theft on a platter these days.

I'm a musical mutt...been playing 44 years (egad!) Teach around 45 students a week, love blues rock, fusion, prog, bop, roots, and the occasional shred. My band has organized sets, but the bandleader thinks he's Peyton Manning and calls changes on the fly...I sometimes have 2 seconds to change gears, so several pedals set up for different sounds is more hassle and less effective than a simple, versatile pedal that can be controlled from the guitar. This pedal does just that for me.
