Sound Quality

Buttery smooth, just like a Tube Screamer should be. Try two of these cascaded for a heavier sound. It sounds great! I use this with a Squier HH Strat and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe set to a nice vintage clean tone. I then use the Tube Screamer as my only overdrive. You can get a nice bluesy grind on lower distortion settings, and a nice buttery overdrive on higher settings.
Reliability

The reissue 808's should be just as reliable as the originals. As far as the mod goes, Eric stands behind his work. I have confidence that it won't be a problem if something should go wrong, not that it will :).

This pedal is one of the best purchases I've made in a while. I've tried all the popular overdrives, but this one has just that extra "something". When I asked, Eric said his goal was for this pedal to be the closest to true vintage 808 tone with enhanced clarity and transparency. I think he has definitely achieved that goal.
