The 2 knob foot switch combo couldn't be easier to operate. The tweekage factor is a wide range and if you've got good ears you'll be very happy with the subtleties this unit.

Sound Quality : 9
Gear=
Gutars= First run Springy Sound Tolkai stock pick ups, First run Gibson Les Paul Tak Matsumoto with burstbucker 1 and 2,s stock P_ups. Ibaneze Jem First run stock DiMarzio P_ups with a GK-3 synth P_up.

Amps= Vintage Garnet Deputy amp all original. 6L6's 12AX7's as well as with a Danelectro Nifty-Fifty. Or a Peavey VTX Series Classic Phaser Amp.

Pedals= Dunlop Uni-Vibe + Cry Baby. Vintage Roland AP.7 Jet Phaser. Seymore Duncan Twin Tube Classic. Boss GT-3. Roland Gr-20 synth.

Clean sound with both battery or adapter (use a good one Micheal recommends the 9v boss) Better sound with the battery.

To my ears the London Fuzz 2 sounds best with the vintage gear especially when everything has warmed up. Of course the quality of the amp is paramount to what the effects end up sounding like so if you have a good sounding amp to begin with, this Fuzz pedal will make that sucker react real good. I like it more with single coil but that is just personal as it really kicks with Humbuckers as well. I haven't heard it wth P-90's or Lipstick's but I think it would really drive the P-90's. (I'm looking for a good guitar with em)

Reliability : 10
100% so far. Well constructed.

I talked with Micheal and sent various emails pre purchase and he never once made me feel like I was bothering him. He was very professional and really relaxed.

This pedal is very versatile so it could fit with allot of different types of music. Again depending how acute your ears are you would be able to minor adjust the saturation and intensity. This is a fuzz pedal and not a distortion pedal so if you know the difference and want a real good fuzz unit you will be satisfied. (The fuzz sound was discovered through ripped, torn or with holes pocked in speaker cones and later reproduced via pedals... Thank the gods of tone ! Distortion was discovered by over driving the amp, BIG difference !)
What I don't like about the pedal is the paint. ( I have the big blue old style of this pedal not the newer design so I don't know what these are like.) No undercoat was used so the paint can be scratched off easily. The labels on the face are hard to read and the knobs seem backward. The level is on the right side and the fuzz is on the left. Seems to me they should be the other way around. took me awhile to remember, not good on a dark stage. Because of the paint issue I give it a 9. I chose this fuzz pedal over the others because of the sound, I try to play music with my ears not my eyes. I'd buy it again !

With it's 2 chicken knobs, it's easy to pull of the sound.

I'm using this Fuzz in front of a Fender Deluxe Reverb Re-Issue and a Mesa Boogie Caliber 50 + combine with a 4x12 speaker cabinet.
And it's outstanding, the way the harmonics develops when you play with your guitar tone.
Trough a Fender Stratocaster it's pure Hendrix and Gilmour sounds.
I can't tell you how much I play with it, and i'm not using my Boogie amp distortion anymore.Does'nt mean my boogie is'nt great, but this pedal once you play with it you just jam for hours.
It has a very good sustain, meaning you can hit a note and it will sing for a long period of time.

For Hendrix lovers, Pink Floyd, Genesis and other great band it is a legendary pedal to acquire.

Reliability : 10
Looks sturdy, but I did took off the original paint job to do my own.
So it does'nt look like a London Fuzz 2 anymore, bot thats ok.

I bought this pedal from MJM effects in Montr??al, and since I live in the area I did get the pedal to his place.
Seems like a good men, and offered me to try the other pedals if I wanted to.

This is my first fuzz, but i've been playing for 30 years, and I can't imagine that I did not use a fuzz before.
My experience with a fuzz was the Big muff and I did not like it's flabby bass, low ends.

But the London Fuzz 2 is great, I got some demos on youtube under ''London fuzz 2 demo''

Extremely Easy, two knobs... everything sounds good

Sound Quality : 10
Using a Strat and Les Paul with various amplifiers into all sorts of boutique pedals. I only use the best.

This pedal is the best.

I disagree with the previous user who says that this pedal overlaps heavily with the Sun Face. THe MJM is capable of things the Sun Face simply cannot do. IT's just a different voicing..., The silicon transistors must be some of the best of the best hand-picked... they are harsh when i want them to be and smooth when i don't... germanium fuzzes can't get that sharp sound on Band of Gypsies... this one can, and more. It does clean up incredibly too... i've never seen a silicon fuzz clean up like this, even with humbuckers.

Reliability : 10
Keeps going, and going...

Had a few questions, they were answered promptly and intelligently. Seems like a cool guy

This pedal kicks it for FUsion, Any kind of rock, and blues... it's versatile enough to be the only pedal on your pedalboard, depending on the situation. It'll go well with tubescreamer type boosters to drive the front end or back end of it to go into incredible sustainland...

Yes it helps make music! like some awesome paint for an artist... you can just slop it all over what you play and it'll sound great... It'll let you play thing you never thought you could.

Neat fuzz. So far i don't have much experience with silicon fuzz. This one sounds very nice. I am going to compare it mostly to the Analogman Sun FACE NKT fuzz, one of the most highly respected GE Fuzzes out there.

The LF2 is cool. I can see what the manufacturer means when he says that it has an 'excitable' character. When you turn it all the way up, it can get this really sharp scratchy sound that gets grainy... it seems like the fuzz goes from 0-11 instead of to 10. That much gain is kinda unusable (or highly usuable if u like that kinda thing). Super noisy at max gain too.

HOwever, like i said, i think this extra gain is kind of a "bonus" to the fuzz. You just have to roll it down a notch or two and you are in high gain silicon fuzz magic land. It really is pretty warm. I haven't tested it with single coils, just humbuckers and these weird boosted lipstick pickups that are no goood for referencing 'cuz I promise the sound they get is nothing close to what your guitar will ever do.

I am suprised as to how similar this sounds to the SUn face. It sounds brighter, and it has a bit more gain... the Leads can really soar, but they are very similar. It is sharper when you clean off the volume than the sunface, still smooth but it's bright so it has that clanky kinda sound.

Bright as it is, though, it still has alllll that low end that sun face and those other 'vintage' style fuzzfaces have, which is interesting, so it's defenitely more on the fuzzface style of fuzzes than the big muff side. so smooth and sharp, with the possibility of some scratchy high gain kinda stuff.

i hear it has an internal bias trim, which i should check out, but i haven't yet.

looks fine

they seemed cool, they didn't seem exceptionally concerned about me (i got it used anyways) but they were informative which is always nice.

They have options for changing a pot value in order to remove some of the bass if you don't like having that vintage woof or muddiness.

Overall Rating : 9
It's a simple fuzz. I like the sound that it produces, and it's certainly dynamic enough to use which is nice considering it has that Silicon sound to it. Well done MJM. i'm suprised nobody has posted a review of this puppy yet.

As it is, i kinda wish that it sounded more different than my Sun Face, because they pedals overlap in so many areas for their use. I'm pretty sure i'm going to keep them both, although if i had to keep one, it's probably be the sun face, and maybe i would try the lovepedal "Karl" fuzz or something else that seems a little less conventional. However this fuzz is well made and sounds good and is defenitely worth trying.
