This is the newest offering of the formerly known "White Dragon" fuzz pedal from Lovepedal. Three rotary knobs that let you dial up up needs from mild to wild fuzzness. Simple mono in and out connections. 9v power tap also or battery operation if you prefer. Internal trimmer to mimmick dead battery voltage drop or to add voltage for more hair and fizz. I tried the dead battery syndrome lowering the voltage at the trimmer and it delivered the goods if you're into that kind of funky fuzz wierdness quacky harmonic tone.

This is my third pedal from Lovepedal - i dig them above all else on my pedalboard concerning distortion devices. As with the other Lovepedals i have and use , it's the transparency in the signal and the clear resulting tone that captivates me. Quiet operation and souful dynamic reponse is trademark to these pedals. This Dragon pedal i have came boxed and labled as the "Gold Dragon". It's black with a gold screened dragon on the face. I generally don't like fuzz pedals per say - i took a chance that this one would be different ... it is. It is the smoothest sounding fuzz and yet very easy to tame thru its settings. Clear, throaty , zippy zingy , hairy scary ... it's all there but with a very smooth chic that isn't wanna-be in any fashion. I couldn't find a setting i didn't like or that was unusable. With single coils or hum-b's i got equal pleasures using it. I put it to a real test for my needs by trying to dial in a Robben Ford type tone - it obliged my settings very well. I was amazed by its clear dynamics to clone the Robben mystique. I was helped in using my Super Reverb (head conversion) into a 1x12 cab loaded with a WGS ET-65 (awesome speakers) along with my PRS McCarty. It was simply great. I really dig the low gain grit you can get from this pedal - great for gritty chord work while retaining a very clear clean voice at the same time- just superb. Raising the gain delivered zesty and well controlled saturation - no wierdness jumping off any notes as with some other fuzz pedals i've tried over the years (the biggest reason i've kept away from using fuzz pedals). I also used the Dragon with a Charvel So Cal thru a Vox AC15 head into a 2x12 loaded ET-65 Lopo cab. Very cool aggressive tones yet easy to control. The sound cleans up well rolling off at the guitar volume. I really dig just how much flexibility you have over the fuzz gain and how the dynamics remain constant at any setting. I noticed how the pedal obliges the preamp it is coupled to instead of taking it over - my Super Reverb remained true to its voice as well did my Vox using the Dragon. I have to admit , i am a Lovepedal fan and junkie at this point of using them now. I have a Zendrive that i still use and favor but the clear voiced tone i get from the Lovepedal just can't be equaled - yet the Zendrive does work a magic of its own in my setup as i have it chained to a Lovepedal COT 50 RED (these two together are near unbeatable - i was a little hesitant at first getting the Dragon). Anyhoot , i'm very pleased i got the Dragon because now i have a fuzz i can use and that compliments my tonal objectives.

I play a variety of styles and i'm a classic rock age player with years developing a discerning ear. In the case of using distortion i prefer pedals over onboard amp designs because of the obvious choices one can access. That being said , not just anything will do either. For myself it begins with the simple chemistry (tried and trued)of guitar into amp out to speaker(s). Once i'm content and satisfyed with that very basic equation for my clean tone , i then sample thru the ongoing process of finding the "right" dirt boxes to complete the package. There's always room for improvement too - which is why i prefer dirt pedals over in-amp designs (easier on the wallet over the course of time and easier to sell off the ones you end up not using). Simply , all i can say is that i have found a usable fuzz pedal for my needs that delivers the goods and behaves with respect to the preamps of my rigs. Lovepedals are just too cool in my estimation and i am truly stoked again using the Dragon for my fuzz applications.
