This is like the others said. It's very ring modular. All kinds of overtones.Even got a buzzy/synth-y sitar sound with the bridge pick up of my Les Paul.Neck pick ups of my tele and strat are liking this sound as well. But we already know that, right? It sounds REALLY cool in front of OD and Fuzzface type boxes.Sounds fatter this way.Even gets along with my old white Deja-vibe quite well, for an effect like this.My amp is a little on the treble side of things(Fender Tone-Master)so I'll probably run this in front of OD/Fuzz,just once in ahwile for a different lead texture or weird sound effect. It tracks great on the lower registers of the neck too.Well, for what I do anyway.Thing is,these kind of boxes(octave/fuzz) open up all kinds of cool soundscapes that makes(for me atleast)a great expressive colour, especially when one masters a few tricks. And they're in there!!!Robotic-octave-steeldrum-synth tones.Oh and it's quiet when it's on.Can get a little peircing sometimes(with my rig) if not set properly, but still pretty fat.Through a darker sounding amp.....could be even cooler.Sounds like a 10..........for real man.

I've tried and owned pedals like this before.Univox SuperFuzz, although not the same it had a cool octave ring sound. The Voodoolabs Proctavia, sounded a little anorexic compared to this one.Fulltone Ultimate Octave was fun,but i sold that one years ago.So far,I really like this one.I wish it didn't need a screw driver to change the batteries, but that's a minor thing. This little box really STINGS!Hey Mike, great work.I want a London Fuzz now.NOW!

Simple, two knobs, Boost and level. You can get many many different sounds out of it, with it's simple but effective design. It's the perfect plug in and play 'octave fuzz' great for anything, I can't find ONE bad sound!

The sound quality is outstanding! As another guy said on here, it's just so warm! and that's what I wanted. I like the way it sounds! different to other octavia clones, more modern sounding and so so warm. It has a nice midrange honk to the boost that can sound anything from soft and velvety through to a bity raspy but likeble fuzz. You can get some truly unique sounds out of this thing, very ringmodulator like and almost spacey trippy sounds. The most amazing thing about this pedal is it's versitility when you use your guitar volume nob to control how it reacts to the amp. I haven't even used it with a decent class A or any other valve amp and it still sounds awesome, my current septup is a JJ Retro into a Tesse RM3 wha/Keeley Java Boost/Keeley Java Boost/Keeley Fuzz Head/MJM Rocatvios/Keeley Compressor/Line 6 Liqua-Flange/Boss DD3/last 2 fx into keeley 'true bypass' looper to make my entire fx board true bypass. Before I had the Roctavios I just could seem to get sounds flamboint/extreme enough for my needs when guitar soloing. With it I can now push myself to a creative edge that was unacheivable before hand.

So far so good, built like a ROCK! I never use pedals with a backup, they have to be able to withstand anything!

Micheal when I emailed him offerd to custom paint my pedal in other colours and you get the impression he is a true bouitique pedal craftsman, very freindly and helpfull always. A very nice man! My pedal is only number *417 that he's ever made, if that's not a sign of true craftsmanship then I don't know what is!

For the style of music I play Jazz, Metal, Fuzion, African, Death music and Hardcore Bubblegum pop it's perfect! but it works best for rock, blues, fusion and metal. I've been playing 'properly' for about 4 years and I have a Distinction in Grade 8 rockschool guitar, this pedal is a huge part of my overall wall of sound. If it were lost or stolen I wouldn't hesitate at all to pay for another on tommorrow! There are no bad sounds in this box, it's a true plug in and off you go to marz and back. I love it's creamy vintage fender esque knobs with it's Gold Hammerite finish, a stunning looking beast. For me it really helps my guitar solo's and it's made me play and try more wackier things that I wouldn't normally have done, a GREAT pedal. Thankyou so much Micheal for an outstanding pedal!!! I'll spread the word about you and your Roctavios really does ROCK!

As there are only 2 knobs on this pedal there?s really no difficulties in operating it BUT to get a good sound out of an Octavia pedal is never easy!
The Roctavios is not a "one trick pony" - as many other Octavias - and there are many variations to the sound tweaking the knobs.
In the end it?s your playing technique that will decide HOW good it will sound, but with the Roctavios you?ll have one of the best Octaviapedals to start with.

The sound is what made me buy this pedal. While some other Octaviapedals sound flat, hard and thin the Rocktavios sound full and warm.
A well-known trick is to turn the "boost" (fuzz) knob to zero and put an OD after an Octaviapedal in order to compensate for a poor fuzz section in some Octavia pedals.
No need for this with the Rocktavios!
The pedal sound great on it?s own.
I?ve used it together with OD?s - both with the boost on zero and set at 12 a clock - and this sounds great as well. (The combination of blending some of the fuzz from the Rocktavios with an OD is my favorite at the moment)

As I bought this directly from Michael I have a distinct feeling of what his customer support will be like!
Listen to this: Michael found out had he charged 3 USD too much for the shipping. What did I find inside of the pedal? YES, 3 dollars!!!
Don?t think that one has to worry about poor costumer support with this guy!

It's an Octavia style pedal. They serve a certain purpose so you sort of have to know what you are going for. That being said, there is a boost and a level knod to rweak you sound. Pretty easy if you are familiar with how an old Octavia works.

If you are searching for a Hendrix "Band Of Gypsies" type of Octavia sound, this pedal will do the trick. I was able to get any type of Octavia sound I wanted with this thing, either by itself or using with overdrive or amp distortion. Of course your guitar, amp, other fx in your chain, et cetera play a big part. For the gear I have, it does the Hendrix Octavia thing great. I use my strat into a wah, then FDII, Sun Face Fuzz, Roctavios, RM Voodoo Vibe then into a Marshall JCM 800 50w 2X12 combo.
The great thing about this pedal is that is really performs well with the gain channel of the amp as well as Sun Face and FDII. I had a Fulltone Ultimate Octave but you have to have the fuzz on to get the octave effect. The Roctavios allows me to get the same sounds I could get from the UO but also allows me to get a great clean octave to really get those Hendrix and Landau tones.
This pedal is also priced great compared to other Octavia clones. It's a no-brainer. This pedal delivers the great vintage tones and allows for way out tones that I have not heard in other Octavia type pedals. I have finally found the perfect Octavia clone.

I've been playing for about 25 years and play mostly blues based rock and some fusion type jazz (and sometimes a combination of the 2!). I try to base my sound on the Hendrix/Trower/Bramhall II/Landau model (with a bit of Warren Haynes, Page and Lifeson when I use my Les Paul or 335) and then take it from there. An Octavia type effect is essential for me and this pedal is perfect for what I need it to do.
I'd get another in a hearbeat. Can't beat the price for this type of Octavia sound quality.
I love the versatility of the pedal. I compared this only to my Fulltone Ultimate Octave and while the UO is a pretty good pedal in its own right (especially for that Satch sound from "Crystal Planet") it can't do the clean octave thing very well, and I have fuzz pedals that sound better that the UO's fuzz. The Roctavios can get the Satch type Octavia sound as well if you know how to blend the right amount of gain. The volume knob is wonderful thing too. Many shades of tone exist at your pinky tip if you know what you are doing! The Roctavios reacts well to the volume knob on my Strat, giving me even more options. My ultimate goal is to tweak the Hendrix "Who Knows?" Octavia sound out of this thing. I'm close. I know its in there I just need to search a bit more. I've already nailed many other famous Octavia tones and even stumbled on some I've never heard before!
