Big heavy cast aluminum case, small circuit board inside w/ 9v battery. Super easy to use, surprising amount of gain from the filter pot (and some minor variations in tone resulting from amount of filter used), the volume pot... somehow effects the volume...

Really interesting sound. I have the 1967 model with raised lettering. Pete Townsend used the later 1975 version. I have not tried that one. Mine has classic old school distortion, slightly warmer than other fuzz's I have used, can be tweaked with treble on my Champ amp to get really dry sounding, which I love. A little noisy but much better than what comes from some settings on my GT3 pedal. Interesting decay and sustain drop with some single/bent notes, otherwise a wonderful modulated fuzz tone that is unique to my ears... Very glad I have this vintage pedal.

Just resurrected by Rockin Bob in Somerville, MA - by Bob himselfs! (thank you, man! - you saved some rock & roll history!!!). I paid $85 for repairs, well worth every cent. Rockin Bob said they go for much more when the come up on eBay. This pedal is built like a tank with the Supa heavy duty cast aluminum housing. I expect it will outlive me. I hope somebody else who loves electric guitars will love it as much as I do.

I have a 1990 LP Junior, a couple of Strats, this pedal sounds really different with each guitar I use. I just recently got a Squire Strat (Indonesian), black w/ plastic mirror pickguard, large headstock. New $200, I paid $130 with decent case, then had to totally set up the intonation. It's a bit weird, will go sharp after I tune it! But I LOVE this axe! lots of tone for such a cheap axe. Great for slide, and the sounds I got outta it with the Supa Fuzz (and Tube Screamer & Zoom 505 pedals in line) were UNBELIEVEABLE!! Totally cool! If lost/stolen/distroyed I would be very sad... these pedals are extremely rare and hard to replace.

Easy! Crank it up! Volume up as high as it goes and Filter just backed off from total saturation. Amazing pedal. This is the first version with no limiting resistor and OC-81D transistors. Basically, identical to the Vox/Sola Tonebender MKII. Holy Grail!!

Sounds amazing!! Sounds like heaven with my Brown & Blonde Fender amps. A little Vox Clyde McCoy action with it for fun. Fuzz with a boost in volume!! Page/Clapton/Beck/T-rex type tones.

Never heard something goooood like the Marshall Supa Fuzz!!! This fuzz just sounds perfect if you dig that vintage 60's long sustain sound. It's much fatter than any other vintage fuzz I've owned (and it has been a lot! believe me). I don't realy know what to say because you realy can't compare it to anything. It's just one of the best sounding fuzzes ever made!!!!!It is aggresive but creamy. Sweet (I hate that word to describe a fuzz but it kind of IS) but not sweet as a lollipop...sweet like blood or whiskey...understand??
And it's not only build like a tank, it even looks like a tank: very big and heavy!...Never seen a fuzz bigger than this one. It makes your wah look tiny by it's side.
FAT, FATTER, MARSHALL SUPER FUZZ ! ! ! ! ! The coolest fuzz pedal ever made!!! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Are you kidding? Of course you can depend on it! It's a vintage fuzz tank! Even an elephant couldn't break it, I'm sure!

I couldn't immagine there is a person that does not like this pedal! I don't like Marshall amps (I prefer Fender...black face of course!) but Marshall did a very very good job here! ...I believe the best job they ever did!

Simple to use even with all the old lettering effaced. Left input Right output and level and filter Knobs left and right respectively. Tossed the manual after buying in 1971 didn't need it. Nearly tossed the unit a few times. Harvested the aluminium base for a home project circa 1995. Started Playing again a year ago.

I use a Fender Hi-Way Fat Strat and a Marshall MG 100 DFX. The best way to describe the sound I get with my humbucker and even the single coils is... listen to the the lead work in "American Woman by Guess Who"- true silky smooth fuzz. It did break up once or twice until I sprayed the pots with Servisol now faultless.

