Two knobs: Speed and Depth. Essentially, how fast and how much. You might need a little grad school to fully grasp the physics behind it, but hey... life's all about sacrifices.

ok, put this sucker out in the open. THIS IS A NOISY PEDAL. that's not to say you can minimize the noise. I've done this by putting at the end of my chain, namely: Tele --> Boss Dual Overdrive --> MXR Micro Amp (great pedal!) --> MXR Phase 100 --> MXR Stereo Chorus --> Line Selector --> Fender Twin. Now the hiss is only slightly increased from any amp noise that's being made. In short, don't put an overdrive AFTER the Stereo Chorus, because it will make the hiss louder.
Other than the noise, the pedal is great. It's lush and warm, it won't get very wet, but more than enough for my tastes. It's what my Twin has been begging for. Suffice to say, i can't play clean without it. My favorite is with the speed at 1 o clock and the depth at 12. i'd give it a 9 because of the noise, but i can't bring myself to go lower than that.
one more thing... if you put a MXR micro amp before the chorus, it boosts the chorus sound and presence, but NOT the noise! just a little quirk i thought i'd share.

okay, here's the thing. i got it used for 40 bucks in a trade. it's one of the old "Commande" pedals, when they started making them out of plastic instead of metal. The switch is not that precise and sometimes the effect doesn't turn on with the knobs at certain levels and you have to kinda nudge the knobs so that it does. but i leave the knobs in a set and forget mode, so i don't really have a problem. I'd like a backup, definitely, because i feel like it's going to crack if i step on it too hard. will i get a backup? probably not. i'll take my chances.

never dealt with MXR. i'd probably go out and buy something else, or maybe a metal one if this one ever gave out. probably not worth getting repaired.

i play a lot of rock and funk. for clean sounds, this is the end all. I love the chorus sound and this pedal nails it. haven't tried it in stereo (only one output jack so you need a stereo cable). If it broke or got stolen, i'd probably buy a voodoo labs or a metal cased MXR for more stability. A lot of pedals get that classic chorus sound that i like, and i'm not too picky. I just happen to think it's great that i got this in a great deal... wish it were more rugged, though.

It's very simple to get a sound out of it, just plug it in! No patches, no fuss! Unfortunately I didn't get a manual for it but one really isn't nedded.

The unit adds some hiss esp. to a distorted amp but the unit I have actually boosts the sound. The chorus sound is rich and deep.

Seems very reliable, built like a tank.

I would most defintely buy it again because it is by far the best sounding chorus unit I have ever owned. I currently have a Boss CE-2, CE-3, CH-1 and a DOD 460 and it beats the hell out of them. Using the manual control I have gotten sounds from tremelo to Leslie Speakers.
