Very easy to use, the usual three knobs when dealing with an analog delay: time, feedback, mix. There is also a dual/single head switch which adds another delay at about a dotted eight note - love this one. two outputs, delay/mix and dry.
It's easy to get nice usable sounds out of it, but it takes a little more time if you want to get the perfect oscillation type sound.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using this with a Fender and a PRS, a bunch of other effects including TimeFactor delay and a Boogie MK1 RI.

The sound is PRO-level - it doesn't dominate the overall sound, it just colors everything in a beautiful way in the background. (I'm not talking about it altering your tone in any way, just adding fullness to it in a good way) If you set it right, it makes you sound 10x better and you only notice how good it is, when you turn it off and you realize how dull everything sounds without it. I guess it can do the usual tricks (slapback etc..) but i don't use it for that. I've heard people say this one sounds even better than the Moog analog delay (but has less features..). Haven't tried that one, so I can't say if it's true.

Reliability : 9
It seems to be built like a tank, I use it without a backup, but if it would crap out on me, I still have the TimeFactor. But I don't expect that to happen because I take care of my pedals, regardless of how well they're built.

Never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 9
I use it mainly for jazz, and besides that for funk, pop and r'n'r. been playing for more than 10 years.

If there would be one thing I could add to it, it would be longer delay time. Not that i REALLY need it but it would be nice to have it. But then again, there's the AD999..

Overall it's a great pedal, one of the best delays out there. A real tape delay probably sounds even better, so I'll give it a 9.

Very Easy. Three knobs, Delay Time, Regen, and Mix.

Sound Quality : 10
Very quite and warm sounding analog delay. Does not alter tone. Very good if you are looking for a short slapback delay.

I play blues rock. Playing for about 25 years. My signal chain is Fender Strat with Fralin Blues Specials, Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive, MXR - Phase 90 - Dyna Comp - Classic 108 Fuzz, Boss Tremolo - Dynamic Wah, Maxon AD-9 analog delay, Korg Pitchblack tuner, into a Peavey Classic 30 combo w/ Celestion Vintage 30.

This pedal is so good you forget about it. I find that bad delays annoy you and the good ones you don't even notice.

Simple straight forward. Three knobs: delay time, repeats, blend. One input, two outs: mix and dry. There is a switch called "dual" which gives you a rhythmic delay. This is great at faster delay times to give you a cool concert hall effect - hard to explain, but unique to this pedal.

Sound Quality : 8
This has to be the best sounding anlog delay I've heard. When Maxon calls this "Pro" I hear what they're talking about. They have upgraded the circuitry to give the delays the sweetest organic decays out there. They also upgraded your maximum delay time from the AD9. Instead of 300ms you now get 450ms. I also own the Moogerfooger Anaolog delay which I bought for all the CV inputs (I have a modular analog synth set-up). The AD9 Pro sounds better but doesn't have all the control options. But - if you are looking for incredible sounding analog delay this just might be your pedal. BTW, the self oscillation is bad-ass. You can get this puppy to scream!

Now for my only complaint, and this could be VERY important to some of you guitar players. The mix knob, or as they call it, "delay level," does not give me enough delay level. When it is totally maxed out the delays are barely even with your dry signal. You cannot get 100% wet. The best you get is equal amounts of both. Because it is analog the delays are warmer and "sit down" in the mix quicker. I would like to get the delay hotter in some situations (like volume swells). Since the AD9 Pro has a direct output as well it would have made sense to be able to dial the mix ouput 100% wet if you wanted. This really frustrated me, but it might not make a difference to you. Personally, I would not have bought it knowing this now. I am selling mine. Again, it might not be a big deal to you but at $300 it should be a consideration. Because of that I can't give it a 10.

Reliability : 10
The AD9 Pro is without a doubt the most solidly built pedal I owned. Like a tank!

Haven't dealt with them. I sold the AD9 Pro because of the delay mix issue and am waiting for my Diamond Memory Lane 2.

This is a beautiful sounding analog delay. I just couldn't live with a max dry/wet ratio of 50% - not for what I do anyway. This thing would have been an easy 10 otherwise. Maxon is going to have to address this.
