Ease of Use : 10
Very Fun right out of the Box, This thing is very deep, so plan on spending some time to get used to it. If your familiar with other looping devices this wont be too hard to figure out. Has a Full Filter section to add some serious color to your sound. Static memory will save 2 loops in its memory bank.

Sound Quality : 10
Sound Quality is excellent!!! And a very low noise floor. This thing is addictivly Fun. I have Tweaked on it for hours. I currently have used most major Looping Pedals and Rack mounted decices and this thing rivals them all. It is right up there with the Lexicon Jam man but in a totally different way. The Filter Section alone is worth the price of Admission.
Instant reverse is super easy and fun. has 1/2 speed button. Clix button is basically a Tempo click track. Has Basic Midi funtions and will send midi clock. Has CV inputs for real time tweaking.

Reliability : No Opinion
Seems very well Built.

NOT AT ALL EASY TO USE. this is not a knock on the box. it's so powerful and sooooooo amazing that it took me a whole day just to figure out my way around it.

so i'm gonna give it a 2, but that in no way is meant as a knock on it. if you're looking for a "plug in and play" looper, get a Boomerang. The Manecoloopers are not for you!

Sound Quality : 8
The sound sampling is 8-bit (maybe 10?), but you coulda fooled me. Sound quality is excellent.

The Filter section is noisy when the Resonance is dialed up -- you can hear filter osciallating, but that's pretty typical. In context, the filter is pretty quiet and awesome sounding. It may be my fave part of the Maneco. :)

As you increase the loop time (up to a miximum of 64 seconds!! unheard of!!!!), i think the bit rate decreases, but the signal degradation still isn't unpleasant. if there's any lo-fi-ness, it's GOOD lo-fi-ness. i have a feeling that if yr looking for a flawless hi-fi looper, then you're not reading this review anyway.

With the delay/loop time dialed all the way down and with a mild filter applied, you can achieve VERY convincing analog delay sounds. this surprised the hell outta me.

Reliability : 7
Since there are made in Uruguay and shipped, in my case, to the U.S., there were a couple of issues. First, the switches that Juan uses are not the same quality that i'm used to. They're these huge brass things that take some getting used to, and one of mine doesn't switch as reliably as the rest. Ahh, well.

Also, one of the LEDs came loose from its home during it's trip up from South America. It was an easy, 2-minute fix. And it got me to open up the Looper and look at the AMAZING amount of work that went into it. There are either 3 or 4 separate boards, all hand-assembled. Just thinking about the amount of work that went into this thing is exhausting!!!

Customer Support : 10
Juan is AWESOME. He's been nothing but helpful at every step of the way. He gets (and deserves) a 10 in this category!

Overall Rating : 10
The ManecoLooper is a perfect match for my ambient-damaged noise-pop projects. Why someone would spend over a grand for original EHX 16 Second Delays or somewhat less for the forthcoming reissue is beyond me -- the Manecos are much better and MUCH cheaper!

If it were lost or stolen, i'd probably take my own life.

My favorite feature of the Elite is the fact that you can use the Filter independent of the Looper -- it's like getting an awesome hi pass/bandpass/lo pass effect for free!!

It inspires me to make music, which is possibly the highest compliment I can pay it and its creator.

If you're thinking about buying a Maneco, DO IT! Juan rocks, and so do his effects. He is trustworthy, kind, and brilliant. SUPPORT INNOVATIVE INDEPENDENT BUILDERS!!!
