Mine has a very nice switch on it which really clicks in and out yet doesn't require a hard press either. I have never had one like it and I love it.

The sound quality on the Ulysees is beyond outstanding. I've always felt that wahs were overrated. I owned a Fulltone Clyde, several Dunlops and a Bad Horsie. In all honesty, eventhough I am a big fan of boutique stuff, I'd have to say my favorite so far had been the Bad Horsie. I have been playing a Clyde for 2 years or so and was never really satisifed. On clean sounds it was great and had lots of subtelties but with any sorts of gain it just kind of swept through without any real authority. Plus I felt there was a bit of a gain loss. This thing absolutely kills the Clyde and any other wahs I have ever heard. It is so liquid and so vocal. It's very reminiscent of Jeff Beck's "Defintely Maybe". The sweep covers so many shades of tones before ending on a great screamy high that never hurts the hear. Absolutely fantastic.

I have bought this one second hand and the casing was not Michael Milcetic's so I have no opinion on this.

I don't think those are available anymore which is why I bought mine second hand, but if you come accross one, don't even bother plugging it in. Just buy it and sell all your other wahs. This is as good as it gets folks.

This is another fine product from MJM. Like my other effects that I have received from MJM, this is another treasure. This wah cops all the Hendrix, SRV classic tones and then some! Michael hand winds the inductor and uses tropical fish caps, just like the original Vox wahs. Also, he uses a pot with extended range for a great sweep. This wah is so thick and fat and the tone is unbelievably throaty and vocal. It has an incredible low, middle and high range. It's all there!!! I couldn't even think of a better tone than this! It really cuts through the mix too. This is a powerful wah and it has a real pronounced tone. You don't have have to move the treadle much to find your sweet spots. Did I say this wah is fat? WOW!!!!!!!!
I am a real wah man and let me tell you...this is the best wah I've ever heard. I play with some high gain at times and when I do this, the Ulysses wah can handle it. The wahs I've had previous to this couldn't handle the high gain. They didn't really wah, it was more like a a bass or treble booster without wahing....The Ulysses cuts through no matter what with absolute authority. It sounds wonderful when playing clean as well! It is awesome!!!!

It is as reliable as wah can be. Wahs can get a bit fussy at times, but that is the nature of the beast. If anything went wrong with this, Michael stands behind all his work! I would never be worried about it!

Michael Milcetic is the best in the business. I have talked to many of the top builders out there and Michael proves to be on the top of the list. He is extremely nice, helpful and there is no ego. He is all about making the the customer happy & satisfied. Michael answers e-mails promptly, will talk to you on the phone and will not rush you through the conversation. He goes above and beyond the call of duty in all due respects. In fact, if you talk with him, even for the first time, he will treat you like a life long friend. There is no rating that is high enough for his incredible customer support. He is a true gentlemen! He wants to help you to achieve the tone you are looking for. With the great products he makes and the customer support you receive from MJM, how can you go wrong? #1 in my book!!

I play Blues and Hendrix with a SRV/Hendrix approach. I've been playing for 23 years. I'm certainly happy that I've started using effects from MJM. These pedals are the best sounding FX I've ever heard and they are built just right. I am happy that my quest for tone has been fulfilled by MJM, Michael Milcetic. He has helped me to sound better as a guitarist!
I am a big wah fan and this wah has enabled me to achieve the tones that I've always been longing to hear. It works perfectly for my style, I really couldn't ask for anything better. If it were lost or stolen, you would have to call the paramedics!!
I have compared this wah to many other "boutique" wahs. Without mentioning the other wahs I've tried, this is the one that fulfills my needs as a player, hands down. This is my dream wah, this has all tones you wished you had!!!
I paid $240 which includes the shipping from Canada. Michael provided the Vox casing for me which reflects in the price. If you were to supply the wah casing, the price would be cheaper (FYI) Michael has a limited supply of these circuits so check with him to see if it's still available at the time you read this submission. If it is available, you will love this wah, just like I do, without a doubt!!!!

Used it with an Epiphone Casino, Sg, American standard Strat Thru a Vox AC-30 Top Boost. Sounds great with any guitar. If you dig Hendrix, Clapton, Page, SRV etc. This wha is the classic wha sound, very vocal like. If you are familiar with Hendrix's "Rainy day dream away" Jeff Beck's " Ain't Superstitious" this wah nail that sound very fat and never thin sounding like Dunlop. The best wah I've played with period!

It's a wah wha fer crisakes!. The true bypass switch is a liottle to easy to activate as compared to my Jim Dunlop but I've gotten used to it

I play mainly a '64 Fender Jazzmaster with Seymour Duncan JB at the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Vintage jazzmaster at the neck, '80 Gibson Les Paul Heritage with Seymour Duncan JB at the bridge and a '65 Fender Jazzmaster. It can get a bit noisy in full treble position and you will get a little bit of buzz when you turn it on and don't play but it's nothing you shouldn't be able to handle. I use a "blackfaced" Fender Super Reverb and a Marshall JCM 800 (w/ 6L6's) a Marshall bass 4X12 and a '72 Marshall 4X12 with greenbacks. You can really get that Henedrix sixties Vox wah sound as that was what it was modeled after but I just dig the sound and don't care about sounding like somebody else. It get a bit dirty in the treble position but that's O.K. a I mainly used it for full throttle leads and noisy things (ala Hawkwind). I put a little bit more output once activated as the more tonal sweep can get a little lost in the drums and bass.

