Very easy to get a good sound from it, need a couple of minutes of tweaking around with the knobs. in less than 5min I had already found my sound.

The best sounding chorus i've heard, At the shop, i was checking between this one, the voodoolab chorus and the EH clone theory. The MXR won over them , The MXR was better sounding with distortion than the 2 others, and it boost the sound a little bit, so its great when you play solos.
Totally no noise, in my setup I don't have a noise gate, but I have some noise due to my high gain settings, but the MXR isn't noisy, its mostly cause of my pickup(livewire metal)with the gain at maximum on my zenman.
Very good chorus for high gain, so if you play metal stuff, you should go with this one instead buying a BOSS, even if the MXR cost more, you will never regret, nothing beats Analog effects except tube effects.

I play high gain metal stuff, and the MXR Stereo Chorus was definitely what I was searching for, it was the most expensive at the store, and i don't regret to have bought this one. If stolen or lost, i'm getting another one, i wouldn't change for anything else.

Much easier to get a GREAT sopund out of than the Boss CE 20 I've just sold on Ebay. Every setting on the MXR is musical and the brief manual gives some cool basic settings to get you started / reassured.

Set up: US American series strat (with EMG DG20's) and Tele. 1980's Jap Squire Strat with electrics off aformentioned strat. Orange AD15 12 class A combo. Boss: Tuner, GE7 EQ, noise suppressor, Giga Delay, PW10 WAH, Super Overdrive, EHX Holy Grail, MXR: FLanger, Dynacomp and Stereo Chorus, Tubescreamer TS9, Pete COrnish SS2/P2 Duplex, Fulltone Mini Dejavibe.
Bloody lovely. Blows the Boss chorus pedals out of the water, They sound thin and tinny by comparison. The MXR seems to sound more (if you'll fogive the cliche) organic and real. Its hard to describe but it just seems more professional. Adds a lovely sheen. Great clean and great with distortion. It'll do a good Andy Summers (the sound I always thought was flanging lives here) and a good Brian MAy and David Gilmour. Its just lovely and buttery. Sorry to gush but having played various chorus pedals the MXR nails the sound I've always wanted from a chorus. Wish I'd seen sense and gone MXR years ago. And it's as quite as a mouse and it doesnt suck tone!!!

5 KNOBs Bass, Treble, Intensity, Width, Rate, there is also a tiny
button by the Bass knob to have Mono output only. There is a single input with Mono or Stereo outputs.
Relatively easy to use, almost a booster so watch the Intensity.
2 9V and unlike the smaller MXR's this has a plastic battery compartment! Yeah, no screwing around.

Thick, fat, buttery sound, strong signal boost, great
controls for bass/treble. Compared to my Boss CH-1, fatter,
thicker tone no comparison, quieter and creamier sound than the EH
Electric Mistress too.
Definately a great addition to the pedal line up. I play with Gibsons (ES335, LP Supreme/Standard), American Strat and a Danelectro DC59, all sound great through this thing. I use the
Electric Mistress with distortion, the difference with distortion isn't as noticeable as with clean signal. Amps Twin Reverb, MESA SOB.

Built great, I bought this used off Ebay and
the jacks are a little sticky which worries me a little
while at home afraid somethings going to snap in there.
But exterior built well. Chews batteries like a
friggin starving dog. Need to get an adapter.

So far I would say a must have unless you can find better.
It crushes the Boss pedals and gives the guitar a phat, textured
sound that we guitarist expect to get out of a chorus pedal.

Five knob to deal with, not much to say; I like the fact that you can adjust bass & treble to mach the clear tone of the guitar

Well, I really didn' buy it yet, just tested it side-by-side with the Carl Martin Chorus : well I'm a big fan of CM, my compressor is really noiseless, tho a subtle hiss comes out of the Fender Pro twin when on.
I tested with a 2000 Strato HSS plugged onto a Pro reverb; this is quite similar to my rig, except for the humbucker pup; well, let me say I'm quite disappointed with the CM and impressed by the MXR; first, 'bout the noise : this pedal was COMPLETELY noiseless, even at 8/9 !!!, the insertion was smooth and we even failed to recognise when the effect was turned on, with eyes closed !!; I read some people are complaining aboute noize, but I think it dipends on the rig; the CM was constantly hissing, tho a good noisegate can cancel it, the MXR won.
Above all, let me say, once for all that the CM failed to convince me for the sound too...yes, it was crisp e somewhat clear, but the depth was limited, while the MXR could perform from clear to well rounded chorused guitar, like it should be. Sorry CM, maybe with Rev. 2, for now th MXR is the clear winner..
Did I tell ya the MXR is cheaper than the CM ? :)

Uhh...how should I put this.THE BEST CHORUS IN THE WORLD!!Not as bright as the Maxon, not as dark as the Voodo, and more sutble than the
Small clone. This baby can go from gentle bathtub chorus to silly, acid trip gargle. With the depth turned down it can sound like a Leslie speaker rotation.Yeah, yeah it's a little noisey, buuuuut I don't care!
I use a noise gate anyway.I think it sounds good with any pedal in the chain.Recorded it with a Roland Super Phasor in front...the sound
was SILLY,I TELL YA',SILLY!!!

In short terms,LIQUID,BABY,LIQUID!! I used to see these things when I
was younger, but never tried one.OH,the arrogance of youth. If it were lost I'd probably spend a week in mourning. The MXR Chorus beats the
snot out of the competition! When I finally experienced one it made my toes curl! I've been playing for 22 years, this is probably my favorite
pedal.I find excuses to use it.

Im using it with a strat and a peavy nashville 400,chained in is a vintage wah wah then a boss distortion then the chourus, the pedal is noisy but if you can turn down the noise by opening the pedal up and adjusting the small potentiometer(pot) up near the where the big pots are,I turned it with a small screwdriver and noticed some of the chourus effect went down a bit but it cleared the noise,a good trade off.

I had the pedal for twenty years and used it everywhere,I had to do some resoldering here and there and repaired the switch once or twice and also changed one pot, recently theres a fair amount of distortion coming out of it,very noticable with humbuckers, maybe it had something to do with turning that little pot down,or maybe its just too old.

My system is too complex to list here. But basically when used, humbucker loaded guitar-MXR-into a plexi Marshall I modded. Noisy? Yes, it has a hiss to it...clean or distorted. I bought this in mint condition and really like the sound, but the hiss kills me. I went out and bought a HUSH IICX to help clean it up. As for the sound outsaide of the hiss, it is the best chorus around if you can find one. The effect is great. the noise is terrible!

I play blues. This chorus unit is kinda like my princess's belly, I just love it no matter what I am ramming into it(tongue, love-muscle, etc.) I use this for vocals, guitars, the works. I even ran a finished recording through it and it sounded great. Thats because this chorus is so distinctive and tastefull.
If this were stolen, I would spend a lifetime retracing my steps to the exact spot where it was taken from. Then, just to mix things up, I would pay $140 to the guy who saw the guy who stole it to give me outdated directions that were useless with the theif 15 years ahead of me. Then I would use my Carmen Sandiego Software to chase down the criminal in time, and take it back! Back?
