Basics: Has 3 control knobs, level, tone, gain. Set out almost like boss pedals just that the level and tone are switched. Can't get any easier than that. To power it simply remove the part at the back to insert a 9V battery or use a normal 9V dc PSU. There is a manual but with only 3 controls it's not needed.

My setup: I use a Schecter diamond series Omen 6 and a Line 6 Variax 30. My FX chain is a little like this but I am upgrading at the minute: Guitar>>EHX double muff>>Moen OD>>Boss Ds-1>>Vox phaser>>Korg AX1500G>>Line 6 spider 2 30.

To get a good sound out of it is pretty simple. I use it as a boost to a clean, so as to give the guitar a bit of grit but not too much. This is easy. I just set the gain to the correct amount and allow the volume to be slightly louder than the clean of the guitar. Then set the tone to the sweet spot. Finding the sweet spot is not to hard but depending on which guitar I am using it takes a little tweaking.

This pedal is really nice and transparent. It doesn't change the tone of your guitar when turned on which is what i wanted.
It can get slightly noisy at high gain but most pedals do anyway.
The gain is nothing for a metal head of screamo band. I suppose it would be used mostly for pop/rock and perhaps a bit of blues, jazz or classic rock. It's not a very high gain pedal and compared to my DS-1 it is significantly cleaner.
It never sounds weak but it can sometimes sound a little dull. This is more to do with amp and guitar tone settings but it does sometimes not sound as good as other times. I think that having it running off a low battery makes it sound worse.
I don't really attempt to find the sound of my favourite atrists. I am a song writer so that thought was not what ran through my head when buying this pedal but I think that it can closely reach the sounds of artists like coldplay and Athlete.

Reliability : 8
I reckon I can depend on this. It's true bypass so if it does cop out at a gig at least it isn't like boss pedals where your whole sound will go with a broken pedal. Strong metal case so should withstand general usage.

Never had to deal with them. Might be slightly hard to get in contact with them because they are in China?

I play in Christian Alternative band. As I said before I use it as a boost for the clean setting of my guitar. We tend to play upbeat songs but there are a few slower songs. This pedal will work for either and although not tested it will probably work really well in our home studio.

I have been playing for around 5-6 years and the band I play in have been together for almost the same amount of time. We've learned to play instruments together and therefore developed our sound with the gear we could afford. I have a double muff which is great for a boost of this pedal to make it more fuzzy. The double muff actually sounds alot better when this pedal is on. They work really well together. I am a reverb kind of guy and this sounds superb with a really wet hall sound on.

I chose this pedal because it was cheap(ebay half price) and I liked what the sound samples sounded like. I thought i might aswell give it a go. It's good value for money. Probably as good as some boutique pedals.

I love that it is so transparent so it really lets the true tone of the guitar shine through without changing it completely. The sign of a good overdrive is that when it is turned on you don't really notice it but you know there has been a dynamic change or feel to the song. This pedal does it.

I've used this at several band practices and without it I don't think some of the songs we've written would have happened.

I used the Moen Overdrive for the first time last night on the gig. The response is similar to my old Rat pedal but I think the sound is more transparent. At cranking volume I found the tone control worked great,in conjunction with Graphic EQ, with warm mids and high mids kicking in without sounding plasticky and shrill.

The sound quality of the unit is amazingly good especially for the money. I dont use distortion all of the time so when it kicks in I want it to enhance the clean sound not bury it in fluff. Its important for me to have a sound that doesn't lose its edge and get smothered in the mix - even when its dirty, or brittle and harsh when you crank the tops. I did have the unit working with a PRS McArty, a Rivera R100 and my old Boss GE7 as a clean boost and I think that helped. The two pedals worked really well together.

Reliability : No Opinion
I have only used it on one gig so far - I was really impressed but time will tell on durability and build quality. I used it without a back up last night - and gave it a good caning. It seems simple and tough at first glance - there was nothing to suggest that this unit wouldnt perform consistently.

I have been playing for over 20 years- playing all styles - but mainly Jazz, funk, fusion and latin music. Most of the fuzz/distortion pedals I have had are too fuzzy, or metallic or just too coloured for the natural tones I like in the main. I have a Rat, which I quite like although it can be a bit tubby sounding,an EH double muff which is good for over the top stuff and a Carl Martin overdrive which has nice sustain, but the Moen is probably the most transparent - which is amazing considering it cost me 50 bucks brand new! I'd get another one - its a third of the price of most of its competitors - whats not to like?