Left in my garage for 27 years. Re hammer finished with a new aluminium base and rubber feet a servisol treatment, it's as new. Thinking of silk screening the logo and letters back on.

Play 70's and 80's blues and rock. Ideal for this stuff. If I lost it I might go for something modern but might be hard to find something as smooth sounding.

Very easy to use... There are two knobs: a volume (controls the volume while adding distortion) and a filter (makes your sound fuzzier as you turn it up). Oh ! and there is an on/off switch !!! Nothing difficult to understand here...

I use this in two different situations, on guitar and on bass... I use a Jackson guitar wich I plug in the Supa Fuzz then in a Fender amp... Result: no need for anything else !!! I never heard anything quite like that fuzz sound, excellent, brilliant !!!! On bass, my setup is a bit more elaborate: a G&L L-2500 bass, ampeg A-4 phaser, Trace Elliot dual compressor, Morley Wah, Supa Fuzz, Boss DM-100 delay/chorus unit and finally, Ampeg SVT with an 8 x 10 cab. Again, the fuzz tone I get is quite good, probably the best I heard on a bass. It sounds particulary good when my chorus is on (the sound gets even bigger). The Supa Fuzz is absolutely not noisy !!! Excellent, brilliant !!!

This thing is old, maybe 35 years old... When it was given to me, it wasn't working anymore... Actually, I realized the on/off switch was disconnected and the pots where dirty... Now, it works like a new pedal (only it sounds better than any new fuzz on the market !!!). I would say it's reliable...

very simple, two controls...volume and fuzz..the volume can actually operate as a boost when fuzz control is turned down to minimal.
very creamy sounding reminiscing of Cream and Yardbirds..when fuzz is
all the way up it is fuzz heaven...lots of gain and smoothness. great.

this unit can sound great with any amp..it is a very very old fuzz box
circa 1966 or so...it was favored by many english guitar players...and of course getting very very hard to find...it was manufactured by Sola Sound of London for Jim Marshall..from 1966 to 1973. nearly impossible to find in England now.
sounds great through a Marshall amp and a guitar with humbucking pickups....very smooooth and creamy...long sustains. very unique.
for sure a true gem of a find. if you can find one.

well...it is quite old....almost 35 years old..but it still kills.
lots of gain...big fat transistors..so far so good..i wish marshall
would reissue this someday..they are very peculiar looking also..big
silver odd looking box with two marshall knobs.kinda looks like a robot. i will be looking for another one soon. you bet.

well..i am sure Marshall is quite aware of this little oddity..however
since it was out of production many many moons ago it would be quite hard to seek any technical support...very simple pc board however might facilitate rework. the one major setback being to find the old
germanium transistors...but i am sure they are still available if you search hard enough.

i would love to own as many of these as i could find...but however they are very hard to find...if you like that creamy fat sustain of yesteryears, this is the box for you...the only other thing that sounds close to it would be the Sola Sound Tone Bender..which is basically a cousin of the supa fuzz..made by the Maccari factory.

hey, it's Marshall fuzz. What do you expect? About the best vintage fuzz pedal I've heard. Creamy, smooth, and infinite sustain. Roll of the guitar volume a fair bit, though, and it breaks up into buzzy, sickly fuzz... this is a GOOD THING, though. Very clean pedal too, considering its age. I understand these weer made by Sola-Sound, but this blows a reissue Clorsoun Tonebender of the planet

Yeah, seems pretty tough. Huge cast aluminium (?) case... needs new screws for the base plate. God knows how old it is, but seems to have stood the test of time pretty well. On stage? yeah, sure.. I's have a Hyper-Fuzz for back up, since teh Boss is such a crap pedal I'd never use it for anything but back up.

Bought it in a pawn shop for pennies (it was sitting among crappy roktek pedals at more than twice teh price!)
Integral to my tone, which is itself pretty indescribible. Would buy one - at up to about #50 - if i ever saw one again. If it were stolen I'd be fucked, coz nothing really sounds like this.
