No noise at all.
I used to boost my Bad Cat CUB II. It's places as the last pedal in my chain. My chain starts with a pedalsite.dk buffer/mute.
To have a buffer at the end and the beginning of your pedal-chain makes a difference regarding noise and loss of signal. There is hardly a loss of signal in my chain due to the use of buffers.
If you, as I do, place the MC-401 at the end of your chain it will push your amp and not work as a clean boost but push the tubes to a warm crispy overdrive.
Very often a boost-pedal will change your tone, this in not the case with the MC-401.
If you like me, prefer to overdrive your slightly and use your tone and volume of the guitar the MC-401 will be an ecxellent helper adding an extra channel to simple set-up.

Quality. You can tell that it's joint venture between MXR and Custom Audio.

I've allways loved my amp(Bad Cat CUB II). I had perfect a clean/chruch tone which I controlled with tone/volume of the guitar (Tele ??61). But I needed to push my amp a bit more for lead bits and riffs.
After having owned and tried anything from compressors, treble boosters(too noisy) and boutique overdrives. I read about placing a clean boost at the end of the pedal-chain. THE SOLUTION:-)
I can highly recommend this pedal to anyone preffering a one channel simple set-up.
The price is a more than fair.
I hope these guys decide to do even more joint ventures.

Bypass footswitch and a single knob that sets the boost from 0 to +20db. Easy to operate.

The Booster provides a transparent boost when turned on. It also adds some definition to the highs, which is welcome, as my fx chain is pretty long (runs like this at the moment: Zvex Fuzz Factory -> Ibanez tuner -> MXR Phase 90 -> Marshall Drivemaster -> Boss TR-2 Tremolo -> EHX Stereo Memory Man w/ Hazarai -> Booster). I was very pleased with the way the pedal sounds on my Hot Rod Deluxe. It also works very well with the Fuzz Factory, which otherwise often gets lost in the mix.

Being in a five piece cover band and having to fight for space with a second guitar and keyboards in the mix, this pedal proves very useful. I use it mainly for lifting out solos but sometimes leave it on at low boost settings for entire the song to make my guitar stand out. Highly recommended and well worth the investment.

It doesn't change your sound, and it's true bypass, but will give you a boost of solo's etc...

I play rock and since most bands cannot afford a soundman you can boost your leads with ease. I tried other boosters but they never seemed to do what they claimed to do until I found this pedal. it's a great clean boost and doesn't change your tone ..just makes it louder.

Easy to use: one knob, one switch. Foolproof!

I use the item as a solo boost switch in the end of my effects chain. Gives up to 20 dB boost without coloring. Noise level is very low, next to non existing. When I have used my pedal board, the MXR boosts all that is linked in front of it. Any audible noise can come from "wherever you want". As with all items: Don't go to extremes...

Have used it a week, still working. I mean, I don't stand or fall with any pedal. If it would break down I'll manage. Seems sturdy enough for my big feet...