This was a mod job and I had this casing for the wah for over ten years. I have had the wah for about two months now and has worked great. The one problem though was after a month the LED light I got him to mount is now turned on whenever the pedal is plugged in not just when activated. I am going to bring the pedal back to Michael in the next while as he did mention that his work is guranteed.

I will be bringing it in to get repaired but I think it should be cool as Michael did mention that his work is guranteed. He has been really cool with me so far as I have now bought three pedals off of him and he is really eager to answer questions and even rushed my pedals so I could bring them out on tour

I have recomended this wah to a bunch of people and it does sound way better than the old Jim Dunlop it used to be. Michael goes in and changes everything on the pedal with an exception to the actual housing of the pedal. This can really get cool funk playing with a huge sweep or have a searig rip you head off sweep for noisy stuff as well as a great Thin Lizzy wah sound for bluesier leads. I would give it a little kick and increase the volume a little bit but that's my personal taste

I have a couple of wahs including simple, complex and or ?boutique? (I still hate this word!!!) ones. Something I?ve been always looking in a wah was a nice fat sound that wouldn?t get lost, muddy. And after I?ve tried some of the MJM pedals I?ve decided to try the Ulysses wah.
The guy who placed a review here before me was 100% right. This is a very fat wah! And it goes further than I was expecting!!! It is fat but never gets muddy. It doesn?t boost your sound a lot, which is very good for me, but it also doesn?t loose any signal when turned on. The bass, the mids and treble are all there!!! When on you can leave it on the treble position all the time without hurting your ears... which is good!!! You can leave it all the way closed and you?ll have a very fat, however defined sound without sounding muddy... which is amazing!!!! And you have a GOOD tone everywhere in between!!!! And the funny thing is that in some wahs, like the Dunlop JH (that I like because it is a very fat sound) uses to distort on the all the way on the bass position... even when played clean. The Ulysses wah never distorts anywhere!!! Also, in pedals like the Clyde Wah(another great pedal) when you set the internal trimmer to more bass response you seems to have the same bass signal during the first 20% of the wah range, and suddenly you go to the treble for all the rest of the way. With the Ulysses wah you never have the same tone in 2 different spots. Even if they?re millimeters distant from each other!!! You can use 100% of the range of the wah!!! Which again, just count points toward this pedal. And if it wasn?t enough, this is, at the same time, the most fat and sweet wah I?d ever tried in my life!!! And I have a couple of good wahs, including new, vintage, popular and ?boutique? ones. And I think I should give it less than 10 just for the fact that is hard to explain the tone it has. But I?ve been waiting for this sound for so long that I don?t mind spending time trying to explain this wah tone, writing this review to help some people to find their wah tone also.

There are great wahs on the market today. And I cannot say that this is the best wah ever made in the world. This review is regarding my personal taste for a wah pedal. And for waht I?ve been looking for this is the perfect wah.
I like almost everything that is or was considered rock. From Faces, Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Clapton(and this one knows about wahs!!!), Hendrix, Parliament, Black Crowes, Allman, Lynyrd, Marc Ford... So, I want to reproduce every wah sound I like on the studio or live, I would have to buy me hundreds of guitars, amps and pedals. So, there?s always the particular pedal that fits better your playing and makes you feel better playing it, no matter what you?re playing. And the Ulysses wah does it perfectly for me. It?s everything I want in a wah pedal: -FAT AND SWEET!!!

This is incredibly easy to use. Just plug in and play. No manual, but theres really nothing that needs to be read about here. My wah has been tweaked by Mike so it has more sweep. This is a fat sounding wah!

My setup is currently a Fender Custom '60 Relic Strat with 3 Van Zandt pickups. I am using a Rivera Quiana 1x12 studio amp temporarly right now until I can get a Blues Pearl amp. I cant wait to here how this will sound through the Blues Pearl. My pedals on my board from the guitar to the amp consits of this wah, dunlop univibe, MJM Blues Devil and a Boss TU2 Tuner. Im not really about using a ton of effects. I like the basics. Although I dont use a lot of effects, the ones I do use, in my opinion are the best and of the highest quality with the exception of the dunlop Univibe which is just "okay." I can get the perfect wah sound. This thing is like a Vintage 60s Vox on steroroids. Its true bypass so it doesnt kill your tone like so many wahs usually do. Like I said, this is a fat sounding wah. When I got it, I was suprised at how full and rich the tone was since most wahs I have used (Crybaby, Hendrix Crybaby, VOX reissue)tend to make your tone thinner and more trebely when you stomp on them. I can get similar tones to SRV's Say What? and his version of Voodoo Chile. This works perfectly with my Blues Devil too. Looking forward to getting an MJM London Fuzz to use with this - that combination should be total Jimi!

Mike Milcetic is a great guy to work with. I have never had the oppertunity to work with someone in the guitar industry that isnt just about making money and self centered. Mike cares about his customers and will definately get you the tone you are looking for. He responds to email very fast and ships all of his pedals out real quick. Really cool guy to deal with and all his products are exceptional.

I play Blues and rock. My favorite musicians are Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Freddie King, BB King, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Chris Duarte, Johnny Winter and early Clapton/Cream. I have been playing for 4 years. If this was lost or stolen I wouldnt hesitate to buy another. Although the wah is a little pricey, that is the best money I have spent on a piece of musical equipment in a long time. Anyone looking for a wah pedal that recreats the classic 60's Vox tone but without something that will destroy your tone, this is it. Truebypass is a big deal for me when it comes to wahs and thats one feature that I love about this. I really like the range this thing has too. The wide sweep really sounds good. I cant say enough good things about this. Words and descriptions can only go so far. Really, you got to try this yourself.
